  • In the 8th century BC the Egyptians believed the earth was flat. While I haven't read every study that suggests climate change is a modern problem nor have I read every response, I tend to hedge my bets on global preservation.

Yes yes yes the numbers say the climate is changing. No disagreement from me. I would also guess that mankind might have something of an effect on that. How much and what can or will possibly be done about that? I have absolutely no idea nor do most of the people here despite the ongoing screaming match.

I'm just repeating my matter since you just recently joined the fracas.

(my gut feeling is that those who claim it isn't happening at all are just doing so to rattle the cages of the few who seemed to be hyperventilating over it 😉 )

  • No, climate CHANGE is happening. It always has been.

But global warming is nonsense. I just posted an article about

    the ice expanding.

And 140 scientists want the UN to put up, or shut up.

    Not just Americans 😉

Seriously though, I don't own a car because I live in London. Everywhere I need to get to, I can. If I ever move out, I'd probably get a car, if I needed it, and I will happily rent a car when on holiday.

  • I couldn't imagine living in a place without a car in case of emergency.

  • now, now, Chris lives in England - and he's a lib, so he's entitled

to free transportation. On vacations, he walks down the cobblestone street,

    and buys himself a crumpet.

  • They have to pay for crumpets?

    😉

Ironically he's probably not a liberal over there.

I'm fairly central. If you think I'm liberal - hell, if you think Bernie Sanders is liberal - you should check out the (likely) new leader of the Labour party, Jeremy Corbyn.

Either way, regardless of my views I get painted as a conservative because I have a good education and a high paid job.

'79 Cadillac coupe deville w/ the 425 big block.

  • old Silverado, 5.3 v8. Never fails. AC doesn't work anymore but.... I'll run it to about 250,000 miles.

few years old Ford Escape with a six. It's a fantastic car.
