Winston, yes, way to early. But Newton has proven his capability as an NFL QB. Not superstardom yet. Needs more success in postseason...but he seems to on his way. I would take him now.

I was harsh on Newton the last couple seasons. NFL defenses appeared to had caught up with him and his reads were just.. slow.

However his footwork has been much more consistent, he's been more decisive and has become a better leader for his team. He may very well raise his ceiling more throughout the course of this season and beyond.

Dead on Tia. Still think S. Smith would have made him even better quicker & the hell out of our division. Sticking with tread next time you see Manziel, Eagles, Houston(Hoyer got ya) or Big D, Dez will want out..

  • JFF don't play, Pettine and Farmer go. That simple. Bank it.

Fucking drunk women and all the bad shit they do 😵

yeah you know when the neighbors call when shit is getting broke in your house and people are screaming and the guy comes out with a knife wound in his gut and the woman say 'he assaulted me' with no evidence whatsoever.....yet they arrest the man and throw him into the 'pigpen' jail cell where that knife wound is now fuckable.

And there is always some dude that wants to piss on somebody.....why is there always someone wanting to piss in jail?

Warren Moon was not elite? Better call the HOF...

Me, too. Simply did not see his "game". But it appears he has one now that is hard to miss.

  • @douche-nozzle said:

No.....I was referring to Vick's lauded travels. He was an amazing athlete who couldn't play the QB position but was hyped due to his heritage. Then he commits atrocities and goes to jail and is then mentored by the NFL (Tony Dungee) to bring him back for one more attempt at being the first elite black QB. Then he is kept around when he is absolute garbage.

    Sad but true.

As far as the others you mention, you can see they did the same thing with Kaepernick, and it's waaaay too early to tell with Winston and Newton who are probably the best of the bunch.

The First Elite Black QB IMO was Warren Moon. And then you had Steve "air" McNair.

  • Because the coach is the face of the team.

Not the general manager, not the owner and not the president. Tony Grossi has been anti Johnny since before he came to Cleveland.

gee, i wonder why. Maybe he did better investigative work on the kid than our owner and gm did because i guarantee you this, his alcoholism did not begin once he was drafted by the browns...

I normally loathe reading Tony Grossi, but at least he's asking the same question I am.

Where in the hell was Farmer, Haslam, or even Scheiner Monday afternoon while the HC is being grilled about JM?

Let's face it, Pettine isn't the guy responsible for bringing the circus to town.

    Great read. . .

Couldn't agree more. This is the GM and an owner issue. The problem is neither Haslam or Farmer want to answer the real question which is, "you used a first round draft pick on a guy who doesn't contribute on the field and is a constant headache to the organization, where do you go from here". Also there would probably be a couple of "Ray do you feel that your absence due to suspension has hampered the teams decision making", "Ray do you feel between the Josh Gordon issue, Justin Gilbert's driving incident and the off the field distractions of Johnny Manziel, that there isn't organizational control" and "Jimmy we are two seasons into the Pettine/Farmer era and it appears that the results are eerily similar to previous seasons". Neither likes to answer hard questions and they hung Pettine out to dry.

you gotta luv it, here is a kid in gilbert who our gm recommended and now all he does is stand in the endzone and watch footballs fly over his head...wonderful, just wonderful.

  • Tell josh's boy with his same hair style to get rid of those Weeden eyeball looks. Not in Cleveland please.. Manziel for some reason is in the hands of the league. None of our FO can say anything & Coach Pet is their to talk Game prep about players. If the NFL only goes by video & Police Report only. JM did not Hit his women in the head. Will they believe a drunk women, now that's a whole different story..

I remember being young and actually trying to get them drunk.....hahaha......I was so stupid then.....

  • Browns52--Its called self pitty than depression. After the high of Titians Win, Josh goes back to starter. If you were 21 most would fall back on their bad habits in depression. She is it. Image how Josh feels trying to help the Kid. One day, & I hope the kid sees it but love does some crazy stuff. Krugers right, She is not right for him but JM must figure that one out. They don't babysit in this league and I do see articles that JM is still seeking help from the right people again that's a positive for now.

if it was her, that is still not good for chonnie. One thing rehab should have taught him, was not only can he not drink anymore, but he cannot hang around drunks or go back to places, i.e. bars etc, that he once used to hang out at.

No doubt. I've said that repeatedly. Just saying she has pretty much no credibility here.

I sincerely doubt that a Cleveland beat writer did more pre-draft investigation of a prospect than an NFL franchise did. C'mon with that nonsense.

It doesn't seem that Grossi knows his ass from a hole in the ground about anything else.

There's no apology needed for the situation. He's the head coach and he's the guy you ask no matter what's going on with the team. I would say instead of getting your panties in a bunch about this he might want to be the apologist for the highest paid defense in the league.

    WSS

During the deflategate shit storm, you saw more of Kraft than Bill.

A competent FO would show a little more unity than what's coming out of Berea.

At least my panties are dry, cause I'm not a charter member of the JM knob riding club.

1 because Bill Belichick is more important than Bob Kraft.

2 unity? On this non-issue that nobody cares about except some cry babies?

3 call it what you will.

You should probably check those supposedly dry panties though they might be wet from all the tears you are shedding over this non issue.

And I ain't ashamed. I don't hate any Cleveland Brown unless they really really give me a reason.

  • I know this has been and still is being said, HE IS NOT OUR STARTER so who gives a fuk, Why is he a distraction? Don't let it be one. If he was not a qb it would not be a distraction.

  • 1 loss and we'll see Johnny. The loss of McCown to injury.

  • What the hell's the difference? Until the losses can be laid at the feet of Josh McCown why would you make a switch?

(and that's coming from one of Johnny's fans, me.)

Plus a number of pretty darn good ones through the years.....Williams, Cunningham, Evans, etc....

Truth is, that back in the day, almost all of the potential black QB's ended up at WR, RB, CB, etc...

FYI.....Brownies had a black dentist playing for us in the 70's.....Dr. David Mays.....remember him well......
