How are his chances nil of beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh? He already beat them there and is coming in with a lot of momentum.
Game is a Toss up... Turnovers and special Teams will determine winner. Not the home Crowd... Home crowd no a big deal in a Conference Title game.

Yes, I agree. That is essentially what I said. Note that I also said that the Steelers have had the better of it this season in TO ratio. Just look at last week's game.

It's the draft. Cleveland has been so insanely inept at drafting, that anyone
could do better if they picked up a predraft magazine or looked at a website
minutes before the draft.
I am not kidding. Browns have been _that_ bad at drafting since, well, since
the 1980s. Just look at who they picked, especially the super high picks
they accumulate each year for having such a horrible record - almost
every single season. With picks that high, they should be able to luck
into drafting some probowl-level players. But no - they still screw up the picks.
2010 might be the first decent draft that have had in over 25 years.
2010 1 1 7 7 Joe Haden DB Florida - maybe the first decent first round pick
since.....I don't even know when.
2 2 6 38 T.J. Ward DB Oregon - Seems decent too.
3 2 27 59 Montario Hardesty RB Tennessee - Horrid pick and they gave up a bunch
of picks to get him. He will never be healthy for any length of time and I warned Browns fans of this
as soon as they drafted him.
4 3 21 85 Colt McCoy QB Texas - Could be a steal. We will see if he doesn't
end up having his career ruined just from being in Cle, ala Tim Couch. Couch was considered a can't
miss prospect, but just being in Cle ruined his entire career. He ended up having a pop gun arm
and too weak of a character. Didn't he literally cry about the fans being too mean to him? 5-8 are

Actually, you exposed that you don't have a complete clue of the worth of some of the later round players.
These high-selected players have sucked because we have not been able to establish any consistency since our expansion, and just about anyone would have failed in the system. Also, Big Ben would have sucked here.
It is also stupid to blame in hindsight. Noticed how you listed just about every selected recently as a decent pick? ... oh, except of course a player who hasn't seen a down yet because of injury.
Who should we pick this season, loverboy?

Silverback: I agree that the Browns drafting is part of the problem we have had around here, but it is only a portion of the problem. The dysfunction in the organization overall and the inability of the coaches, be they HCs or OC/DCs to put their stamp on the organization are probably far, far more of a problem.
Counter that with the Steelers who have had extraordinary stability in an organization with the Rooney business model, plus, they have had a coach on that team who has essentially, in my mind the end all and be all of the Steelers success. And I am not talking about Tomlin or Cowher before that, but I am talking about LeBeau.
My contention all along has been that he does what Bum Phillips always talked about: (He can take his'n and beat your'n or he can take your'n and beat his'n). In the recent times that the Steelers have had success it has been with LeBeau as the Steelers DC. I believe that he could take those guys that you listed the Browns as having drafted and got very nearly the same success out of them that he got out of the guys that he has had.

First off you two it's REVIS! not REAVIS. As far as those two are concerned and changing games it's Troy Polamalu but a SUBSTANTIAL margin. Revis is asked to shut down the number one guy. Doesn't come up in run support often, doesn't float in coverage, doesn't blitz anywhere close to as much. Revis is one hell of a player but he doesn't have the impact that Polamalu does on a opposing offense. As far as Ben is concerned it's light years. You can't argue otherwise and shouldn't argue otherwise and the fact that you are highlights one thing Gipper. You're still wearing the Brown colored glasses.

if this guy plays well, the jets win.

The Browns have been a has been team since the NL merger. Modell was their only hope but they told him to go f-ck himself and said no to a new stadium while investing in new venues for the Cavaliers and Indians. And Cleveland calls itself a football town? this football town just cannot compete at the elite level and with Holmgren (who will retire in 2-3 years) they won't anytime soon.

No team has run the ball on the Pittsburgh Steelers and there isn't a better core of LB's in the league. Add in the fact that the Pittsburgh defense is the consensus number one D in the league all leads to one thing. The game being placed on Sanchez and I don't believe Sanchez will handle the pressure in Pittsburgh against a hungry defense. The Pittsburgh offense is also much better. The Jets have a long, hard road ahead of them and I don't believe the teams are all that evenly matched when you factor in the Pittsburgh defense. If anything we're most evenly matched with Baltimore.

Someone moved the damn thread before I could respond- consider the front office- the Browns had months to get the FO in order in '99, the Jags and Panthers had YEARS.
This has been discussed before ad nauseum-- yup in years past, the Browns have drafted like rubbish which is why they have SUCKED recently. I'll defend the Couch pick because he was the best prospect coming out of college in '99, unless you want to say the Browns should have had ESP and taken Donovan McNabb, who was rated lower. OR picked up a certain grocery bagging former Arena league guy by the name of Kurt Warner in the expansion draft.
Cortney Brown- or Jamal Lewis, Brian Urlacher- gee blew that one.
Gerrard Warren (who's actually had a journeyman career) and this one really hurts Ladainian Tomlinson or Richard Seymour
William Green- now if they had taken Tomlinson the year before like they should have, the pick could have been Lito Sheppard or traded up one spot to take Albert Haynesworth.
Jeff Faine, first non- bust- but taking a center in the first round, you had better not.
Kellen (Evil Knievel) Winslow- I hated this pick 1\2 the board wanted Rothlisberger- and Vince Wilfork was available too.
Braylon Edwards- not horrible- at least when he's not out getting arrested for DUI @ 4AM.
Kam Wimbley- at the time it looked OK but the Browns swapped places with the Ravens and they took Haloti Ngata.
Joe Thomas- great pick, Brady Quinn lousy pick
With the pick they traded away for Brady Quinn the Browns could have selected Felix Jones, Rashard Mendenhall, or Chris Johnson. Great move there guys.

I'm not upset about the Browns repeatedly trading down to obtain extra picks- but just for historical reasons, they would have looked like geniuses if they had taken Clay Matthews Jr instead of Alex Mack. We needed linebackers far more than a center.
So there you have it in great detail about the Browns draft suckiness. And BTW, Ahtyba Rubin is far from a bust- in fact he could eventually make a pro bowl or two at NT.
A final thought- every team blows it on player selection, it's just that the better teams do it less often. So let me remind you of Gabe Rivera and Bubby Brister. Or the Colts take Ryan Leaf instead of Peyton Manning- we're talking ONE draft slot that would have changed the history of the NFL. Da Bungles draft record isn't much better than the Browns over the last 20 years. Every team had a shot at Joe Montana, and multiple shots at Tom Brady. Where would Marquis Colston get drafted now? Higher than seventh round I daresay. A bunch of teams whiffed on Jerry Rice. I could go on, but you get the drift.....
