  • nobody in that organization will take the blame for the fact that the season was a waste. And here we are once again in last place with no qb and a head coach in over his head. He's Romeo Crennell all over again!

Pettine is far and away better then the doughnut.

  • Pettine has this team headed in the right direction. I suspect tomorrow will be very interesting indeed concerning the wayward children. Maybe he'll put each in a basket and send them down the Ohio and see if any can become baby Moses for someone else. Or better yet, maybe down the Niagra. 😆

  • Good . . . First step in not being a joke franchise

  • What if San Fran or some other more talented team wants him? I'm not sure how he is regarded around the league, but it just takes one team. And then he's likely gone.

  • Pettine had to stay. Had he of been fired, it would've sent us into the dark ages for many more years.

Much more likely he gets 200 games with the Browns than Johnny fucktard the elf does.

  • What is Haslam's twitter account? I only see a ton of fake ones out there..

We can only hope so Mark. So far, he looks like the real deal. He just needs some better talent on the field and a coordinator change or two, as well as learn from his mistakes......... I like him.

Pettine has already admitted to mistakes. We finished last but this season provided me a lot of enjoyment. I saw a rejuvenated fan base at the stadium and feel like we are headed up. Call me a homer if you will. I'm looking forward to next year.
  • Texas, I really thought you were a Johnny fan boy. If you stick around, welcome aboard to the the up and coming team every year.

  • Pettine is the real deal! He showed no preference and didn't coddle Farmer's two first rounders. He's a tough minded football coach with class, integrity and demands discipline. It's going to be his way or the highway. He's one of the bright spots heading into next year.

No way he'll be talked into giving players preferential treatment. Good on him!

  • And he'll be 100% gone after next year..

  • Haslam says Browns won’t tolerate “irresponsible” players

Posted by Mike Florio on December 28, 2014, 5:26 PM EST

With the Browns seeing a 7-4 start disintegrate to an 0-5 finish, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam won’t be hiring a new coach or a new G.M. The same ultimately may not be said for some of the team’s high-profile players.

Via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Haslam said after Sunday’s loss to the Ravens that the Browns are “not going to tolerate people who are irresponsible no matter what round they were drafted in.”

He’s referring to quarterback Johnny Manziel, cornerback Justin Gilbert, and receiver Josh Gordon, each of whom found trouble this weekend for failing to be where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there.

Haslam also said that the Browns will continue to work with the team’s irresponsible players, but he made it clear they’ll be gone if they don’t “fall in line.”

As to Manziel, it remains to be seen whether he has gotten the message. During Sunday’s loss, he was on Twitter, clicking “favorite” on a tweet from TMZ regarding Chris Rock’s looming divorce from his wife.

Maybe someday Chris Rock will be favoriting a tweet from TMZ regarding Manziel’s looming divorce from the Browns.

    Says it all

  • let's hope they do whatever they are going to do sooner than later.

    quick and clean.

  • If Ryan Leaf v2.0 is still on this team come the start of training camp, then I will never have an once of respect for the owner or the FO.

i don't like manziel either but i think it's kinda hard to give up on a first round pick literally over night. do i think he will make it in the nfl? no. but some people in the franchise might and unfortunately they make the decisions.

That's what I fear mik. He's a talentless, organizational cancer with zero trade value. The quicker he's gone, the better off we are. Puffy can stay until draft time and hopefully someone will want him.

I have seen enough of v2.0 to know he will never be an NFL QB, hopefully the guys making the decisions have the same eyes as I do.
