So you would trade, say, five years of top-level Left tackle for a second round draft pick? What's wrong with people?

"Let's get rid of the best left tackle in the league and then draft a rookie QB!"

    Zombo

And look at our history of 2nd round picks....Ha! Lets trade our proven player for a lottery ticket!

Eggsactly right!.....its like spending a million dollars on lottery tickets in an effort to win a million dollars......

  • lmao...

Just started tape of this draft's "top LT", Ole Miss's Tunsil...

He's good with some promise, but would be such a downgrade from Joe it's ridiculous.

EDIT: and tower of baberknacle isn't even talking about a replacement for Thomas... lol

caught that too.....cause we drafted Erving to play the one position he's never played.....😉

  • Just about to lose my mind. Up in here.. Up in Here!! Baabs you have lost your mind if you think anyone else but JT deserves to Win in Cleveland but JT!! Cam Erving is not ready to replace Mack nor JT. Mack maybe out but without A Schwartz signing this Joe must Go is Re dick U Lose. (ridiculous). JT not on market per JT. Deal with It, He's the best LT in the game still..

  • I don't know how you can set there and want the organization to act as previous staffs. Cut the cord get a first round pick if you can his trade stock will never be higher, time to move him and get some defense and some toys for McCown and you should not have loyalty to a player but to a team and if it makes to team better great and it my not work but doing nothing is worse

yeah he should try proofreading his posts before hitting that button, either that or go back to school.

  • You are absolutely clueless if you think as a team we our 1 JT 1st round pick away from making this team a playoff team. It will take several & we keep burning them like firewood. In Hue We Trust & For now that's the List. Good Day Now BlaberStein !! 🥷

Uh, I thought the previous staff did try to trade him. And they just got fired for making stupid personnel decisions. Its obvious you don't understand how important LT really is or why that position is always at the top of every draft board.

  • Only one line in the water and so many fish to fry tonight. Did the ice break or somethin'? 😛

  • Joe must stay. Build with what you have. This thread is ridiculous. More into the off season the more ridiculous you guys get

  • That's about the biggest troll I've ever seen.

    Bravo.

  • It's simple.

If you can get someone better that Joe Thomas get him. If you cant then keep him. Expecting a second round draft pick to arise out of the ashes is insane.

Joe Thomas will NOT ever be in the Hall Of Fame.

Has he produced a perennial 1,000 yard rusher?

Has he produced a perennial 3,000 yard passer?

Has he produced a team that gets less sacks than everyone else?

Can anyone name one measurable football statistic or parameter that shows when we acquired Joe Thomas, that statistic improved?

    One?

You can't. His team was 4 - 12 without him, and they are 4 -12 with him.

But WAIT....it gets worse for this guy. If Joe Thomas was never drafted, what would the Browns be suffering? NOTHING...............

Hickerson blocked for Jim Brown, and Browns swore by him. It took Hick forever to get in the HOF. Talk of putting Joe Thomas in the HOF is a sign of how fucking dumb, and how hard up Browns fans have become.

He has no market value. Nobody will trade anything more than a 3D round for him, and he is NOT, and NEVER HAS BEEN, great LT. Fast feet, but not particularly strong. He gets manhandled a lot.

You typed a lot. At least we can say that for you.

  • While l agree l think the OP is 10 years old, and you know, hats off to you for being invested and having an opinion and all that.

In a way l kinda agree with him though. Thomas was blowong smoke that he wanted out, and frankly, if he really does want out AND you can get some good value for him, l'd go for it.

I'm enthused about Hue, and maybe some of you are too, but Joe's seen this shit, er, stuff before.

Granted, if he wants to stick around, then hell to the yeah to that.

  • Baber...Actually, what you really mean is, the Browns should trade Joe Thomas,

and then not have a great left tackle anymore, so they can get their

#2 QB pick injured in the first or second game, and be the idiots/laughingstock of the NFL.

Then you can bitch that the Browns are stupid. For listening to you.

Yup. Goff is gonna need blindside protection, and Joe is the best in the biz at that.

The plan by drafting Erving was to move Thomas. And you don't get goff he's a bum you get bosa the best I've seen to a sure thing and with Thomas trade pick up zeke or another dt. And this is for sure if Gordon comes back the pressure on the line will be much less and the running game will be effective. Gordon will warrent a double team as always

Listen up goober- the plan in drafting Erving was to provide quality depth- in case one of the starters got hurt. Farmer stupidly used that as a "luxury" pick- when the team had far more pressing needs. When Bitonio was injured- Erving stepped right in- and blew dead worms- He got f**king abused. LT is far more physically demanding than LG.The Jury is out, but Erving has to get far stronger- or he's going to be yet another Ray the Farmer bust.

Trading Joe will not make the team better. So I suppose we should trade Joe Haden while we're at it? Defense? Since you want Bosa, the Texans have JJ Watt, and Javedon Clowney- they're watching the Championship games on the tube- just like the Browns. Unless you can build a defense the order of the '86 Bears, or the '01 Ravens- it's not going to be good enough to win it all with a near geriatric fragile qb in McCown. In today's NFL- unless you have a great, or at the very least, a real good quarterback, you're up shit creek.

Has he produced a perennial 1,000 yard rusher? Oh gee- now it's perennial? So sorry we didn't draft Ladanian Tomlinson or Adrian Peterson. FYI, the Browns have had 2 in Joe's tenure- Jamal Lewis (twice) and Peyton Hillis.

Has he produced a perennial 3,000 yard passer? So sorry we didn't draft Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers. We wound up with Derek Anderson 3,700 yards.

Has he produced a team that gets less sacks than everyone else? Joe can't help it if 3\5 o line suck.

Can anyone name one measurable football statistic or parameter that shows when we acquired Joe Thomas, that statistic improved?

Thomas has tremendous market value. Again, FYI he's made first team All-Pro at least two years running (I'm not going to go back any farther) which means he's the best in the NFL at what he does, and has been doing it ever since he came into the league. He's a damn lock to make the HOF, and don't give me any trolling BS about it Tom- you're dead wrong.

So why have the Browns sucked in Joe's tenure? Bad owner- Randy Lehrner. Bad coaches- Krispy Kreme Crenell,Shur-loss, Pettine. Bad GMs Savage (didn't you call him Sewage?) Farmer. Bad defenses- the Browns were worst or near worst in almost every category Last year. It's a team game buckko- Joe doesn't play defense.

And the BIG reason? Look below. I'm tired of morons saying build the defense first- we haven't had a franchise quarterback since Bernie, and before that Graham.

  • Goff will be the last one on that list for a long time.

    If we draft him...

  • Thanks Hoorta, off to mix another Rum & Coke after spill damage on Erving & Blew dead Worms 😁.. LMFOL!! Got to go stronger..
