Jonathan Paul Manziel

The Browns Board
16.0k 396 570.2k 1
  • Philadelphia Gives: Nick Foles, #52

Philadelphia Receives: Johnny Manziel, Josh Gordon

And takes them to Vegas to celebrate destroying all rehab and chances at a playoff shot all in one day.

I love the alternative universe ideas. Reminds me of the yellow brick road. Or in the case the goldbrick road.

  • What does Philadelphia want with Josh Gordon? Maybe we could throw in Mike Phillips. he will play as much.

And if Johnny is truly as bad as the haters say what value does he have to anyone in a trade?

    WSS

Getting warmer??? Certainly not as far fetched...

Don't know Franklin's worth. I see he had some late health questions, but has been dependable.

Love Hughes... I think Hughes & Hughes has a nice ring to it.

    Don't see Hartline's value.

Pot Roast? Don't know how big of an impact he brings beyond a nickname upgrade. Complementary guy in a rotation, but not an answer in and of himself.

Given that our search continues I don't mind the price for Mariota, but from what I've seen of future pick valuations the 2016 4th for 2015 5th is a stand-alone wash. Is there a reason to value that 5th this year?

I was hopeful for McKinney, but the more I watched him (and I've watched a decent bit) the less enthused I got. Quickly got to the point where I did not see him as a first round prospect. Now DraftScout has him as the 4th ranked ILB on their board and a 3rd rounder. Even trimmed down for workouts, I do not see him bringing the versatility Pet likes in an LB.

Great post Timmy. This could actually take place. You would be a genius on this board (next to gipper) if this happened.

  • We trade all our shit away and get AP, Ray Rice and MJD.

Any attention is good attention. Maybe everyone will forget we took Johnny Rehab.

    Even though MJD retired?

It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it...

  • Chris Johnson is available...lets pull the trigger on him!!! Too late 🙁

  • This won't happen. I live in Tampa and they're set on Winston or less likely, Mariota. Why would the Eagles want Josh Gordon and why would Tampa be so stupid to let Winston slip out of their grasp. Nobody in their right mind would make this trade.

Thanks for the inside information, Schefter.

Thats why it's called the "crazy speculation" thread......

  • Hypothetical trade just offered to me by friend and Jets writer - Browns trade #12, 3rd round pick and Manziel to New York in exchange for #5 and Geno Smith.

I said yes. In a heartbeat. I don't think there's a person alive who wouldn't say yes to that.

No way the Jets go for that.

Absolutely not. That's why its in this thread and not "Should we offer this".

The point in posting it is that there may be more interest in Manziel to outsiders than we give credit. The person that offered this hypothetical is knowledgeable, moreso than me, and he's been involved with the NFL for a while.

While it's likely nothing to this extent, I think there's a (likely large) faction that attribute Manziel's failures to mismanagement on our end.

    now that was funny!

hard to run that fast with all that gold in his mouth holding him down.

  • Everyone hates Johnny. At least Mallett can see over the O-Line and throw passes sober.

  • Bill already passed on him once (I know you aren't serious).
