Kicks off at 8pm tonight (eastern time)

I think Cruz will be stumped in the only state he had a chance of winning.

Bernie and Hillary could be interesting though, latest polls have them neck and neck. Bernie has basically only invested in Iowa and New Hampshire so I think he may be doomed if he doesn't win both.

Trump/Hillary is what I'm predicting. I'd like to see Sanders bern Hillary though.

I'm going with Cruz. I saw a poll that could spell some trouble for Trump that as the republican field dwindles those supporters of those candidates are not inclined to vote for Trump.

On the democrat side Clinton has such little competition even as bad of a candidate she is she still beats out the socialist Sanders to win the democratic nomination. Sanders will win New Hampshire and might win Iowa but I don't look for a competitive race after Iowa and New Hampshire.

Trump will win big. Sanders will defeat the bitch from hell.

Gonna be a good one, entrance polling says Trump and Clinton win but it's very close. Probably won't know for a few hours

Iowa is about to embarrass itself again if they go for Cruz.

Cruz wins, Retarded Iowans want to see the world burn. I remember Huckabee and Santorum though.

If Trump loses Iowa I believe it will be his decision to skip the last debate. Just like in football where a team tries to sit on a lead and go into prevent defense only to end up losing the game Trump tried to play it safe missing the last debate.

I think Trump's early large appeal has worn thin with lacking details, and

childish lashing at at any and evey direction that doesn't suit him.

Way too arrogant, took it way too far.

Not sure if you guys have seen the results, but Cruz (28%) seems to have won, with trump (24%) and Rubik (23%) not far behind.

On the left, Hillary and Sanders basically tied, 50/50 after 99% of votes counted.

That's what I saw on the am news, Chris.

                      Biggest surprise was Rubio.

Biggest surprise was Rubio for sure. Considering his main shouting point has been anti-establishment, people not showing up to vote etc and he doesn't do it himself, wasn't him expecting to get anything. Expected a bit more for Jeb - establishment voters etc.

Rubio is basically Bush but hes definitely the biggest threat.

Cruz probably won't win anymore. They said Trump won over lots of moderate Republicans so I'm assuming some split from Trump to Rubio.

Huckabee and Santorum have won Iowa before. I don't put much thought into how Iowa Republicans feel.

That said, Hillary can't be happy about basically tying with Sanders. I could see a situation where the youth vote buries her.

Sanders did very well but not well enough. It's hard to get people who vote primarily on the basis of more free shit to actually get off the couch and go vote.

Trump did get a significant boost later on.

I wasn't really surprised by Ted Cruz but he is still just too goofy in my opinion to get very far. Looks like Rubio has got a good chance to sneak in and win it.

I agree with whoever said Rubio is Bush, but Rubio is younger and fresher without the bush baggage or the phenobarbital personality.

One thing that keeps me from being more of a trump supporter is his lack of substance. Frankly I don't think any presidential candidate knows enough to formulate a policy but he should have enough advisors to give him some talking points.

Considering hillary had basically a hundred point lead a year ago (no serious opposition) anything other than a crushing victory feels like a defeat for her. She may well go on to win the nomination, but it won't be with the overwhelming backing of the party as she'd hoped.

Alternatively, those people saying 'bernie can't win' might see that actually, he can definitely win, at least the nomination, and come out to vote for him, and Hillary is prevented once again from her 'divine right' presidency.

I think the Democrats are secretly hoping for Joe Biden but the only way that happens is if Hillary gets indited which the Obama Justice Department will never allow.

Basically, it's a shit show all round, with the most informed, principled of either side likely not ending up with the nomination and the substandard shit rising to the top.

Caucuses are not winner take all AFAIK.

Cruz got like 1 more delegate than Trump and Rubio if I'm not mistaken.

Bernie may have gotten the same or more as Clinton.

Delegates is really all that matters, but it's more interesting to see Rubio/Trump split the self identifying moderate vote. I think it's going to be a two man race after new Hampshire.

Trump will go on to win the nomination. Iowa is meaningless. Sanders will upset Hitlery. Trump will crush Sanders. Bank it.

The latest bunch of emails Clinton was found to have on her own personal unsecured server was the most confidential there is and lives were put at risk by her negligence. If the FBI refers Clinton to the DOJ for prosecution and the Obama Justice Dept doesn't act on it there will be a huge uproar that cannot be ignored and the atty general will be subpoenaed before congress to answer why.
