  • Why is it fair game to ask Hillary questions about her past dealings and current stuff with the Clinton foundation, but Carson gets asked about supporting snake oil where he was clearly all over the product and this is unfair tabloid questioning?

  • "Yes, they employed me to speak about their product; I love their product; I take the product; but no, I'm not involved in the product."

Let's assume he's not. That he's on their website without his consent. A) That's honestly a bit dim - doesn't he have people who are supposed to take care of that for him? 😎 He's basically still endorsing a product that claims to cure cancer/autism/whatever; when he's running on the platform of "being president isn't brain surgery!" he's really doing himself no favours by coming across as hugely misinformed about the treatment of those conditions.

Carson is a likable, nice guy. Whenever he comes under criticism he says "you're wrong" and people just seem to be captivated by his gentle voice and forget about it.

Aside from Trump, who is grilled all the time, the rest of the GOP field seems to get soft balled by their peers - like Rubio, Fiorina, Bush (and his backdoor deal with Lehman bros' for FL retirement accounts - nobody talks about it), etc.

It's pretty much guaranteed that come general election time though, there won't be any soft balls from the Clinton side.

  • I didnt watch the Hillary show so I cannot say for certain if she even received such a question - my guess is that she didnt...

secondly I couldnt give a rats ass if Carson represented that company - the point was how the question was framed

by the CNBC panel guy and his follow up questioning Carsons vetting and his judgement.

Where the audience even distinguished the gotcha crap and Carson laughs it off and points out clearly -

    " see they know! " ' Brilliant!

  • pssst MSM is DNC's Super PAc!! - Marco Rubio

  • The follow up wasn't good. It seemed like the guy was clutching at straws, when all he had to say was "really, you honestly expect us to believe that you have zero connection with the company you have endorsed and are on the website for, and continue to endorse on your podium?" and Carson would have been in trouble. As it is, he got a big get out of jail free card with the audience on side.

I think Rubio did well, but I still don't like his justification about hating, not voting, and not running for re-election in the senate.

Carson did OK but didn't have much thrown his way.

    Cruz did pretty well

Trump did OK, the personal senator gaffe didn't look so good - he actually said a weakness which was a surprise, otherwise did fine

Everybody else I'd call a loser (Bush big time), except maybe Kasich and Christie who did fine. Kasich let off the gas after the first 10 minutes I think that was a mistake.

I think Carson hit a homerun here - with the help of the audience....

That was my favorite moment of the debate. The moderators sucked.

Carson - Cruz and Rubio's keen awareness of CNBC panel agenda and pointing it out...

and because Trump has shown that it is ok to kick theyre asses over stupid questions

Clinton got saved from the email question by Sanders, who said "WE'RE TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT IT" before she could answer. She ducked and dodged some other stuff, but it was pretty much soft balls.

The moderator failed in that regard when he went straight to it altering his personal judgement or however the end Q was.

The bottom line is: Carson has been directly involved with Mannatech for YEARS (and even endorsed their product on the stage!) - but he said it's total propaganda and false.

Carson called it "propaganda", the moderator failed and turned it into more of a personal attack.

  • he moderator failed and turned it into more of a personal attack.

    because its business as usual....

  • I thought all the candidates did well except one, Jeb Bush. I believe he made a huge mistake in attacking Rubio on missing votes in the senate right after Rubio had just knocked that question by the moderator out of the park . Rubio then knocked it out of the park against Jeb Bush. I think Jeb Bush the republican establishment candidate is done.

I thought carson failed there. If there's really no affiliation between him and the magic pixie dust cure-all company, than he should have quited the crowd and said I got this. Instead it looks like the crowd got him out of a tough but fair question. Hilllary has to answer about her past dealings all the time, also current Clinton foundation stuff. It's fair to ask a former neurosurgeon why he's supporting this company that apparently makes false medical claims. If there is no affiliation why is he allowing his likeness on their website and why does he do speeches for them?

It was still a blatant lie by Carson

Attacking Rubio is something that should have been done. The guy said he hates the senate which is why he doesn't vote and isn't running for re-election, now he's running for the top executive position - It's like the Office Space approach

Jeb Bush is pretty much incompetent at everything though and turned it into a win for Rubio, I agree Jeb was the biggest loser on the stage.

Rand Paul didn't shine I think he needed to, pretty much a lot of the field are already losers and they just did nothing to change that - though Fiorina sucked and will probably lose even more support.

I,m not real familiar with this but Carson did say if the website was using his image on their website they were doing it without his permission but I would agree asking him why he does paid speeches for them was fair game.

  • best part of the debate was Rubio nailing Jeb to the wall. Jeb miscalculated there, he should have shut up and anticipated Rubio's clean rebuttal. Jeb looked like a kid been smacked by his folks.

Bush had prepared for that line against Rubio going into the debate. Very bad political instincts of him to bring it up when he did. He should have been wise enough to see that and not go there after seeing how Rubio had just handled that question. The bottom line is these candidates are all better off in the debates going after Hillary Clinton than each other.

If it was without his permission I can't fault him for that.

  • May have been without permission, maybe it was who knows. The guy has many statements, videos, endorsements etc. pretty much all the way up until his campaign started - so his affiliation with them is not total propaganda, as he says.

It's probably not the biggest deal in the world - all the candidates have done shammy things for money, I'm much more opposed to many other things about him, but I wouldn't call it a "debate win" moment because he was still wrong - and he is a doctor pushing a snake oil supplement as an alternative cancer treatment - could be bad for people who bought into it.

The picture is pretty much trivial compared to all of the other things he's done for/about/with them.

  • funny that the so called "lie" of the night belonged to Carson ... smh

and there was absolutely NO scrutiny over Hillary regarding her email to Chelsea.

pick and choose people - pick and choose
