  • I saw johnny make a lot of good throws today. I don't know what the johnny haters were watching but I was watching a kid give his all to attempt to beat our nemesis.

  • mccown is a gamer. looks like manziel might be too.

start manziel the rest of the year so a decision can finally be made and the nonsense in-fighting between fans/friends will stop.

it's as bad as talking politics and religion on here anymore.

give manziel an assault rifle, let him punch his drunk pregnant girlfriend in the gut while he's high and going into a grade school.......

  • Walter,

+1 on this thread. Johnny wasn't the only one playing with heart, but the kid did the Browns proud today...certainly prouder than the vaunted 'defensive experts".

We're seeing this after just FIVE starts. Bortles, Bridgewater, & Carr each have had MANY more starts & each of them play under Offensive Coordinators with extensive experience as NFL Offensive Coordinators as opposed to Johnny playing under a ROOKIE NFL Offensive Coordinator with no previous experience calling plays at the NFL level.

For those who still dislike Johnny, please open your eyes & watch him play. You might even like what you see.

    Mike

  • Don't get me wrong. May as well play him....kinda like saying "hire the handicapped. They're fun to watch"

  • And for the love of christ hire Bernie kosar and give him some authority. Is he a drunk? Maybe. Is he punchy? Maybe. Does he understand football? Better than anyone the browns have hired in 15 years. Does he love the browns? Absolutely.

didn't lerner try that with the most famous 'brown' of all?

    how'd that work out?

And because we clearly have so many holes to fill, it would be best for the team if Johnny can be the starter long term. I'm not sure if he can or not but it certainly would be better to not have to draft a QB next year and we can fill some of the damn holes on defense.

Jim Brown? He doesn't have the football iq kosar has

I wish I could give you +10 for this! You have absolutely NAILED it & Bernie is the shot in the arm the Browns need!

    Thank you CK,

    Mike

  • For all the Teddy Twatwater fans - listen to Greg Cosell talk about him. He's not any better than Christy Ponder was at being a game manager carried by Adrian Peterson to playoffs except this time he has a much better defense while our's forfeits weekly. Yep, just find 1 scapegoat and there's nothing but flawless football to follow. I've listened to this bullshit since all we needed to do was chase a 3rd round Colt McCoy outta town. Then we got the bionic arm of Weeden with the eye sight of Helen Keller and wow did it ever get fun around here. BTW, guess what QB outplayed RG3 last year? Colt McCoy so where did all the RG3 fans vanish to?

How many own that? How many of the same geniuses are telling us Johnny isn't the answer right now just 5 starts into things? Be careful who you listen to folks.

Don't forget all your takes about Haloti Ngata when you were certain he was way too overrated for us coming out of college Mark. You were just as outspoken and how did that work out for you? We get it - you think getting rid of Johnny makes us an undefeated team. You're wrong. If Josh was the answer - he wouldn't be too beat up to answer the bell. He'd answer the bell and be something better than a very pretty 1-6 with him starting. Good Lord, look what you're rooting for here.

  • well tom i think there might be only 2-3 teddy crossdresser fans still bitching about not picking him, they're also the ones complaining about watkins.

and one of them is your new fave friend.....mr. walter white.

First....I never said anything about Ngata and certainly didn't have a lot of takes on the subject....I don't watch enough college football to have any opinion so you're confusing me with someone else. I never said get rid of Johnny.. Jesus Christ...read what I posted. I never once said get rid of him or that we would be undefeated if he wasn't on the team. I've said that it doesn't matter who plays QB and what we saw today proves that point completely. So every Johnny fag who was telling us that we would have won games earlier in the season if Johnny had played were completely wrong. ITS NOT THE QB!!! I said it would be better for the team for Johnny to be the answer. I don't know if he is or isn't, i've seen 5 games and while today was pretty good...he's had some shitty starts as well. He should play so we can see if we need a QB or not. I'd rather not need a QB so we can fill the holes on this piss poor defense that gives up 30 every single game.

You were very outspoken about how overrated you felt Ngata was and you've been just as outspoken about Manziel Mark. Now you're going to pretend you haven't been about either? You said you lived out in San Diego so you saw a ton of Pac 12 Football and to trust you that Ngata was overrated from all that you had seen pre-draft. I remember because when you feel strongly about something - you don't just post it once - for example your certainty about Johnny before starts #4 and 5..

You'd rather NEED a QB so we're going to lose out and here's your dream come true with the margin of error of the worst defense of your lifetime. Enjoy because you're getting exactly what you're wishing for.

  • Johnny played very good today. The kid does play with heart,he wants to win. Unfortunately his recievers, other than Barnedge, are barely nfl worthy.Pettine, and Farmer need to go.The penelties tell the tale....no discipline!!! I think that BK should be our GM,and i dont know who should coach. And for you dicks that are always putting Bernie down, acting like he is a drunk,i dont believe that.I talked with him briefly Sat morning, and that is how he talks. He talks that way because he got his ass kicked laying it all out for his home town.Listen to what he says,he is very intelligent. I want him involved!!!

  • love bernie. don't know if he's GM material like an ozzie newsome.

but bernie talks. just. like you. like to. type.

  • Agree about Teddy, he isn't very good

I want to see Johnny play out the season. I do feel he can be our long term starter & we certainly would be far better off NOT having to draft a QB next year. As far as defense goes, we need to fill some holes, but I am not sure whether or not the biggest problem with our D is scheme.

Bullshit Tom....I never had any opinion on him. Not a single one. In fact in my history on this and all the other boards, I rarely have too strong of an opinion on any player because I don't watch enough college football.

Again....read what I fucking wrote...it would be better for the team if he is the answer. I'll say it again....IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR THE TEAM IF HE IS THE ANSWER!!! Do you get it now? Our defense sucks....it doesn't fucking matter who plays QB...THE DEFENSE SUCKS! Which is what a lot of us have been saying all season. McCown...Manziel...Davis...Spergeon Wynn....it doesn't fucking matter until the defense can maybe hold a team under 30 points. Id rather not need a QB. Id love for Johnny Manziel to turn into Tom Brady...or hell turn into looking like Carr and Bridgewater and the rest. Maybe he can....I hope he can. I hope I'm wrong about him. Personally, no i don't think he can be the answer because he's not big enough and his off field problems are going to keep him stepping on his dick just enough to cause problems. I don't have an agenda here other than wanting the Browns to win games. I think we should play him the rest of the way and hopefully he plays as well as he did today and continues to improve. We have 80000 holes on this team and being able to fill them rather than taking a QB would be a big help to the team.

You're competely and totally wrong about Ngata. I never had anything to say about him. Most likely, I had never even heard of him. I never watch Pac 12 football unless its a bowl game.

81%. Soooo many missed reads. Lol

You can also fuck off. It was a jab at Walter. FYI though Completion % and missed reads can be independent of each other. That 81% has resulted in 9 fucking points. I know though, it's everyone's fault but Johnnies. Overall he isn't looking so bad. I just like throwing up the softball for you fan boys.

OK, Hawkins coughs the ball up. Benjamin drops a TD that hit him in the hands.

Start Manziel for the rest of the season. Someone please tell me why not.

    ^+!

    @flugel said:

Why is it every time Manziel hooks up with Benjamin - it's the longest reception of the season for Cleveland? Not bad for a weak arm but was it in the pocket or out of the pocket? Gotta debunk something right?

Come on Front Office - Don Strock is only in his 60s and you don't have him signed yet? Oh wait, we have the previously unemployed phenom Austin Davis that got a wonderful contract. Definitely worthy of tenure here in Cleveland. He's clearly the answer to all our problems.

We're back to preseason football with 6-7 games left on the schedule and people are convinced Manziel is the biggest evil here?

We're about 30 years away from winning a playoff game after punting away the entire career of Joe Thomas. Proud moments folks - proud moments. Just scapegoat another QB we drafted as 100% of all our problems and all your problems are solved. I've watched this sequel play out since the NFL buried our proud tradition.

Quote Paul Kruger after the game "we have to figure out what we do best". Should have figured it out 10 games ago. Really? Welcome to "Lost in Space.".
