  • That whole list sucks donkey balls for the most part.   Chase Daniel could be interesting and Dorsey is familiar with him.  Maybe he's another Jimmy Grabsapillow.  I also think we will look seriously at Bradford and McCarron.

I don't know about that.  If Daniels were any good I think his skills would have manifested by now.  they just have not.

Would probably be a very similiar deal that we gave RG III...   Something that's easy to get out of after one year if his injury history stays the same.

Except...per the Walter Football link....he is a free agent...and it would not cost any draft picks.   You just sign him.

Is Walter wrong...or did he leave something out?

  • Gipper only hates Derek Anderson because of a trademark infringement on his nickname.

    😉

I'd be okay with Rosen and McCown.

  • Somehow I don't think the Vikes will keep both Keenum and Bridgewater, both those guys want to start and Keenum has probably earned an 8- 10 mil per year deal. So if he hits the market I wouldn't mind paying him 20 mil for 2 years.

Pretty good wages for 13 or 14 games spent in the University Hospital orthopedic section.

Are you referring to Bridgewater or Keenum. My post was regarding Keenum.

  • Why would McCown 'NOT' be in the good graces of Browns fans?   If our previous FO's had any capability with foresight he should have been our QB this year.

Bilgewater. Not sure about Keenum I just think he got lucky because the team was doing well. Neither of them strike me as a Wily old veteran who would be happy to Mentor a kid.

That is why I Xed them both out of my list to come here to serve the particular purpose that we need.

Agreed on Bradford- if he can stay healthy- the Vikes will likely keep Keenum and Teddy. As I posted in another thread interest in McCarron (I hope) would be close to nothing if he loses his hearing on being a UFA, and the Bengals slap a second round tender on him. I'd like to think Dorsey will tell Hue- not worth the #33- I don't care how much you like him.  They give him an original round tender- different story.

Ditto Gip's take on Fitzpatrick- he's not very good, but outside of the Po rah-rah pumpers does anyone really expect a lot of wins out of the Browns in 2018? I don't.

Didn't think McCown was a UFA, but if he's got another 2017 year production left in his 39 year old body, I'd welcome him back with open arms- and he'd be relatively cheap (last contract was for $7 million) and a perfect mentor for Darnold- or whoever we draft.

Of course a lot of people out here think it's a good idea to pick up somebody that I wouldn't consider better than a bridge and making him the starter and not picking a quarterback in the top 4.

Well....honestly....the ONLY guys that I see on the FA list that would fit that bill would be Cousins...or Garrapolo.  And as I said, he is staying in SFO I suspect.  And I am not that big of a Cousins guy.

Me neither especially if we're stuck with him for 4 years and we don't get a top qb draft pick.
