It would be stupid to take a QB
-
I rarely post on the forum, but after reading a lot, why do you guys think we have to have a QB this year? Without enough talent around him, we won't be good for years to come, and by then the fans will have declared him another bust. Wentz, Goff, and Lynch are all huge what ifs, we need to take the BPA that fits a need for us, COUGH RAMSEY COUGH.
But seriously, if we are going to the a qb I the top 5 of a draft, I want him to have the kind of confirmed talent that someone like Luck did. Its not like this is the last high pick we will have to take a quarterback
Unless we are convinced this is the guy,we shouldn't take him, and I certainly don't feel that way with any of the top 3.
-
I disagree that it would be stupid
I agree that we should take the BPA, preferably Ramsey
-
And some of us think Ramsey is overrated and not have the impact of a Myles Jack in the run game D which is our Achilles Heel.
-
DeShawn Watson is playing his Junior year in 16. Chad Kelly just missed spring game due to Sports Hernia surgery.(McNabb anyone). Building threw draft includes looking ahead & seeing this draft is 5 rounds deep of Hue getting someone beyond a AJ McCarron Status. "Future" has no meaning in Cleveland. It's Win now for Jackson.

I'm fine with Jack if he's healthy

Sounds smart. After all, we haven't had a real qb in about 30 friggin years. Why start now? Sorry,.....no pink in my phone
-
We don't take a QB we are fools.
-
Idk about Ramsey. But I agree with you about BPA. Honestly with a qb with past injuries we should probably pick up Tunsil. Our line is depleted. But so is our defense. It's tough.

Here is the fact gentlemen: Mr. Hue Jackson and this FO may in fact believe that they have their #2 overall franchise QB.....in one Robert Griffin III. I think it is highly possible that Jackson likes him...and wants him to be this teams future QB. He is only 26. Just entering what would be the prime of his career. He has shown that he can play very well in the right situation....and IF he can stay healthy.
RG III right here right now in the minds of our Browns FO may be a better prospect to be a franchise QB for this team than any of the higher rated QBs coming out of this draft. So, do NOT be surprised if any of the following occur:
1. The Browns do NOT take a QB at #2.....but take another position player.
2. The Browns trade down....and bypass the QBs altogether and pick someone else with their trade down.
3. That the Browns do work some kind of deal....either trade down or trade up, to take a QB in the mid to late 1st round, like a Lynch.
4. That the Brown feel that they can get just as good a QB in the second round at #32. Can you say Derek Carr, Teddy Twatwater, Andy Dalton. Or in this case: Connor Cook, possibly Hackenberg, Prescott.
5. That the Browns skip that even and continue with RG and even McCown/Shaw/Davis, plus take a mid to late round QB. Cardale, Brisset.
Bottom line....these guys may think they HAVE their QB. And whatever you and I think about it is meaningless.

If Goff is available he will be the BPA

Thanks PoG 2.0. We don't know that. More importantly.....do you think that Sashi and Hue and Depo and Berry agree with you...or not?
I think they agree with me that he's the #1 QB, but I have no idea who they think is BPA overall.
If the rams take Goff I'm in camp trade down myself, I wanted Jack but it just seems too big of a risk to take him that high given the knee. Ramsey/Bosa/Buckner whoever they think is best is fine by me at that point.

Hoping you two are both correct.

If they think RG3 is the guy and trusting that, they are utterly incompetent. While its possible he could be the guy, I am putting no faith in it based on recent performance. It would make zero since to me to pass on a QB at #2, increase my changes that either one of them hits. This theory of building the team first and then getting the QB is flawed to me. I think if the Browns pass on Wentz or Goff at #2 they are going to rue the day. But then again I could be wrong, but I would rather take a chance on find a QB then worrying about finding the right LB at this point, priorities are messed up.

There are only two scenarios for the Browns:
1. If the front office and coaching staff like whichever QB is available at 2, run up to the podium and draft him.
2. If the front office and coaching staff do NOT like whichever QB is available at 2, trade the pick to a QB-hungry team and rape them.

You're out of you fucking mind. No one who knows football would think RGIII is our future QB.

Hopefully if it's number 2, they're putting a vibe out that they are considering taking the QB to get a better offer from someone who's desperate. .
