Smh. Are you trying to compete with others on here?
Reid wrote an op Ed in the NYT
We spoke at length about many of the issues that face our community, including systemic oppression against people of color, police brutality and the criminal justice system. We also discussed how we could use our platform, provided to us by being professional athletes in the N.F.L., to speak for those who are voiceless.
After hours of careful consideration, and even a visit from Nate Boyer, a retired Green Beret and former NFL player, we came to the conclusion that we should kneel, rather than sit, the next day during the anthem as a peaceful protest. We chose to kneel because it’s a respectful gesture. I remember thinking our posture was like a flag flown at half-mast to mark a tragedy.
Smh. Are you trying to compete with others on here?

Compete? As in who is better at making you look stupid?
I didn't ask for proof that some ex- military guy believes players have the right to protest. That we already know.
I asked you to take it upon yourself to find evidence that NFL players hate Trump...instead of demanding WSS do it for you.

Well part of Woody's MO is to deny facts while manding documentation. Of course there's no way to document the fact that these Negroes hate the president except by comparing the end of last season where there was only a smattering of "protests" but later Trump Tazza saw that one of those love it or leave it statements and now they are up in arms.
That's beside the point that their so-called protest is actually counter productive but they don't care about that and I would venture to say that the mainstream media loves it because it whoops up the Great unwashed and inspires them to get off the couch and November and food.
Seriously if they wanted to make the problem better they would use this inspiration to tell their people not to commit Violet and drug-related crimes at a rate much higher than the average citizen. And those numbers could easily be documented.
But again as with most affluent and spoiled kids the attention is the goal not a solution to the problem. Someone in his twenties who has been shepherded through school and life because he has a physical gift is likely to think pretty highly of himself.
It's my opinion that almost all protest boils down to attention, and that includes the Tea Party or supporters of Confederate monuments, but it's usually the left, and or younger people, really because conservatives tend to be middle-aged. Not always.
I'm not saying that police officers overreacting with black criminal suspects is a good thing, it's just that it's BS to say they are bringing attention to it. Every single isolated incident whether it's right or wrong is all over the front pages of the papers and the internet. All the while let's say right this minute there are a multitude of reasonably innocent young black males being gunned down in the street or women being raped and murdered and without looking it up on the internet I bet those who support the NFL protest wouldn't know any of their names.

PS I read a clever but ridiculous take from a hard left guy on Facebook. Strange fellow posts all the time about his church Etc and then immediately upon coming home posts a dozen hate-filled Trump posts. But his take, (because he knows many conservatives profess to be Christians) is that the NFL is denying these players there right to express their religion by praying for peace in the Inner City. Says that many religions require the followers pray on their knees. I realize nobody here has he used that oh, I just thought it was funny.

I posted a quote from one of the players that started the protest to tell you what it was about. That is why they're protesting. Not to disrespect the military, or police. Not because they just hate Trump so much. Not because you somehow think they've all grown up as spoiled brats all life trying to seek attention...
That was in response to Steve proclaiming he REALLY knew what it was about, though he provided no evidence. He then proceeded to make a bunch of claims without any support, but that's nothing new. Going on and on about the real motives, because he actual knows, just because

But wait I thought it was all out of respect and love for the oppressed in the inner cities?
And that's not from The Blaze.

Where do you read in there that they protested because of Trump?
I don't think you're keeping up with the course of events. Or at least, you're choosing not to.
That's why there are public opinion polls asking what the protests are about, and a sizeable portion of idiots responds "it's to disrespect our flag and military!!!!"

Which is exactly why the protests are happening. Unless you insult the veterans the flag The Anthem the country etc etc etc nobody will sit up and take notice. I just don't think they are smart enough to realize that it is counterproductive . Even if they did believe in that cause more than they believe in self aggrandizement . Shock and offend. But those are the reasons you think it's so cool.

Uhhh... I read the article at the top of the page. No where does it say "these protests are because we have Trump." I already said that and you chose not to respond to it.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's counterproductive
Just because you're shocked and offended doesn't mean everyone is.
You have their own words what the protests are about, and you refuse to believe it.
Not to mention you keep posting like you know what these protests are really about. That you know what these players are really doing. All while insulting them and not providing any bit of evidence other than "trust me with these negroes."
When did I say I think this is "so cool". Jesus Christ try not to Typical Steve for two seconds.

As always, typical Steve is being right and making you look like the idiot that you are.

But seriously I posted you an article saying that these protests are focused on Trump. You want to pretend that it's all some sort of deep-seated love for the downtrodden, great.
Plus if you don't think they're counterproductive and are actually making all the bad people love Intercity criminals more than let's go with that. It's stupid but it is typical Woody.

Before the election and Trumps words calling those on field "son a bitch", No... the protests were not focused on Trump.
He did however invite such focus on himself with his careless of choice words as the leader of the free world. Thus, the focus is well deserved.

Deserved or not that's where the focus is which is what I said. The protests were pretty much smooth over until Trump decided to shoot off his mouth. The fact that he's an arsehole does not make my statement incorrect.
Maybe he's trying to stir up his base. Just like the Democrats and their bloc vote are stirring up there base.

I just don't find it worth complaining about the direction in which some of the more venomous things are directed when the man invited it upon himself.
For what it's worth you do have a bit of a point - most of these guys have no idea why they're kneeling, maybe at best a vague concept but really can't articulate it. Which there in lies probably 75% of the issue. Some can though, as the league isn't completely filled by dull minds. It is those that should be speaking the loudest and most often. Then I feel there would be far less issues communicating the general point many want conveyed.

I'm not necessarily complaining just pointing out what I think the core of the protest is about now. I never denied that Trump brings it on himself. I agree with his position but if it was me I wouldn't have said so.

actually I don't think anybody can distill the point of the protest satisfactorily. I mean if it's about police brutality not the most racist negro hating member of this board wants to see a black man killed unnecessarily or a minor criminal beaten up.
Some can though, as the league isn't completely filled by dull minds.
well maybe...

Plus Tia, has there ever been a time that you think that incidents of police brutality have actually been under-reported and we need NFL players to bring it to attention?
And like I said before however many people are going to be murdered in Chicago just over this weekend Oh, you think anybody here will ever hear their names?
Maybe that would be a more appropriate protest.

Just for the record and this is just one town.

Haven't heard of a single protest. You?
