I listened to this too and basically heard him say "he thinks" the Browns are done with him.....
Really....I dont hear anything new here..... just him speculating that the Browns aren't waiting on Johnny and them saying they can't count on him....(which is a lot different than them being "done" with him).....
If he isnt traded, he will be in camp and get every chance to be the man....guaranteed......But, thats it....Browns just aren't waiting another year to see if he figures it out....

It seems like this is the way of the Browns now regardless of name, status, draft round, contract - if you're in camp, you have a chance to be the starter if you're the best guy. See K'Waun Williams > Gilbert, Crowell > Tate, Gabriel > Burleson. It'll be no different for McCown, Manziel, Lewis, Shaw, and whoever else we pick up along the way.

No bets, no......honestly dont think we'll pick one early and im not high on any of the QB's(are the Browns?...dunno).....maybe one in the 3rd-4th?.....but, dont think they are enamored enough with the selection to go 1st or 2nd....Id say Petty, if anybody...

I see Mort more as being credible than any of the "get it first, worry about right later" crowd like Shefter or MKC. Mort's just a little more old school, multiple source, kinda guy...

he has been laughing the browns off for as many a year i can remember. and it's not like he's nice about it either. it's like he truly dislikes the franchise.
meanwhile his redskins are just as bad and the cubs are unfixable.

I wanted to see more shaw last year. His only start was against the Ravens, and they had a pretty stout defense. He was showing some gritt and got a lot of praise from the guys in the huddle. He was just not in a great system in SC, where he had to throw the ball 30-40 times a game. With Mack back and our solid running game, he could be pretty decent. As usual though, he wont get developed properly.

at some point in one's career when does it become your responsibility to develop yourself? coaches can only do so much per season. if he wants to get better, stay at the facility until midnite watching film, hit the gym religiously and hire an outside QB coach. if you still don't get the nod myabe you just aren't up to the task of being an NFL starter?
