  • I've never heard Cal talk about dangers malaria poses in some countries. I can't believe you don't care about that.

Ikr? I for one want to make sure everyone knows that because I hven't ever brought up sudden infant death syndrome here, I don't care about your babies sudden deaths. I mean why would I? They should have been aborted anyway right? <----lols, who saw what I did there?

  • nah. We don't generally ever discuss diseases, nor do we discuss

the deaths of bables outside of abortion/murder. A lot of bad things happen,

but we are talking about politics.

right so just because someone's never brought up a specific point doesn't mean they don't care about it. It just never came up. Good to know. Next time you might try asking first before you accuse people of not giving a fuck about something. You could start that query off with "do you give a fuck about (insert noun)" try that sometime.

  • again, if we are discussing mmgw endlessly, for years, and it never comes up,

unless I or a couple of non-mmgw believers bring it up...

it is very obvious that you can't get libs to talk about it.

  • Please read to the end! The Washington Post
The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some
places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the
Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen, Norway.
Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical
change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic
    zone.
Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far
    north as 81 degrees 29 minutes, (81°, 29").
Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very
warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth
and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have
    entirely disappeared.
Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while
vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north,
are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.
Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will
rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.
I must apologize. I neglected to mention that this report was from
November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post -
    92 years ago.
  • In the 8th century BC the Egyptians believed the earth was flat. While I haven't read every study that suggests climate change is a modern problem nor have I read every response, I tend to hedge my bets on global preservation.

Yes yes yes the numbers say the climate is changing. No disagreement from me. I would also guess that mankind might have something of an effect on that. How much and what can or will possibly be done about that? I have absolutely no idea nor do most of the people here despite the ongoing screaming match.

I'm just repeating my matter since you just recently joined the fracas.

(my gut feeling is that those who claim it isn't happening at all are just doing so to rattle the cages of the few who seemed to be hyperventilating over it 😉 )

  • No, climate CHANGE is happening. It always has been.

But global warming is nonsense. I just posted an article about

    the ice expanding.

And 140 scientists want the UN to put up, or shut up.

Seriously though, I don't own a car because I live in London. Everywhere I need to get to, I can. If I ever move out, I'd probably get a car, if I needed it, and I will happily rent a car when on holiday.
