Which means we get to add that "other" Aggie next year. The one who is the best defender since Von Miller and far more dedicated player than the 2014 overall #1.

    The one that's not a 3-4 guy.

Doesn't matter. Easily converts. Sometimes played out of the tackle spot to confuse the blockers. Has the speed to convert to OLB if needed. If the Browns are in position to take him next year they would be fools indeed to pass him up.

Eh. He's an enormous talent, to be sure. But last season was a disappointment. We'll see if he earns his money in this, his contract year. There's also a lot more than speed to playing OLB. Not a lot of 6'5" skinny dudes playing OLB (or 3-4 DE, for that matter). It's just not a fit and you should give up on this now, honestly.

    This is the moneyball stuff.

Bingo... and so is Dansby's release...

    I'll assume that's a good thing 😉

I agree, a bunch of 'scrappy' hard working solid football players, sprinkled with some stardust in the form of Haden, Shelton and maybe someone like Bosa or Buckner, could make us a very competitive team.

No... It won't. Just stop it.... We will not be competitive in 2016... not by design... not even by accident.

This is a complete tear down. No more straddling the fence with one foot on the rebuild side and one on the salvage some competitiveness side. All that has done is bruised our balls repeatedly...

This is a tear-it-down, take all the pressure off of the staff because we understand they cannot win, year...

And the tear down is not yet complete...

Yeah, not expecting that competitiveness to manifest this year. Expecting another double-digit loss season, with some glimmer of hope from some good young players that need to grow in to the game together. Adding 3-4 solid contibutors/starters from the draft would be a good start. Then doing it again the next year...

I think we shouldn't be surprised if the Browns actually win at least one more game than

    last year. Who's with me ? 😎

Think I will wait to see what the final roster looks like. We ain't done cookin' the books yet.

  • Not sure why they sat him....but if they did, he was still the Jets #2 tackler....on a team FULL of great defensive players.....and if he did that playing part time, then Im down....

Dont expect to be spectacular. Just, hopefully, an upgrade over Robinson and an improvement to our run D.....

You pretty much nailed it. I really think his playing style is what we need. Our coaches need to get the most out of our players, and Craig's skillset wasn't exactly a perfect match for what we needed. I don't know why they sat him either, as the coach stated he didn't have an issue with his play. I like the fact that he's in his prime age too. Here's hoping for the best.

Right now? Sorry Cal. To just break even we need to replace 5 starters in the upcoming draft with players that are at least as good, if not better to show any improvement. Lotsa luck there, unless you're hoping for the miracle the Steelers pulled off drafting 4 HOFers in one year. (Usually one draft class in total doesn't produce that many)

You mean dumping old overpriced players? Adios Whitner, come on down Ifo.

What the move away from Dansby and Robertson to Davis has done on paper is improve our run stopping.

It is normal for paired ILBs to have different skill sets. One is often stronger vs run while the other is the better coverage guy.

What we had were 3 ILBs, all of whom were to varying degrees better coverage LBs.

    Now we don't...

To me "around the team" means the people that are inside the organization. Players/coaches/FO types. etc. Writers and media pundits are still outsiders.

I mean, the garbage collectors in Berea are "around the team". That doesn't give them any cred for what happens inside the team's walls.

And I am the fucking grammar police? lol...

Well, you have to consider that the Browns will probably pick up a few more players

    in fa yet.

And the draft, you draft like I would:

    1. Wentz

    2. Cody Whitehair, OG/T Kansas State

Tremendous upside, could even play center...possibly

    3. Kamalei Correa, Boise State lb (might have to trade up about 4 slots)

I like this kid a lot, draws Clay Mathews comparisons. Could be long gone before the third, though.

    4. Tajae Sharpe, Umas WR. This kid is a player,

Who knows. I just think that with this excellent HC, the Browns will win at least 4 games.

There. Fact is stranger than fiction.
