    No doubt.

I thought it was strange Obama was just complaining the other day about Trump getting a microphone and saying whatever he wants without being challenged by the media and then Matthews comes after Trump full force. Matthews probably getting some high fives with his liberal pals at MSNBC and maybe a call from the WH.

US election: Obama blames media for Trump's success

US President Barack Obama has said the media is partly to blame for the rise of Republican Donald Trump as a political force.

Speaking at an event for political reporters, Mr Obama said it was not enough to give "someone a microphone".

In a reference to Mr Trump's domination of the news cycle, the president said the job of a political reporter was "more than just handing someone a microphone".

Billions of dollars in free media should come with serious accountability, especially when politicians issue unworkable plans or make promises they cannot keep, he said.

  • Obama was complaining about that? 99% of the things they say on every network is anti Trump.

  • Not only that Steve look at how the liberal media has always fawned all over Obama and given him favorable coverage but Obama doesn't think they are being tough enough on Trump. Give me a break.

Which is another way of saying 99% of the things they say on every network is trump-related.

It is, but if anybody else got the same amount of negative and misleading publicity as Trump did I don't think they'd survive like he has - it's pretty impressive he managed to win the nomination considering they pushed the narrative that he's racist, sexist, his supporters are violent, he's hitler, etc, etc.

    Yes indeed.

Is that good or bad? Publicity is great but I hear so many people repeating bullshit because the news media doesn't feel the need to use a truth filter when it comes to Trump.

  • He was more or less saying countries like Japan and South Korea need to be more independent and able to defend themselves. And said it's not as bad if those countries have nukes compared to places like pakistan and north korea.

Likewise he said he "wouldn't rule out" using nukes which freaked everybody out - but what else is he supposed to say. If we'd rule out using nukes might as well destroy our arsenal.

Trump's foreign policy ideas are more isolationist - the rest of the world doesn't like that because it means America comes first.

Japan and South Korea are capable of defending themselves. We have troops in Japan and South Korea for our benefit as well as theirs.

One amazing thing about Trump, though...

he's making Cruz look better all the time, and Cruz

is leading polls dramatically in Wisconsin.

This is exactly why I wanted Trump to win Ohio. Now I've got to entertain the idea that the only thing between a religious zealot and the Oval Office might be Hillary Clinton.

If it comes down to cruz vs clinton I'm voting clinton

Sen. John Thune should be running.

John Thune is already running. There is no difference between his political ideology and Cruz's; they're almost completely identical. No thank you. We're already one theocratic, Tea Party whackjob - candidate too many in this election.

That's the type of candidate Cal likes - he just doesn't like Cruz's dirty campaign

Just giving you a hard time. Here is the deal. Trump has never held public office and has made some rookie mistakes. As a conservative I don't think Trump is a conservative at all like you are not a conservative (in your post you stated about Sessions, ("you conservatives worship him"). Trump used the exact language with Matthews when he fumbled the abortion question and said, "the conservatives believe the woman should be punished". There you go he is a liberal acting like a conservative and if he had a clue what conservatives really thought on the abortion issue he would know we have never taken that position. That is a stereotype of what liberals think about us.

I'm going to have to throw away my vote this year and do a write in candidate. Trump v Clinton is not much of a choice for me. Trump is a liberal trying to pass himself off as a conservative and he knows very little about policy issues. He scares me having access to the nuclear codes as he has shown himself to be a petulant juvenile with an impulsive temper.

BTW - Matthews is a democratic hack acting like a journalist. In quick order he destroyed Trump and did exactly what I said would happen to Trump if he didn't get himself up to speed and knowledgeable about the issues. For all your hatred about Cruz at least Cruz can go hours with a hack like Matthews in an interview and not get caught with a deer in the headlights look of Trump because he does not know enough about the issues. This might/should be a wake up call for Trump.

You could vote libertarian. They just have to get 15% and we start having a viable third party. it would open the door for more parties being an option and the Dem/Rep monopoly would be broken.

I don't think he's liberal either - he's a populist nationalist. He has ideas that are left and ideas that are far right - he isn't cursed by one political ideology
