Benny Hinn definitely needs to have the tax breaks.

Religious institutions are the real moochers...

How am I not indirectly subsidizing them?

Can a Christian bakery refuse to bake a cake for a bar mitzvah or for some Islamic holiday?

Both of those go against their religion. And those are actually fucking choices too, not genetics.

I think this whole issue is going to come down to "religious rights" vs. "civil rights"

            EVERYONE has civil rights

A lot of people don't have religion or want religion.

Everyone has religious rights according to the constitution. If they don't Obama should just go on TV and say "I'm eliminating certain sections of the Bill of Rights by executive order, fuck you all."

So when it comes down to it, what will it be? Civil rights or religious rights?

Mike Pence should have just waited for the rest of the common sense thinking people

to see the facist version of tolerance by the LGBT and the bully tactics from the likes of the hypocrite Tim Cook....

He and Indiana couldve had a Chic fila moment here. Maybe they still can.

Benny Hinn and others like him on television give Christians a bad name. For every Benny Hinn minister there are thousands who are not on television working with needy people and doing a good work in their community. I always thought for a television minister Billy Graham was very good and we need more like him today IMO.

I would just question someone becoming absurdly wealthy from preaching. I am sure Hinn and Graham could donate some of their money to worthy causes given how they got the money to begin with.

The pretense of "your rights end where my rights begin" and vice versa is now being shown to be a pretense, as is the long projected progressive notion of tolerance. . If you are compelling someone to do something against their religious beliefs then as Steve alluded to the other person's rights have been invalidated.

it is kind of shitty that some of these churches who are basically thinly veiled hate groups and oppose basically everything the govt does...then go and benefit from their 501 status.

Not really what they intended, they just did not want to be a theocracy or something similar, and knew how much the Vatican tried to run Europe in the centuries prior. They where almost all religious and wanted Christianity to play a part, but we as a society have moved further from religion and as such the term separation of church and state has been coined and imo for the better.
