yep. Socialists always desperately demand more money, and any excuse too

reap funds, the major reason for the mmgw nonsense in the first place..

is a good excuse to those who want free stuff. But guess who pays the

    higher energy prices ?

Of course, anybody with any money. I just have to figure out how to invent

    a wood-burning air conditioner.

Not having much luck, but I'm not going to give up....

I'll pay 22 cents more a gallon if it drives changes toward renewable energy

No one bitched too much when the price increases were just from people blaming whatever they want on keeping gas near $4 a gallon.

Now that we might have a modest increase to fix roads and bridges, lets throw a fit.

Fuck that. I'm not willing to pay a cent more than the market price.

I can live with a short-term increase. If the money was going to something worthwhile and if they are assumed that tax oil prices skyrocket again.

How much do you want to bet that when that time comes they want?

The consumer had no choice, you had to pay the price at the pump when gas prices were sky high (or get a bicycle). We had to grin and bear it. Now that gas prices have come down (temporarily) the politicians fixate right away on placing a tax. Can't let the American consumer who for years was paying exorbitant gas prices now catch a break with cheaper gas.

What I don't understand either is how gas stations coordinate together when they raise gas prices. Speedway seems to be the quickest on the draw to raise or sometimes lower gas prices and within the hour about every other gas station in town has done the same. It always seemed to me that gas stations had already paid a set price for the gas they have in their ground tanks so it seems logical the next increase would be when they paid for the next shipment of gas?

Our infrastructure is falling apart in this country. The roads, bridges, building, etc. We have to do something. Our highways are an embarrassment.

I don't disagree Diehard but it bothers me the waste that goes on with government. It would have been nice if Obama would have used that trillion dollar stimulus pork bill solely on infrastructure instead of throwing most of it away on every pet pork project the democrats could think of.

For real. $1.5 trillion could probably have cured Alzheimer's and fixed several roads and bridges.

I say Alzheimer's because apparently we're fairly close to a cure - we know the cure "in theory" just need the money to develop it.

If the price of fossil fuels don't up soon they are going to drive the nuclear industry out of my area, one plant already phasing out.

My objection is, regardless of the need for funds to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure is:

Spending won't be cut anywhere else, except for the military,

                              per the liberal leftist "dems".

When gas prices bounce back up to nearly 4 bucks and higher,

that 22 cents will be very bad. Many companies have big

energy bills. They will have to raise their prices, like trucking companies, etc.

Then you have the impetus for inflation surge.

and temporary taxes usually become permanent, because of more and more and more spending.

It must stop. We are going to be at least very, very close to 22 TRILLION dollars in our national debt.

Big, serious, looming trouble closer and closer all the time.

no, with liberals, it's ALWAYS law enforcement or the military.

Because they are ingrained with a free stuff for voters and political power pandering.

There is a lot of waste in gov, that's a great place to start.

But libs won't talk about the fed EPA, the fed NEA,,, etc etc, orgs that should just

                                  remain at the state level.

But libs won't talk about the fed EPA, the fed NEA,,, etc etc, orgs that should just

                                    remain at the state level.

Yeah one division for the environment, education, state affairs, energy, etc.

                                    Two for the fear mongers.

And trust me I'm all for a curb on entitlements, unfortunately our economy is going to need more than the trickle down of wealth from the benevolence of the aristocracy

Because they are ingrained with a free stuff for voters and political power pandering.

There is a lot of waste in gov, that's a great place to start.

I have no doubt that more redistribution will make everyone smarter, better looking, happier and more productive.

                                          "sigh"

                                          referring to my earlier comments:

"There is a lot of waste in gov, that's a great place to start.

But libs won't talk about the fed EPA, the fed NEA,,, etc etc, orgs that should just

                                          remain at the state level."

                                          correction:

                                          "ONLY military spending"

I was IN THE MILITARY, woody. Of course there's waste in the military.

And most other parts of our gov.

But repetitive, overlapping gov depts is very costly, and usurps the power

of the states over state concerns.. Fed control over ponds, mud puddles and ditches

is stupid. States like Arizona, etc, surely WISH they had ponds, and mud puddles..
