  • This is my thoughts on why they passed on a QB and traded down last year.

If they would've stayed at 2 and taken Wentz, the clock on their ( the front office and Hue) jobs would've already started.

Having passed on the QB they ( the front office and Hue) can tell Jimmy Haslem, we still don't have our QB

Now with this coming draft. They can say, "there is no "FRANCHISE" Qb to take at #1. So they can trade down again.

The analytics say, "we can't miss on ALL these picks" can we?

I hope this strategy works, because we are stuck with it for Atleast the next 2 years. IMO

Here's the problem, even with all the picks we had- at this point it looks like we have three decent starters, Coleman, Ogbah, Nassib. Jury out on Kessler and Drango. Remainder is cannon fodder, injured, or definitely not ready for prime time. Pursuing this model will take us around three more drafts to get competitive, by that time Joe Thomas will be on the verge of retirement. Remains to be seen if Drango can fill those shoes.

As I see it right now we need at least one or two starting OL, DL, 2 LBs, and an entire defensive backfield. That's not happening in just the 2017 draft. I just hope come next April, I don't hear... "the Cleveland Browns have traded the first overall pick for....."

So potentially five starters? Sounds great... at least compared to past FOs...

    As for the rest...

You can't say that, h. Sorry, but you can't, because unless you have been attending practices, then you have not seen enough of the "fodder" to make a judgement.

On a positive note three years.... this one plus two... seems about right.

Trivia question.....browns currently have 6 starters, all drafted in succession(first 6 picks in a row) the same draft......what year were they picked?

    🙂

    Rigged! I demand a recount!

    .....oh wait it's true. 😮

Too bad early on the BROWNS had a few legitimate shots at a win and would have erased that ugly 0-9 , 1-8 or 2-7 just has a better ring to it.

Yep, but then if we see 0-10 without signs of improvement, what then? Bring in a LFL team?

How about 2015 draft....with Shelton, Erving, Cooper, Orchard, Campbell, Johnson?

Looks right... except for missing asterisk by Erving...

Of course only one of the next six is still with the team. 😛

2016 only lacks its 2nd Coleman to also start its 1st six... although Schobert is now 2nd team I believe.

Coleman Kessler and Ogbah are the only 3 actually starting.....right now....Nassib and Schobert are off the bench.....Coleman aint happenin and is Ervings 2016 counterpart.....

And....my point wasnt necessarily that last years draft was better(I think they are very similar, actually)......but it was not the disaster so many claim it to be.......

  • Someone has to start... 😉

You're correct... Nassib is situational as well now, but did get a couple starts. #luxuryofriches

Well....it may still turn out to be a disaster. No one is distinguishing themselves....at all. All of these guys look like backup NFL players at best.

the insane thing is the browns now have a losing record since their inception in what...1950...they said it on tv last night...correct me if i am wrong..but me thinks that is what i heard...that is insane...poor otto and the rest of them...and jim brown wants to see a championship before he croaks...pfffft...good luck with that...err maybe if he lives to be 150...

After last night Tour- I don't need to see those practices- because if the bench cannon fodder was any better than the starting cannon fodder, it would be starting by now.....

Hey we're the "Best" at being the "Worst". LOL, just a thought- will the 2008 Lions break out the champagne if we win a game?

No, you heard right... but missed the fact that this is the first time in franchise history the franchise has ever been below .500...

Sorry, if it was better I'd left that added info unsaid.

Yep, worst ever! Worst fucking team, worst fucking owner, worst fucking head coach, worst fucking plan in the history of this once proud team. I wish DeeDee would fuck Jimmy in the ass till he's dead!

  • The real question will be this: If we go 0-16 how long will Jimmy be able to live with it?

The rest of us have only the popular vote, whereas Jimmy holds all the electoral votes. 😁
