And adult language should be left to adults...

Tarkenton was not a running QB. He averaged fewer than 3 carries per game over his 18 year career. He was a scrambling QB... big difference... and was so out of necessity.

Jackson is a young, healthy, running QB. At present he is dangerous and averaging close to 17 carries per game over his six starts. Should his head for the game develop before it gets knocked off, then he could become very dangerous. Such is the internal race all running QBs run.

If there is a "black tarkenton" in the league then it's either Dak Prescott or Russell Wilson.

Let's stop the run and make Jackson have to beat us with his arm. Protect Baker and let him sling it and we win by 20.

I'm quite familiar with Lamar Jackson, as I watched him torture my college team for 3 years. Underestimate him at your own peril. I'll not totally sure what his 40 time is, but I can virtually promise you that it's faster than anybody on our defense since Ward is out. The Ravens are averaging over 200 yards rushing a game since Lamar took over, and that's pretty crazy. Since he took over QB duties, the Ravens have 1300 yards rushing. The next closest team has 1000. Yo.

Then there is the defense. I could rattle off a bunch of stats, but I don't need to. They're nasty and they make life miserable for people. Look no further than what they did against the Bolts, a team that beat us like stepchildren.

But saying all that, I actually agree with you somewhat in that we ARE a good team. We're pretty solid, and that's remarkable when you consider where we were just a year ago. I also have to admit that I was COMPLETELY wrong about keeping Hue Jackson. I was so desperate for "continuity" that I had blinders on to reality. I figured having ANYBODY for 3 years was better than circling through coach after coach, system after system. Wrong.

I'm close to making my prediction for the game, but I have to tell ya, I'm not leaning towards us here. Playing against a team fighting for their playoff destiny at THEIR house, and against a nasty defense is a VERY tall order. What do we have going for us this time? Well, we're not the same team that actually BEAT the Ravens, and we're winners of 3 in a row. We're playing infinitely better now, but then again, so are the Ravens. It seems like their defense scores a TD all the time, and they make life difficult for everyone.

As always Ghoolie, I enjoyed the colorful post, and I sure hope you're right about the game. Hey, you were right about Hue Jackson, so maybe you're right about the game tomorrow, too!

I never said Tarkenton was a running QB.

I said he was a run-first Qb, which he was. Scrambling is what? Walking?

Let me make this lesson easier for you to understand. We will call in FEET FIRST QBs.

Tarkenton hardly got into the pocket and he would position himself to begin running to freedom. His choke champion status was caused because he was a fun first QB.

We face another black Tarkenton Sunday and Williams should zone blitz him to death.

    3 interceptions and benched.

    Fuck This piece of garbage.

Award after award for our rookieQB piles up for Baker and yet the skirt posters are sceeered of Lamer. Fuck him and his raisins. Ohhhh myyyyy what about that raisin D say the skirts. I’m a Browns fan. Our rookie QB gonna smoke him some raisin D. And Blake Williams and company gonna smoke them a QB. Great post. My sentiments exactly. It isn't just the talking heads who pissed me off, it is some of the sissies on this board who were sucking Texan penis after we lost. These faggots went on and on about how unbeatable these guys were and how great their D, and QB was. The truth is that the Browns shut them down in the second half. Had Baker not had a brain fart 1st half, and a few dumb kicks, the Browns would be playing for the division championship tomorrow, maybe even resting the starters. If we play the Texans 10 times, we would give them the red ass at least 9 of those times, possibly sweeping them all 10.

The Browns will urinate on Blow-two-more tomorrow.

And we better be careful, some of those faggots don't like swear words.

I saw that brain fart as part of his learning curve. He’s not going to be able to beat a really good team until he sees what a couple of real good nfl teams are like. The thing that really stands out to me about our young QB, he’s a very good student. Not grade wise, he has the ability to learn. Kinda the opposite of the virgin eared ones.

Wow, you guys sure put an awful lot of stock in to Mayfeild. You also are making it sound if the Ravens are a bunch of bums. Jackson is one play away from being 6-0. He went toe to toe with probably two of the best teams in the AFC.....Chiefs and Chargers. The Browns will go as far as Mayfeild takes them. The Ravens will go as far as their defense will take them....big difference. The Ravens are built for this time of year. As I said in another thread the Ravens have no problem of running the ball, running out one of the best kickers in the NFL and beating you 9-3. Mayfeild? You will find out what he made of tomorrow. Remember what is on the line for the Ravens tomorrow, the division, the playoffs, their entire season. The Ravens will be ready to play tomorrow. Hate him or not Harbaugh will have his team prepared to play. They have been beat but rarely does a Ravens team get beat because they were not ready to play.

So a "run-first Qb" is not a "running QB". You can't be serious since you've "had enough bullshit".

But just in case, Fran was neither.

In his career, which began as a rookie QB for an expansion team, he often scrambled for his life. Ditto for his NYG years when the G-men were mediocre at best.

Upon returning to the Vikes and their SB runs, he ran less than twice per game and posted his best passing stats.

I get that one of your few claims to fame around here is coining the black Tark label, but that doesn't mean it's accurate.
