Kasich is likely done

I thought all the candidates did well except one, Jeb Bush. I believe he made a huge mistake in attacking Rubio on missing votes in the senate right after Rubio had just knocked that question by the moderator out of the park . Rubio then knocked it out of the park against Jeb Bush. I think Jeb Bush the republican establishment candidate is done.
-
I think Rubio did well, but I still don't like his justification about hating, not voting, and not running for re-election in the senate.
Carson did OK but didn't have much thrown his way.
Cruz did pretty well
Trump did OK, the personal senator gaffe didn't look so good - he actually said a weakness which was a surprise, otherwise did fine
Everybody else I'd call a loser (Bush big time), except maybe Kasich and Christie who did fine. Kasich let off the gas after the first 10 minutes I think that was a mistake.
I think Carson hit a homerun here - with the help of the audience....
That was my favorite moment of the debate. The moderators sucked.

I thought carson failed there. If there's really no affiliation between him and the magic pixie dust cure-all company, than he should have quited the crowd and said I got this. Instead it looks like the crowd got him out of a tough but fair question. Hilllary has to answer about her past dealings all the time, also current Clinton foundation stuff. It's fair to ask a former neurosurgeon why he's supporting this company that apparently makes false medical claims. If there is no affiliation why is he allowing his likeness on their website and why does he do speeches for them?

he moderator failed and turned it into more of a personal attack.
because its business as usual....

It was still a blatant lie by Carson

Attacking Rubio is something that should have been done. The guy said he hates the senate which is why he doesn't vote and isn't running for re-election, now he's running for the top executive position - It's like the Office Space approach
Jeb Bush is pretty much incompetent at everything though and turned it into a win for Rubio, I agree Jeb was the biggest loser on the stage.
Rand Paul didn't shine I think he needed to, pretty much a lot of the field are already losers and they just did nothing to change that - though Fiorina sucked and will probably lose even more support.

I,m not real familiar with this but Carson did say if the website was using his image on their website they were doing it without his permission but I would agree asking him why he does paid speeches for them was fair game.

best part of the debate was Rubio nailing Jeb to the wall. Jeb miscalculated there, he should have shut up and anticipated Rubio's clean rebuttal. Jeb looked like a kid been smacked by his folks.

Bush had prepared for that line against Rubio going into the debate. Very bad political instincts of him to bring it up when he did. He should have been wise enough to see that and not go there after seeing how Rubio had just handled that question. The bottom line is these candidates are all better off in the debates going after Hillary Clinton than each other.

He said it was without permission.

May have been without permission, maybe it was who knows. The guy has many statements, videos, endorsements etc. pretty much all the way up until his campaign started - so his affiliation with them is not total propaganda, as he says.
It's probably not the biggest deal in the world - all the candidates have done shammy things for money, I'm much more opposed to many other things about him, but I wouldn't call it a "debate win" moment because he was still wrong - and he is a doctor pushing a snake oil supplement as an alternative cancer treatment - could be bad for people who bought into it.
The picture is pretty much trivial compared to all of the other things he's done for/about/with them.
-
funny that the so called "lie" of the night belonged to Carson ... smh
and there was absolutely NO scrutiny over Hillary regarding her email to Chelsea.
pick and choose people - pick and choose

Well somebody said it was Carson's best debate moment, so it's relevant to the discussion.
Others lied too, like Trump on the Zuckerberg H1B visas thing, Christie on SSecurity going bankrupt (currently funded for ~20 more years, easy to save in that time), etc, etc.
I think the Mannatech thing is hardly the worst thing about Carson really - it's not very good but if you can get past the million other things that suck about him then it's small potatoes.
-
On the Trump lying about disagreeing with Zuckerberg the moderator even messed up on that when she was right. Trump denied it then the moderator said she didn't know where she had gotten the information and Trump said he didn't know either as the media are the ones who write these stories. The moderator then apologized. Fact checking showed she was correct all along but she should have been prepared when she asked the question and she wasn't. Sloppy.
Christie was right about the social security trust fund having been stolen and replaced with IOU's. Both parties guilty there.
-
If it was without his permission I can't fault him for that.
A man like Carson would sue you "instantly" if he thought you were attaching his likeness to your product without his consent. So it's possible he never gave legal permission so he has this way out later, but he still knew they were using him to hawk their product. Saying anything to the contrary on his part, when he wsa so closely involved with them....is absurd.

Disagree Cleve. If it comes out later he did agree to allow them to use his image he will have a huge problem and I don't think he lied about that. I agree however if he is doing paid speeches it is at the minimum an indirect endorsement.

Mannatech will probably say sorry and that's it, forget about it. The image is still irrelevant in comparison to all of the other things he's done for them and statements he has made. As a well respected surgeon, endorsing a product that claims to be an alternative cure to cancer is a VERY dangerous thing - because your opinion is by far and away way more credible than you know, somebody who isn't a famous neurosurgeon.
Mannatech is just another borderline pyramid scheme MLM fraud that got into hot water for saying their product cured cancer.
-
Apparently the pills don't help with memory, since he starred in a commercial for them.
-
I agree with the point you have to be careful in the products you endorse because of the reason you stated: "As a well respected surgeon, endorsing a product that claims to be an alternative cure to cancer is a VERY dangerous thing - because your opinion is by far and away way more credible than you know, somebody who isn't a famous neurosurgeon."
This infomercial might fall under what Carson admitted to having done some paid speeches for this company.

Didn't the moderator than come back to the topic and say she found it on his own website?

She did but I thought it was too late at that point. She should have been ready to confront Trump at the time he denied it. She missed the moment by not being prepared and then making an unnecessary apology.

Yes, but she should have had the source in front of her when she asked the question - not come back to it later on.
I actually agreed with the stance on H1B's that was on his website mostly, but maybe because many of them are in my type of field and drive down labor costs and take money they make out of the economy to wherever they come from. Limiting the amount of H1B's is probably a good thing but now nobody knows where Trump stands on it.
