BrownsBoard predicts...Republican Nominee

They all use prepared speeches 100% of the time - and none of them really have any substance on anything.
He has smart people working with him and advising him, he just speaks off the cuff because it's what makes him popular. People don't want to hear the same stump speech every day, etc. Though in general election mode I think giving a series of policy speeches on script will help him a lot - especially against Hillary who is more experienced and knowledgeable than everybody else in regards to foreign policy.
We need to dispel with this fiction because she is extremely knowledgeable and knows exactly what she's doing.
Politicians can take positions on issues and summarize them in 30-60 second sound bites. That doesn't take away that they know the issues, maybe have legislated the issues and can do a quick summary for a speech. The appeal of Trump is speaking off the cuff but he needs to learn the issues and then speak off the cuff. Trump may say he is not a politician but he is a politician now he is running for president.
I agree Trump is a smart (enough) guy and like Newt Gingrich says is making rookie mistakes but he has to clean them up. Newt has been giving Trump some good advice but Trump is apparently not listening. After getting beat in Wisconsin Trump should have given a gracious speech and congratulated Cruz on the win and say he was looking forward to the race in New York. That is called acting presidential. Does Trump do it? No. He makes wild unsubstantiated claims that Cruz is breaking the law by working with super pacs and goes back to the name calling. He comes off as being an immature sore loser. Does Trump even want to win in November?
I am not part of the never Trump movement (except in the primary but not in the general election), I don't understand why any conservative would prefer Clinton or Sanders over Trump and I intend to vote for Trump in November if he is the nominee.

Cruz does the same thing, it's not like he's saying anything flattering about Trump. He was expected to lose WI though, they did elect Scott Walker after all - the worst governor in the country.
Regardless of how much substance people think Trump lacks (he has some detailed policies on his website) - he is on the right side of most issues which is the most important thing.
Obama throws a tariff on Chinese steel imports (as did the UK), China throws a tariff on Australian steel imports - nobody bats an eye. Trump talks about imposing tariffs to push back on countries ripping us off and everybody loses their minds.
He's been talking about the US getting bent over by Japan, China, (Mexico is a more recent development), etc since the 80s - back then he said "if it got so bad" he would run. He's on the right side of most issues, which is why all the corrupt powers want to take him down.

I might be against Trump in the primary but in the general election if it is Hillary Clinton versus Trump that is an easy choice for me with Trump.
Mark Levin to #NeverTrumpers: The “Stop Trump” effort must not extend to the general election
Via Breitbart and the Right Scoop, you can grumble about this if you’re #NeverTrump but we all understand, I think, that the vast, vast majority of the party will come around to his position by November, right? Don’t get me wrong, stalwart anti-Trumpers may have the numbers to fatally damage Trump’s chances even if they’re just five percent of the electorate. But that’s probably what they’ll be — five percent, not a third of the party despite how much fun it is to ooh and ahh over numbers like that. Never underestimate the power of partisanship, especially when you’ve got a Democrat as unlikable as Hillary topping the other ticket.
And even if five percent of Republicans do end up as #NeverTrumpers, that’s not necessarily a death sentence for Trump’s campaign. Why? Because some segment of Bernie fans claim that they’re #NeverHillary:

After the gun and bible toting thugs from fox led by Karl Rove get done picking over the bones in their cannibalistick frenzy, it'll end up being Ryan

Trump has stepped in too often as time has gone on. He is now somewhere around
60-70 percent DISapproval rating per the last AP poll I saw, and that isn't just
women voting. Otherwise, I think it would be higher.....
Just an indication that Trump may very well not get the required delegates, and may
very well lose the nomination....
because he got carried away with his big mouth. We'll see how it goes.
-
Trump is taking time off campaigning saying he is trying to run a business and run a campaign at the same time. While he is taking time off to run his business Cruz is out in Colorado sweeping 21 delegates and the only republican candidate going to a meeting of republican Jewish leaders among other things. If Cruz pulls this out it will be because he worked harder and smarter and went out and did the hard work with a ground game and beat Trump. Trump seems to think all he has to do is have big rallies.
-
All I can say is there's a zero percent chance I will vote for ted cruz. If the republican establishment nominates cruz the election will effectively be over at the convention.
-
And the republicans are in a bad spot because there are more who say they will not vote for Trump under any circumstances. Even worse for republicans are polling that show the republicans losing the senate and house seats with Trump at the top of the ticket. The only candidate who beats Clinton and Sanders is Kasich but if he would get the nomination you would have both the Cruz and Trump camps likely sitting out the election. Pick your poison.

OBF lay off the pipe fam, Cruz is done. Trump is going to sweep the Northeast.
Just give up and concede to Trump

Trump will sweep the Northeast but then the map starts favoring Cruz again and it will go back and forth until California. Even with Trump sweeping the Northeast he would have swept it even more but Kasich will take more votes away from Trump than Cruz and every delegate Kasich gets is one less for Trump.
I don't know what game Kasich is playing. It seems like he is either in to try and keep Trump from getting the 1237 delegates or he is wanting a vice president spot? I don't think anyone knows what his goal is here. Right now unless the rules are changed he won't even be eligible to get the nomination because the rules as they stand now state a candidate has to win 8 states. Those rules can be changed but the delegates who would change them are mostly for Trump and Cruz so why would they?
If we have a contested convention and Trump does not win on the first ballot the delegates are not bound to their candidate after that point and who has done the best ground game? Cruz who has been working the delegates from the beginning while Trump just seemed to have learned the rules. If there is a contested convention I would put the odds in Cruz's favor. Trump has to get it on the first ballot is how I see it.

Cruz will be mathematically eliminated by time the NE is done, then he'll be playing Kasich.
Trump is going to get it, his campaign is involved in picking delegates too

They all will be mathematically eliminated at some point including Trump. Kasich is there now and Cruz will be next but after California Trump will be mathematically eliminated as well.

Don't see California going for Cruz.
That said Kasich is eliminated from even a contested convention.
That means even if Trump is shy of like 100 delegates (I don't see it happening) would they really go for Cruz who has been obliterated in every blue or purple state. Wisconsin doesn't count, they elected Walker

I don't think Cruz even has to win California he just has to keep Trump from getting enough delegates to go over 1237.
About all agree if they have multiple ballots at the convention it does not favor Trump. Trump has the highest negatives by far of anyone in the race so that is not a big plus in a purple, red or blue state either.
BTW - what was the logic for Trump attacking a popular governor like Walker in Wisconsin? Trump wasn't running against Walker he was running against Cruz. Trump in his juvenile way attacked Walker because Walker endorsed Cruz so Trump then shoots himself in the foot by attacking a popular governor.
-
Plus Wisconsin would never vote Cruz in the GE.
Here's the thing Ted Cruz will be lucky to have all of the religious right, or most, voting for him.
There is a chance that Trump will bring in Independence who wouldn't vote otherwise.
There isn't a beloved candidate except for possibly Bernie Sanders. And his voters are kids who probably won't turn out anyway.

California is WTA and a ton of delegates.
After sweeping the Northeast and winning PA, it's likely California would put him to 1237

*This is a big one (for me). Just recently Levin was saying we should support the nominee whomever it is.
Levin: ‘I Am Not Voting for Donald Trump,’ ‘Count Me As Never Trump
Radio show host Mark Levin stated friday“I am not voting for Donald Trump. Period” and “count me as never Trump” on Friday.
Levin said that a couple of years ago, the Senate Conservatives Fund contacted his publisher to buy old copies of his book, “Liberty & Tyranny” to promote membership, something he wasn’t involved in. Levin defended this as “perfectly legitimate,” and done by many groups and authors, and as far as he knew, wasn’t bulk buying, and didn’t impact any lists. He further stated that whatever money he got from this sale was donated to charity.
Levin then stated, “Roger Stone is a thug. He’s a sleazeball. … And he’s a hatchet man for Donald Trump. So he puts out this obscure article from this obscure website, that used that to claim that I’m bought and paid for by the establishment. … And in the article, they trash other people too, Beck, Erickson, I think there’s another fellow in there trashed, with these nutjob conspiracy theories, and just flat-out lies.”
Levin continued, “Now, there are sleazeballs, like him, sleazeballs like Coulter, and sleazeballs like some talk show hosts, and I’m biting my tongue, who are so contemptible and pathetic, they want to use the most outrageous attacks on one of their colleagues to try and promote themselves. It’s truly pathetic.”
He then added, “Now, I’ve backed Cruz, and I’m going to continue to back Cruz, but here’s what I’m going to do. As a result of what the Trump supporters have attempted here, particularly Roger Stone, I am not voting for Donald Trump. Period. … And if anybody has a problem with that, Donald Trump, you can talk to Roger Stone. These bully, dirty tricks, Nixonian tactics, they’re only going to backfire. They’re only going to backfire. So, count me as never Trump. There’s been too much of this folks, way too much of this. The crap in the National Enquirer against Ted Cruz, the attacks on Michelle Fields, I mean, I can go right through the list, too much, too much, too much. At some point, you’ve got to stand up to it.”
Levin concluded, “And if they piss me off one more time, I’m going to urge millions and millions of you, should he get the nomination, not to vote for him either.” And “‘Ooh, Roger Stone has nothing to do with the campaign.’ Oh yes he does.”
