I will get back to you when I have an equally dicked up system
If you had anything, you would have put it out already.
All you'll ever do is talk -- because doing something substantive requires more effort than you've ever put into anything in your life.

Someone seems awfully upset about having someone disagree with them about a website that rates football players. Life must be a series of distressing events for you.

When Josh Gordon comes back next year, Johnny will have his bearings, took his lumps and Good ol' Josh Gordon can run right underneath those bombs ala Antonio Brown. Keep Benji, pick either one of Hawk or Gabe and cut Bowe. Keep Hartline. Pick up another WR threat in the Draft. Get a FB. Tryout Trent Richardson and see where he's at, if he's gotten better we could double-dip in the draft.

This appears to be your go to whenever you ge called out. Life must be a series of worthless criticisms for you.

I didn't even mention you so I don't know why you are swinging your purse about it.
You still sending e-hugs to Gilbert on Twitter to raise his spirits?

But back to the point, Sally and Rainman. Check the PFF ratings from the Browns/Steelers game and tell me their ranking system makes any sense at all.

Oh the argument that I should come up with an alternative system if I want to make any complaints about PFF's inconsistent rankings?

Gonna weigh in on the whole PFF thing, because as usual, it seems people have to go to one extreme or another....IE: It's either GREAT or it SUCKS completely......(no middle ground, as is the case way too often around here)
I see most people miss-using it, by just considering the player "grades" as rankings, instead of just scores......and there is a difference...
PFF is not the end all - beat all, its just a tool. And, like any tool, you have to understand how to use it. Too many writers and fans see a grade and then immediately assume that is a "rank"......whatever.....and those grades are rarely an apples to apples comparison, so comparing grades is a waste of time in many instances....
The good thing about PFF is they show many stats you cant see elsewhere and they have a metric system that allows you to see things in a different light....IF your willing to dig and see those things. ...but most arent. ....Instead, people look at the one grade and make determinations that are just wrong..
Here's an extreme example: A 3rd grader takes a math test and gets a grade of 100%. A 6th grade student also takes a math test and gets a grade of 60%. Both their grades are posted on the same bulletin board......then someone looks at the board and assumes that the guy with 100% is smarter and better at math than the guy with 60%.....because he's lazy and only looking at the grade......BUT, a deeper look would show that they had taken different tests, at different levels and with different expectations.....and, by looking deeper, they might be able to figure out that the 6th grader is actually smarter than the 3rd grader.....(even though he has a lower grade)
Its really that simple.....
So.....if you completely discount PFF and their system....Id say you just dont know how to use it properly.....
And....if you just pull down those grades and consider it a "ranking within the league", without looking deeper into how and why those grades are there.....then Id say you are miss using it as well.....
Its grades.....not Rank......

Would you say that Big Ben had a better game than Johnny? If you are PFF, you would grade him lower even though he had nearly the same yards and completion percentage but had two more TDs. To me that just seems ridiculous.
-
And who the hell wants the first pic anyway?
WSS
You are right lets go 8-8!!! I love the 17th pick!!
17th player is usually a decent player without much hoopla and without the high salary. Number 1 pick? Too much pressure on the guy had too much expectation from stupid fans that think he will be in the Hall of Fame after his first season. You are right lets go 8-8!!! I love the 17th pick!!
I personally rather have 3 sorted second rounders that one first pick.

Again, this is exactly what Im talking about....you are making Bens game and Johnnys game an apples to apples comparison.....and they both faced different things, with different tools and had to execute different plays against different fronts.....you are WAY over simplifying it....and their individual scores should not be compared to determine who had the better game.....
-
No, that argument is bad too. But you haven't actually laid out any sort of case against it. You're just saying it sucks. And your last post where you actually attempted to make your case just confirmed how bad your argument is. Stats in a vacuum? That's all you've got? Really?

Couple quick thoughts as I wander by on my bye week...
On the thread theme:
Johnny Football is not getting the starts; Johnny Manziel is.
On Pet getting "outside help" with the decision:
I've no doubt he got buy in from Haslam that the playoffs are gone and JM showed enough promise to make the time is right. Beyond that folks are just pissing into the wind.
On the PFF detour:
Mud, nailed it. PFF is a systematic process of player evaluation that generates individual scores. While still subjective it is so on a micro level. As such, mistaken evaluations may exist, but will be overwhelmed by a massive number of spot-on ones.
That said it can not be "proven" to be superior to any other method because there is no objective standard for comparison.
One area where PFF falls short is when it tries, or its subscribers try, to determine "the best Line" by summing the scores of the individuals. It misses the contribution of how well a given Line functions together... one of the other sources of our 2015 O-line issues.
-
Tour, that last paragraph is spot on.
-
Weve given up the most sacks, we can't run the ball, we lead the league in false starts and are like top 5 in holds. PFF cant rate offensive line play obviously.I will be reposting this in every single thread where someone asserts that the O line is terrible.
The O-line is the second best in the league.
The problem with the run game is not the O line.
If you think otherwise, you're objectively wrong. If being wrong is your thing, don't change!

Not to get in the PFF debate- but I just went back and took another look at this year's Ravens game. Five weeks down the road- the team is still making the same dumb penalties. I guess "play like a Brown" means play stupid and get called for penalties that lose games.
From that article. Though isn't Canfora an avowed Browns hater?
"Sticking with McCown at this point might not quite be akin to a coaching mutiny, and Pettine certainly has the ability to start players as he sees fit per his contract, but to disregard a sentiment this sweeping would serve to only further divide a building that has long suffered from issues between personnel and coaching and would call Pettine's decision-making further into question internally if not externally."

If you think this dipshit that can't beat two so called backups out for the starting job is going to turn out you have your head in the sand

Yes, it would appear so. La Canfora seems to get a lot of traction from shitting on the Cleveland Browns assumedly because it gets him a lot of notice in the area which translates into more nationwide attention. Not to get in the PFF debate- but I just went back and took another look at this year's Ravens game. Of course I've heard his name used with glee when he's bashing Johnny.
I doubt that any of us have much of a clue as to what actually happens in the soap opera and discussed here and in the media on a daily basis. Still somebody has to sell all that bee pollen

My distain for little Johnny runs deep. When he was drafted it was a slap to the face. It's showed a owner wanting to sale jerseys not win game. I said when he was drafted it would set the team back four years, and it might be longer. Little Johnny couldn't beat out two so called back ups for the starting job. Regardless of what you fan boys think the coaches know he can't play hence why he only starts when everyone else is hurt. Why Hoyer was ever let go just to bring in another qb that's about the same. Granted McCown has play great dispit getting killed. But Hoyer was holding the line and playing good enough to win let's remember how good it was until Mack got hurt yet even while winning all we heard was chants for Johnny. Then we get him and its dog shit. Until Johnny is gone be will be an infection on this team and if your looking for a running game forget that teams are going to make him throw. Pittsburgh has a bad defense the weakest we will see the rest of the way. The IR is calling and little Johnny will soon answer.

49ers are easily much worse then the Stoolers. Ravens are also just as bad, if not worse. Chiefs are average. Seattle is GREAT statistically, despite what the record says. And the Bungles..... Well, we saw how that went
