He sat behind Brady, he can sit behind RG III. Nah- we're not bringing him back- he sailed his ship to Houston, he's not in our rebuilding future plans.

In all seriousness, he's just another example of the realization that we just as an organization have had shitty QB's. It wasn't because they didn't have a good line, great weapons or a dominant defense blah blah blah. These guys just sucked, went to objectively better teams and still sucked. You can go down the list and realize it's not just a trend.

  • Hoyer is basically a top tier backup in this league. Which means he'll keep getting tried out as a starter when he's on teams that have no starter.

Not bad work for an udfa ... good for him.

    So, he's Josh McCown?

Yep. Younger, less hair, less arm.

  • Yesterday I heard reasonable speculation he'll end up in Denver who only needs a game manager. And in 2015 BH completed 60% of his passes and had a 19/7 TD/INT ratio...

    Not bad...

Did gag his first career playoff game badly, but it was his first career playoff game. Better QBs than he have shit down their leg their first time out in the playoffs.

Carson Palmer comes to mind. Andy Dalton, too.

I agree whole heartedly. Since Tim Couch I think that Hoyer is probably the only former Browns QB that actually started a postseason game (or maybe Garcia?). And does anyone think that Hoyer was the primary cog in the DATs playoff run? Hell no. Their defense was, and Hoyer only played half their games.

That 4 Int. performance in their playoff game sure soured the DATs on Hoyer.

So? Would you start Fitzpatrick or Hoyer if it were up to you?

Would you start Hoyer or Sanchez?

And what is happening to the Kaepernick to Denver trade possibility?

  • Fitz over Hoyer over Sanchez.

Fitz's problem (actually the Jet's problem) is that he wants some of this money other low level starters are scarfing up.

So? You think Denver should grab him?

Or, do you think that Denver may be playing the game of starting a has been for a year, and hope they get their future QB either lower in the draft, or next year?

  • From 2 days ago, latest I found on Kaepernick:

Apparently written before Hoyer release. He could be in their mix now.

  • Why is everyone so set on Tyrod leaving the Bills? He was good to very good last year. Not happening.

They have a Super Bowl team. So find the best guy for 2016 and get him signed for two years. In my opinion that's Fitz. I think they could win with McCown or Hoyer too, but those guys are kinda fragile. Fitz will probably get you 16.

  • Is Fitzpatrick Unrestricted FA, or is he Restricted?

It happens. His current team could have the right to match any teams offer for him. Like the Browns did for Alex Mack two years ago. He signed an offer sheet from the Jags, Browns matched and kept him.

But...after some checking, I find that he is Unrestricted.

But also note: Case Keenum, who just signed yesterday back with the Rams was an RFA. Rams could have matched any offer made to him.....though I doubt any other teams gave him an offer. (possibly shied away because of knowledge that they could be matched)

  • On the ESPN Bill Polian Free Agent Tracker website, the following Quarterbacks are listed:

Ryan Fitzpatrick with a B grade

    Tavaris Jackson with a C-

All of the following with D grades:

    Jimmy Clausen

    Matt Flynn

    Josh Freeman

    Bruce Gradkowski

    Chad Henne

    Josh Johnson

    Matt McCloin

    Michael Vick

    Charlie Whitehurst

    TJ Yates.

Griffin was give a C+ grade

Hoyer does not appear on this list yet. Not sure how he will grade. I suggest no better than a C.

    I don't get that either.
