Just pulling your chain Z. Some days you're too easy. 😁

  • I agree 100% TCPO. I all so feel that if we had a Tom Brady at QB he would make guys like us look like Pro Bowl wide outs. It has been to long since we knew what it was like to win. The closest was 07 when we had Anderception as our QB but it was bullshit, We had a guy who was way past his prime in JJ a wanna be star in K2 and our number 1 wr was BE who only caught a pass when he felt like it but they kept us in the games. I just want wins and I want them now.

I'm of the firm belief that, on almost any passing play in the NFL, every WR is open at some point.

    • A smart QB knows when his wide receiver is open, where he'll be open at and can deliver it. There are maybe 12-15 of these QB's in the league. Neither Anderson nor Quinn were generally smart QB's.
    • An accurate QB can throw with such pinpoint accuracy that he will throw his WR open even . There are maybe 8 of these QB's in the league. Neither Anderson nor Quinn were generally accurate QB's.
    • A smart, accurate QB does both - there are maybe 3-5 of these QB's. These are the guys who can excel with anyone, anywhere, anytime.

If you aren't one of the above mentioned QB's, you better sure as shit have some great WR's, a RB who can keep the defense honest, or a TE that can snag some balls - Dalton happens to have all three.

I'm not saying Dalton isn't talented, because he is. He's a good quarterback and I wouldn't mind at all if we had him. But he benefits tremendously from just having great talent around him.

  • Hugh Jackson will make a deal for AJ McCarron. AJ knows the system and we're a step ahead at the gate.

And what should we be willing to part with to land this former 5th round pick who is now apparently a key part of our future?

Seeing as how AJ was my 2014 Darkhorse, I'm as big an AJ fan as there is here. But folks here really need to suppress their reflexive, "flavor-of-the month", inner GM...

I would like to draft Tom Brady in the 6th round.

There is no such thing as over drafting a player. The position of your pick is designed to HELP your team, NOT to set a ratings competition for how much value you got compared to other picks.

The Browns need a QB. Whether Goff or Lynch will pan out better, nobody knows. But, you don't take Bosa when you have no QB.

It would be as foolish as the Joe Thomas pick.......a fully loaded tank.............to protect an empty store room.

I prefer Lynch, don't know much about Goff. Either way, the Browns need to take the best available QB, in their estimation, when they pick.

You had it, then you lost it, then you got it right back.

Seemed to be the case until this year when every single, Super QB looked human in multiple games. Showed there are limits to the weight even the best can carry.

  • Actually in regards to the joe thomas pick the other QB selected in the 2007 draft were

1 1 Oakland Raiders JaMarcus Russell QB LSU SEC

1 22 Cleveland Browns Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame Ind. (FBS) from Dallas[21]

2 36 Philadelphia Eagles Kevin Kolb QB Houston C-USA from Cleveland via Dallas[21][23]

2 40 Miami Dolphins John Beck QB BYU MWC

2 43 Detroit Lions Drew Stanton QB Michigan State Big Ten from Buffalo[26]

3 92 Buffalo Bills Trent Edwards QB Stanford Pac-10 from Baltimore[42]

4 103 Dallas Cowboys Isaiah Stanback QB Washington Pac-10 from Cleveland[31]

5 151 Cincinnati Bengals Jeff Rowe QB Nevada WAC

No real QB to be had in 2007. To be fair after taking JT we took the very next QB off the board in Brady Quinn.

Your love for this guy is approaching POG levels of infatuation.

It would be nice if he did, but to me he's in the company of group two right now. Can't be considered in the first group before you even play in the NFL.

Everyone will look human at points, sure. But this season isn't enough to call Aaron Rodgers not an elite QB, is it?

I think it was McAssMunch, but that works too.

He was mediocre in a Hue Jack offense throwing to A.J. Green so ... let's go grab him!

Surround Brady Quinn with enough talent and he'd be fine.

It's how he excelled at Notre Dame.

Hell, no... but Rogers clearly buckled under the load this season... to a lesser extent so did Brady.

Manning and Luck did as well, but they had injuries that added to their support-cast woes.

I won't continue to love him if he busts out, or doesn't become a Brown at least so it's a little different πŸ˜‰

  • Is anyone else not sold on a QB at 2? We have no idea what our roster will look like in 3 months.

We lose Mack, Thomas, Haden, etc... Is it really to take a QB that's anything less than Andrew Luck?

I hope people aren't expecting us to win a ton of games straight out of the gate if we lose Mack, Thomas, and Haden. Developing a kid at QB with McCown and building around them isn't a bad plan.

They are all pretty much 50/50.

Goff has his fifty, Brady produced a 0.

He was slow on his progressions, indecisive in the pocket and couldn't throw a deep ball to save his life, failed in five cities, but if the Bungles drafted him he would be Andy Fucking Dalton.

Maybe Goff will be an abject failure too, but you don't know until you try.

Bortles, Winston and Marriota drafted by bad teams, as bad as us, but they look like good QBs, the right side of the 50/50, they will build around them and be fine
