This statement shows how lost you are about what it takes to be president of the U.S The POTUS has to navigate landscapes with, we would hope, deductive reasoning on the level that even a brain surgeon would be hopelessly lost at. I'm not belittling brain surgeons but they don't deal with a "fraction" of the BS that presidents do. Think about it, brain surgeons make decisions that affect one person at a time. Presidents of even the smallest countries make decisions that can profoundly alter the lives of his entire country. Now think of the being the president of the most vast and complicated country on the planet. Not only do you have to make those decisions, you have to deal with the fallout from decisions made decades prior to you becoming president and in some cases possibly even before you were born. Iran is a great example, everything that transpires and has transpired between our countries goes all the way back to 1952. They Ayatollahs came to power after the Shah was ousted solely based on what happened in 1952. Ousting a democratically elected leader of a foreign country, such a small seemingly innocuous decision.....and it led to decades of horseshit and profoundly altered the future of that country. Iran is one of the most prime examples of why you stay the fuck out of other people's business.

Me too. Dr. Carson would make a great president.

The current state of affairs with Obama reminds me of the Jimmy Carter years. Carter was also a weak president with a lousy economy during his term. To appreciate Ronald Reagan you had to live through the Carter years. The formula for job growth is not hard. Less taxes, less government regulations, get the government off the backs of the people and the economy exploded under Reagan with huge new job growth. Even with a college degree today young people are having a very hard time finding jobs with those degrees. Government does not create jobs, the private sector creates jobs. I read an article very liberal George McGovern wrote before he died. After retiring from the senate he opened a restaurant that went bankrupt. He said for the first time he saw how destructive all the government regulations and taxes were to the small business owner and if he had known as a senator what he learned as a business owner he would have never voted the way he did.

    Meh, his doctorate would disagree.

Much more complicated deductive reasoning going on daily in his practice than the combined 1-44 presidencies.

Brain surgeons have cabinet members, hordes of advisors, handlers, and multitudes of subject matter experts that advise them during surgery?? Hmmm that's new.

    Stop being so simple.

precisely, which "should" clue you in that you were wrong. The mere fact all of those people are necessary with "any" president should give you an idea of the nature of their decision making.

We have a huge debt problem. 18 plus trillion. Obama called Bush unpatriotic for having a debt of 9 trillion and selling the future of our children out to China. We have up to 100 trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities. We have had the worst economic recovery coming out of a recession since WW2. Job growth has never been good in 6 years under this administration. The stock market has been great. How much of that was due to government printing trillions of dollars?

On July 3, 2008 -- the day before Independence Day -- Barack Obama said that adding $4 trillion in debt was irresponsible and "unpatriotic.

Obama: The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents - #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back -- $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic.

I'm not completely in disagreement. What I know though is that Wall St told the govt to do that because they said if we go down you have no shot at all. Bush would have put us just as far in debt if they told him to. Both parties are beholden

I think they made wrong decisions, but I dont' think they're as bad as the left makes them out to be. Reagan I have a problem with though cause he really spun the wheels on govt spending. He started in earnest the deficit spending trend. I'm not a fan of raised taxes but it's also been made abundantly clear on what borrowed time you're leaning on when you spend what you don't have. Reagan bubbled out our economy hard but he's given a pass on it cause that's how we outspend the Soviets or "beat" them if you will.

  • And of course the Iraq war soured me on Bush. You all realize Isis is here today because of that war right? You DO NOT create power vacuums when you don't know for sure what's going to fill that vacuum.

  • A. Reagan had to invest $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ back into our defense budget because

carter was a dirtbag who cut our military spending a lot.

And yes, they cut taxes. Then the recession ended. Sounds good to me.

But it did inflate the deficit. Reagan wouldn't raise taxes on Americans individually,

but he did agree to raise the corp tax rates. And he wouldn't cut defense like Carter did,

he had to build it back up.

The recession started an entire year before Reagan became president. But of course, dishonest

liberals called it "Reagan's recession". But after over six years, they still defend Obamao and blame

everything on Bush II. Go figure. It's about political advantage for the left. And Reagan was dealing

with a split congress. Obamao had a few years? of Dem control over both houses, and yet they

did not pass one budget. go figure again.

Because people think it is too hard and don't want to put in the work in school. At least, that is one reason. An acceptance within society to be "bad at math" is another.

It will hurt our country over the long run, but I'll benefit. I've already benefited from it, and I imagine I'll have my choice of positions going forward.

  • I just thought Mike Huckabee thought on his feet and spoke well. Never seemed to be on the political fringe to me and was an affable cadidate. I'm assuming Woody knows little or nothing about him but thats to be expected.

Again I fear he's not electable.

As for the religious aspect I guess you need to decide what do your prefer someone who believes in it or lies about it. because of Barack Obama believed the s*** at the Church he attended week after week after week, well you understand. And none of his acolytes care about that.

I thought voting for the good orator was a poor choice?

What was wrong in my assessment? He recently wrote a book called "God, Guns, Grits and Gravy". He waives the "Real America" flag. Fuck that kind of pandering.

Government bailouts, politician pig-outs, and popular culture provocations from Jay-Z and BeyoncΓ© to Honey Boo-Boo to the Duck Dynasty's Robertson family. Gun rights, gay marriage, the decline of patriotism, and the mainstream media's contempt for those who cherish a faith-based life."
