Martial Law is what's circulating on twitter so that part is still in the rumor status.
But closed bridges, gun fire, helicopters, and low flying jets are reported in the capital.

obamao will be jealous and frustrated

Military coup supposedly. Rumor is Erdogan finally pissed off enough of the people. Fuck that guy. He seems to be wayy to chummy with extremist shitheads.
-
Watching CNN. The Turkish military gave a statement saying they want to have a better relationship with the world and wanted to reinforce human rights in Turkey.
The military is secular and Erdogan is a loud mouthed Islamist.
-
Wow, this could get very ugly
-
I hope the military isnt doing this in favor of moving further into an islamist state

I thinking is unlikely. As said, erdogen is the more Islamist one there. You see in recent weeks things like shutting down gay pride marches, attacks against people in record shops (too western apparently) going basically unpunished.
And, as also said, he's a bot too chummy with the daesh-bags.

You mean there are people out there who wish to have a secular government which doesn't want to be influenced by religious doctrine? Surely, you jest. That is a novel concept.

Latest reports are showing that the attempted coup against Erdogan's Islamist regime has failed. Another dark day in the history of the Middle East
-
...and Erdogan will get to tighten up his grip on power and further push Turkey towards being an Islamic shithole.

Mahir Zeynalov @MahirZeynalov 3m3 minutes ago
Erdogan says this insurgency "is a blessing from Allah, because it will allow us to purge the military" from mutineers.
Zeynalov is a Turkish journalist. Looks like we will be seeing a way more volatile Turkey from here on out.

If they were going to have a coup they needed to be able to kill erdogan with little effort. Without him dead, obviously, failure.
