Thats not true.....they never said they were stripping the roster bare of all highly paid/mature players.....and, just last week, Sashi went on record as saying the were NOT rebuilding and everything they do is in an effort to win....and they are playing to win now....

How many GMs have come out and said "oh yeah this is a rebuild and we are totally going to suck"? The fans would revolt. They want a Superbowl team without any of the growing pains. This roster sucks and will be rebuilt.

Im not down....I understand we needed to rebuild. But, now we need 40 guys....soo, next year we gonna draft 5 LB's?.....and the years after we gonna draft 5 QB"S????
So....RGiii is supposed to be the next guy....but lets say we draft a qb....so how does he play w/o a line? or a Defense....
Teams rebuild all the time, w/o completely wiping out the roster in one fell swoop.....and they draft smarter then we just did....
If it's RGIII and then. next year, a QB with the #1....why draft a QB in the 3rd???(no foresight)...
If you have faith in your ability to select player, why draft 4 at the same position, when you have a few in house and the prospect of an all star coming back....why?....no faith in your own choices or evaluation of your own players???

Here's a good article on the panthers 2013 draft. That draft they used 2 top picks on defensive linemen when they already had a pretty solid core with Greg Hardy, Charles Johnson and others. At the time, people scoffed at drafting a dude with a heart problem and yet another linemen on top of that. It's pretty fair to say those dudes turned out okay.
It's impossible to use the foresight when rookies have played in three games mud. This plan was coming from 10,000 miles away so we might as well see if it works.

holy fucking shit...look not that i'm terribly upset about Kruger being let go, frankly it should have been done with the other vets like Dansby and Whitner. But holy fucking shit mudfly is abs right it does sound like Hue and the staff may not have been aware that Kruger was going to be cut. THat is HUGE. I mean that is potentially groundbreaking bullshit. Forget about Jimmy firing Hue after one season....Hue may resign after one season. Seriously no coach anywhere is going to put up with that. If Horton and Hue wanted Kruger to stay, as disappointed as i've personally been in Kruger...he stays, period. It doesn't matter what Fans think. If the coach wants Kruger or any of the players, they stay period end of discussion. Cuts based on salary cap issues happen months ago. You don't spring that kind of a cut on your coach this close to opening day.
THis is beyond bad if indeed Hue was not onboard with Kruger getting cut.

is it possible the front office is already losing confidence in Hue already? 31st in offense and 32nd in defense is pretty concerning as are the reports of the players being discontent. I personally loved our draft and thought we added some talent at least the POTENTIAL for talent is there. The cuts have been logical so far I'm not seeing any high effort players on the cut list. honestly the biggest concern i have is Ray Horton. Honestly if i were jimmy and hue came to me and said "I want to hire horton" i would have told him to "get the fuck out" and gotten a different head coach but hey thats me. we'll just have to see how this season plays out. but i think if it plays out too poorly we should prepare for a coaching change but not necessarily another "reset" maybe instead of looking at a new coach like a 3-4 year rebuild process we look at it more like just another piece in the puzzle.
Is it possible that everyone except Hue wanted Kruger off the team? Kruger clearly was not performing in the preseason games and the tape last year showed he wasn't as good as he was 2014. The stats don't show a starter and even though he was getting the veterans treatment maybe the FO thought it was undeserved. Maybe Hue is just disappointed in Paul and that he was going to be the guy and now he's looking at starting a rookie. It honestly sounds from the presser that hue was a supporter of kruger and the he was overruled in keeping him. Lets be honest here the "Analytics" dont support Paul's position as a starter and we are paying him too much to be a backup thats the bottomline.
but hey we could see a much better game on Thursday with an effective offense and a slightly less than porus defense. You dont hire the leading expert in sports Analytics if you dont plan on dramatically changing the way you run a football organization. This includes roster decisions and coaching so i think we'll need give this a little extra time to see how this looks I'm hoping coaching changes dont need to happen because of the learning curve of course but coaching in this style is more about optimization of talent and potential returns on said talent for team building and risk analysis for coaching schemes and styles. -
The Browns organization is already thought of as one of the biggest clown stocks in the league. If Hue Jackson is fired in under 3 years we become the joke of the decade, count on it.

i really like Hue. I just have doubt's in his decision making when it comes to personnel ... His handpicked defensive coordinator is a glaring example of that...preferably I'd like to see Horton gone and replaced immediately with damn near anyone but i don't think that's going to happen. Also the reason we are a laughing stock right now is that we have 87 wins and 185 losses in 272 contests. we have a 32% win rate when rounded up! Coaching turnover is irrelevant compared to w/l.
back on topic i think its a good trade and tend to agree with zombo on this one. We start the most unknowns and atleast we have the element of surprise right? lol. I mean that's pretty much how rg3 got rookie of the year! i see A LOT of potential in the browns this year -

and never coached and developed young players but rarely. Not this coaching staff. If they have a better young talent,
they teach him, and if he's good, he gets a job. Kriger will still land with another team - good luck to him.
I think we would have had this skyisfalling stuff if they had KEPT Kruger and cut another player.
