    FLASH!!!!! Saviour of the Johnny-verse!

    Maybe Josh Gordon can help?

  • Gentlemen:

Here is the situation associated with the Police Report that was made. And remember I come at this as both someone who has defended the accused on these in the past (not so much any more), someone who has represented victims....and as a magistrate who has heard these cases.

Bottom line, the reason that both the Dallas and Ft. Worth police have dropped this investigation: They do NOT believe a word of what this girl says. She can file a report and give a statement and say anything she wants in there, but clearly the police who did this investigation.....after interviewing her and judging her credibility, after interviewing Johnny and judging his credibility, after interviewing other witnesses and judging their credibility (and from what I have heard there were other witnesses) they do not believe her story. I believe it goes much further than just a he said/she said situation. I think they don't believe what she says and probably have other evidence....statements, witnesses that support their decision.

Let me also say this about police these days: if they believe a man has committed multiple assaults/kidnapping etc., they are NOT just going to let this go because she doesn't want to press charges. They CAN bring charges on their own without her cooperation if things look bad enough for the accused.

So, bottom line: they don't believe a word she says.

I am not trying to defend JFF....I am just giving the straight dope on this.

The girl seems to be just as screwed up as he is, so I can see that. The 911 caller was a neighbor, but not sure what she witnessed outside of screaming.

Well, I am hoping there are no criminal charges.

Either way, something bad happened, and the kid is succumbing to his demons.

Your agent and your Dad don't just say shit like that for the hell of it.

He needs long term help. Give up football for a couple seasons.

Maybe the Browns can get a medical exemption for him if he goes into long-term rehab.

Totally agree Z. He is in serious trouble and his poor parents are at wits end trying to save him from himself. They are totally helpless at this point after twice checking him into places and twice they find no reason they can keep him against his will. We all know he can talk a good ballgame so without the magical "kill myself or others" they can't do anything but release him. This is a tragedy right now and no longer just a Johnny being Johnny story.

  • Fuck Michael Irving

That's why I posted the Ryan Leaf interview. Seems like he would be a good person for Johnny to spend some time with.

  • Also of note, the Browns probably knew about details between him and girlfriend, parents, etc.

Seemed like they were quick to make a statement that basically said "he's gone" so they could get in front of all of the news before it came out.

  • I agree with Z & Ag. Also, as a parent of an adult Son who HAS made great strides in changing his life for the better, My Prayers go out to his Family that he does get the help he needs.

    Mike

  • WhIle we are at it try and stay focused on the crazy girlfriend aspect. She drove from Fort Worth to Dallas just to go bar hopping with her friends where Johnny's apartment just happens to be. And she just happens to wind up there even though there's another girl in it? Please.

I've driven from Fort Worth to Dallas, it takes almost an hour. Like driving from Cleveland to Akron which is suspicious in the first place. And this is the second time she is claimed he beat her up and both times the cops didn't buy it. Seems like if a raging professional athlete actually did beat up a 110 pound bitch there'd be evidence? And I can't imagine if it were legitimate that Texas or Cleveland cops would just let it slide. The Gipper hit it right on the head and his legal opinion.

Of course that only helps us understand to incidence, but I think it's pretty clear what went on in those two.

It is entirely possible that she is a bigger drama queen than he is. Again, three different police departments were sic'ed on him by her....and none of them did anything. They obviously have their squabbles, but that does not mean that JFF committed actionable domestive violence.

But, I am sure that the drama associated with this was just another brick in the wall to seal Johnny's fate.

I think he is an alcoholic.

    He is certainly a fuckup.

    He is immature.

He is disrespectful.....of his teammates, coaches, owners, etc.

He is apparently lazy. He wants the glory but not to do the work it requires

He also seems addicted to the limelight, to the attention. (HE sought out TMZ, no?)

    He feels he is entitled.

He is all of this shit.....but he is probably not a serious abuser of women.....at least not yet. It seems this chick got jealous because the gold digger is losing her gold, so she went telling tales. It happens.

  • Gipper I agree with most of your points except the lazy part because last year he did commit himself to rehab and even according to the coaches worked extremely hard and made great strides. I think his immaturity and personality flaw allowed him to become angry when he felt all that was ignored.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with bipolar syndrome? We know people who will spend days or weeks or months frenetically working and then revert to another amount of time with no motivation whatsoever.

I know everyone would say "no big deal", but I find it kinda funny he went out in the public spotlight to a Mavs game right after all the shit seemed to hit the fan (at least in terms of his career and image)

And he hasn't talked to the Browns or any of their new stuff, he has declined comment to local and national media about anything. The first time he does say something to the media - he chooses TMZ. Seems bizarre to me.

    ---

And I think "lazy" is accurate considering you see a guy who has several on-the-field flaws, yet he spends his off season and off time doing nothing but boozing. Even last year he gets a day off training camp and goes to Texas to a pool party.

  • all setup by jerrah!! Browns are gonnna cut him, we'll get nothing....Dallas will pick him and retain their 6th. They'll have their Romo backup for nothing.

Well, I get the "lazy" part from the fact that from what I hear, at least early on, he didn't bother to learn the playbook and was totally unprepared....and he preferred to spend his time partying.

Perhaps that improved over this past season. I just know that a lot of commentators, locally and nationally kind of think he is or at least was Lazy.

Bipolar? Wouldn't at all be surprised.

Been there since I had an inkling about a growing suicide potential. The whole "winning" post was out of the sadness of that potential parallel. There was zero "humor" intended.

I know its semantics....but Id lean more toward words like unmotivated, overly confident, entitled and directionless over lazy....

He probably thought he could just show up, be given the job and do what he did in college....he wouldnt be the first....

That's true, probably, but then it seems like he busted his ass to prepare himself. So it comes and goes like bipolar.

I've spent a lot of time in Texas pal.

I also drive 45 minutes or an hour to go to restaurants or bars. But if I'm drunk and going bar hopping and my ex girlfriend just happens to be an hour away with some other guy and that's where I wind up I don't think it's just a coincidence.
