Sounds good, we take ALL of our VISA reward points as restaurant gift cards for gifts or our treats have about $300 in my drawer now. Ummmmm, need to get busy on those.

  • Had a really good GAMEDAY meal before yesterday's INDIANS game, sirloin steakburgers about 1/3 pounders on the grill with American cheese lettuce and whatever, baked beans, potato salad and my weak moment treat plain ol' potato chips to snack on during the game......I could eat a bag full of them but have to quit.

Sometimes simple can be nice. The grillin' life.  😁

......oh we haven't had one our favorites Wedgewood Pizza since maybe February, on the list plus a pile of unused gift cards to The Olive Garden and others maybe a Sunday GAMEDAY meal.

And we know that you can not beat the good ol' ma & pa restaurants in the MV area. (see the MV pizza cook-off for some names)  🙂

Just from my desk drawer most all are $50s and not the ones in my wife's purse or the ones I have not sent for yet.

Give me your number and I will fax you a few.       😉

Our local mall has our 1 good Italian/Greek pie Maker with real recipe dust & the Mall is closing it's doors in a week 😮..I may get the typing shakes with no Stromboli Saturday's? We got tired of the Hut's & Inns of the Pizza world long ago.. Anybody tried the Motor City Pizzas from Walmart? $5.99 It's not as horrid as any pizza place in NC..soon to get worse...  yep, my final Rant of the week before football.F00D, thanks & i'll be taking any advice to my local store selves for the taste test

If you're not in the Raleigh- Durham metropolis or maybe Winston- Salem, I'd agree you're SOL. Mustard is one of the many things I don't like- so Carolina barbecue that's mustard based is a no-go for me.

BTW, as to hot dogs- those "World Famous" hot dogs they serve up at Tony Packos in Toledo are layered in some of their meat sauce, onions and cheese optional.  I just order 'em up plain, but the wife (Toledo native) orders 'em with the works. But really order some "to go" and a few hours later you have a soggy mess that I wouldn't touch. PS Packos does serve up a pretty tasty roast beef hot shot.

  • Family in Toledo still loves Packo's..Late father loved Pete's on starr ave. in Oregon..So at the wake? we had both...see, i did get to 8 months later before rant 😁

  • We were in Traverse City, MI & Indian River, MI a few weeks ago. Stopped at Tony Packo's (Jamie Farr was there a few days prior) & also Tony's in Birch Run, MI (one of my "bucket list" destinations) for that BLT with a pound of bacon on it. Ate 1/2 there & 1/2 the next day. Next year I'll get it on rye. LOL

One slice of tomato is visible in the picture, & there was another slice or 2 under all that bacon. They also serve it with an xtra cup of mayo. I asked for "light lettuce".

I agree it is not your normal hot dog, but it IS unique & those are the places that become "must stops" for many of us. They are definitely different destinations. Certainly worth checking out. The original (on Front St in Toledo) is the one to head for.

Depends on how strictly you want to define a "hot dog"...  Call it a Hungarian sausage dog if you insist.  🙂  FWIW, it took me years of getting dragged into Packos by the relatives before I finally realized what the fuss about the place was. All those celebrity autographed buns on the walls say it's a must stop when in Toledo. I can certainly see why someone wouldn't like their menu at all. Sort of the same way I was underwhelmed stopping at the original & nationally famous Arthur Bryant's BBQ in Kansas City many years ago. A hole in the wall place with presidents autographs on the wall.
