Jonathan Paul Manziel
-
As I watched the Seahawks Russell Wilson last night I kept thinking there is no reason for Manziel to look as bad as he did this year. He does have more talent than that. I was upset with him for things like joking around on the sideline while the Browns were getting thumped by the Bengals 23-0. What in the world is there to joke around about? Then his partying again right after the season with seemingly no concern about his poor play and the Browns missing a good opportunity this past year of making the playoffs.
I believe if he can get mentally into the game he is capable of being a good QB. If we wants to quit being a clown, party animal and focus on being a good quarterback. JMO.

That's good to hear.
When I met with the Browns VP he said Johnny was going to be good, but there was "something that needed to happen" ... I'm thinking this is what he meant.
Zombo
--Personal responsibility is a good sign, I hope turns the corner and kicks ass.

Thank god.

Just read about it on Bleacher Report. It's a good PR move but won't mean jack shit if he can't perform on the field.

Johnny stealing headlines after the Super Bowl. They give way too much media attention to this bum

Actually i applaud him for seeing he has a problem unlike Josh Gordon who makes excuses . Who knows if it will make a difference on the field but anytime someone realizes they have a problem and gets treatment it betters there life!

Johnny seems to have more of a problem than Gordon. But second hand weed is worse than getting plastered on alcohol apparently.
I didn't like this draft pick from the beginning (opposed to those that have flipped since then). I hope he gets the treatment he needs. I hope he becomes a great QB, I just don't see it happening.

Was there any doubt?

Thank god.
Thank god.
No one gives a fock.

Even if this is a symbolic move it shows the guy is humbled enough to realize he has to at least show he wants to change. We'll see how it turns out.

Then why are you posting multiple time in the thread?
You sound like every crazy ex that rants about "not caring"
This is a step in the right directions.

Tomato, tomato. Now it will be: "johnny has learned from his mistakes" and "I'm glad he's getting the help he needs"
The problem is that even if he works as hard as any QB in the league I still don't see him being a successful NFL quarterback, hope he proves me wrong.

And your personnel, scouting, coaching experience is..................................
Like me, you are likely little more than a 6-pack, armchair gurul
Too bad Farmer and Co. didn't consult with you first.

just to play the devil's advocate: that's the first thing you do if you want to impress the PR team when the public thinks you're an alcoholic. Example, you get busted for DUI, which there is no evidence he has but, and you check yourself into a a immediately. By the time your court case comes up you can tell the judge honestly that you voluntarily answered Alcoholics Anonymous and have been attending your meetings regularly. Makes it easier for your attorney to get you off the hook. If he believes he has a problem and is intent on overcoming it excellent. If its for show?
I am guessing there's a playbook and a quarterback coach to work with as well?

I was thinking the same thing.
JF going into rehab can only help matters. Probably can't get worse.
Sometimes I say that Rehab is only for quitters.
In this instance, I hope this 'quitter' get his act together and performs as hoped/expected.

Who says entering a rehab treatment center means being an "alcoholic".
Give it up Steve. The dude is an alcoholic.

I don't understand your comment. Who says entering a rehab treatment center means being an alcoholic? Given the loose definition of alcoholic I would suppose anyone. What's your point?

Good for Johnny to admit he might have a problem, I wish him all the personal success possible.
That said, its still a void at QB that will never be filled. You have an extreme raw prospect whom has just encountered another setback to improve his QB skill set.
Although I guess, if he does improve himself as a person he'll ultimately be more dedicated to his QB position.
I doubt he ever lives up to his hype, but at least he might not be in the media so much anymore.

I am not a judge, jury, alcohol/substance counselor, or qualified to make a diagnosis whether positive or negative.
What I am qualified to be, & what I will remain, is a supportive Fan.
I choose to look at his entering rehab as a courageous, positive step.
Good luck Johnny!
