  • I like Dr Carson fun but I don't think a preacher stance a chance just from electability standpoint.

Same for Mike Huckabee who I like even better.

Huckabee is on that "good ole boy, listen to Bubba, Real America" kick, right? No thanks. I know every politician panders, but that's just too much.

What was Huckabee's guvenatorial track record? Good?

Scott Walkers Guvenatorial Track Record? Good?

Kasich's? He did right the ship financially.

How about Gary Johnson's guvenatorial track record? The best off all of them?

A governors track record is relevant if he/she gets elected president and uses those same policies on a national scale.

  • I just thought Mike Huckabee thought on his feet and spoke well. Never seemed to be on the political fringe to me and was an affable cadidate. I'm assuming Woody knows little or nothing about him but thats to be expected.

Again I fear he's not electable.

As for the religious aspect I guess you need to decide what do your prefer someone who believes in it or lies about it. because of Barack Obama believed the s*** at the Church he attended week after week after week, well you understand. And none of his acolytes care about that.

  • Also, after reading comments in this thread and others, I wonder what the reaction would be if posters on here actively referred to Palin as a slut, bimbo, etc. Just kind of funny to me.

If the democrats were as lowly as the republicans there would be black cock jokes all over her for the time she swallowed Glen Rice to the root and then snorted coke with him. Funny to me too how the crassest most low brow people in this country also profess to be the staunchest followers of Christ. Who obviously would also refer to a black man in thinly veiled racial insults.

from 2012, looks like he is really right leaning for a few things(anti-abortion, gay marriage, and taxes) but a little more towards the center for some others(health care, economy, environment)

My biggest disagreement would be on Afghanistan which I think has been a waste of time money and lives (but it seems like Im outnumbered on the right and the left is afraid to speak against Obama. For most of the rest I'm probably slightly left but basically don't care, ie gay marriage which I think could be perfectly compromised with a civil union (even though I'd allow it if I were king), abortion (which is a matter of irresponsibility) and the death penalty (do it or not just don't start feeling sorry and let the bastard go later).

  • If all these guys, that are republicans, are not electable, then who is coming out of Cleveland in 2016 with the nomination?

  • @legacy-fan said:

Well if a 300 year old document, and a 2000 year old book have no relevance in today's world then what is the importance of what happened 6000 years ago? Or 6 billion years?

Because if we're just focusing on current achievements and consciousness, then I'll take the brain surgeon over whatever in the fuck it was Brandon Weeden did before he was elected to the Senate & White House.

The point is he believes the world is 6,000 years old. He took all of the evidence out there in the world, and his conclusion was to believe in a 6,000 year old Earth. That screams lack of common sense, reasoning, etc. That is why I wouldn't want him in charge.

    Meh, his doctorate would disagree.

Much more complicated deductive reasoning going on daily in his practice than the combined 1-44 presidencies.

You can search the forum in the 2008 time- frame and find out that exact reaction.

This statement shows how lost you are about what it takes to be president of the U.S The POTUS has to navigate landscapes with, we would hope, deductive reasoning on the level that even a brain surgeon would be hopelessly lost at. I'm not belittling brain surgeons but they don't deal with a "fraction" of the BS that presidents do. Think about it, brain surgeons make decisions that affect one person at a time. Presidents of even the smallest countries make decisions that can profoundly alter the lives of his entire country. Now think of the being the president of the most vast and complicated country on the planet. Not only do you have to make those decisions, you have to deal with the fallout from decisions made decades prior to you becoming president and in some cases possibly even before you were born. Iran is a great example, everything that transpires and has transpired between our countries goes all the way back to 1952. They Ayatollahs came to power after the Shah was ousted solely based on what happened in 1952. Ousting a democratically elected leader of a foreign country, such a small seemingly innocuous decision.....and it led to decades of horseshit and profoundly altered the future of that country. Iran is one of the most prime examples of why you stay the fuck out of other people's business.

No actually I was dead on the money. Never once saw one of those circulating emails about Palin knocking her tonsils out on some black cock but the Obama email....holy fuck they even went after his mother.

Me too. Dr. Carson would make a great president.

The current state of affairs with Obama reminds me of the Jimmy Carter years. Carter was also a weak president with a lousy economy during his term. To appreciate Ronald Reagan you had to live through the Carter years. The formula for job growth is not hard. Less taxes, less government regulations, get the government off the backs of the people and the economy exploded under Reagan with huge new job growth. Even with a college degree today young people are having a very hard time finding jobs with those degrees. Government does not create jobs, the private sector creates jobs. I read an article very liberal George McGovern wrote before he died. After retiring from the senate he opened a restaurant that went bankrupt. He said for the first time he saw how destructive all the government regulations and taxes were to the small business owner and if he had known as a senator what he learned as a business owner he would have never voted the way he did.

Brain surgeons have cabinet members, hordes of advisors, handlers, and multitudes of subject matter experts that advise them during surgery?? Hmmm that's new.

    Stop being so simple.

precisely, which "should" clue you in that you were wrong. The mere fact all of those people are necessary with "any" president should give you an idea of the nature of their decision making.
