  • I guess draft talk will be off the air for an hour or 2 on NFL and ESPN channels

  • Great we get extra pissed off brady in week 5

  • Brady takes his wrath out on the Browns and propels us into #1 overall in 2017. OK.

May as well put all the court stuff here. JM indicted by Dallas Grand Jury-Misdemeanor Assault--- http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2016/04/24/johnny-manziel-misdemeanor-assault-charge/83484066/

Just another brick in the Browns wall of shame
  • The Patriots usually overlook the Browns and Brady isn't super human. If it is indeed Brady's first game back, Browns win.

    Scheduling foresight by Roger....

  • Well until today we had Brady in his 5th game, now we have him in his first, and their offense trying to readjust to him being back. Id rather face Garropolo sure, but 1st game back is a nice consolation prize.

  • I saw that Brady renegotiated his contract so the suspension will only cost him $235,000 instead of $2.1 million

Yup... pretty smart for a guy that went to Michigan...

  • Fuck Tom Brady and his ratarded kids.

  • Were lucky to win one game, like this will make a fucking difference.

  • Fuck Rodger G. And everyone that's a sociopath.

  • Goodell is wrong – just like every person on this thread who decided all the accusations must be true because you don’t like Brady.

I don’t like Brady and I never will – I’m an Ohio State fan and a Browns fan.

However, science is objectively correct REGARDLESS of whether you like it or not.. even if it doesn’t actually work the way you’ve decided it should work!

    1) Ideal Gas Law [Physics 101] shows Goodell is objectively wrong.
    2) Watch the MIT professor - you just might learn something. When you're about to object - remember this: He's right, you're wrong.

Whose balls actually did not match the Ideal Gas Law? The COLTS - not the Pats.

    Deal with it.

  • well, when we used to run dirt bikes up in the mountains, you didn't have your tires

high pressured - you let some of the air out -

you had far more grip on the old abandoned dirt mining roads.

I got yer science right here.

Of course the air pressure inside of footballs and tires change a bit with outside temps.

that's why the patriots kept their balls in the locker room. They would be a little deflated when'

they went out on the field. They could have had a heater in a closet, that warmed the footballs up

more, at the right air pressure...so they would deflate a little more out on the field.

I haven't read what the equipment manager(s) testified to, but if there were no evidence,

there wouldn't be this reinstatement on appeal.

  • None of that happened, Cal.

Pats had neither a heater nor a closet on the field. Pats' balls were kept in a bag OUTDOORS, OPEN TO THE RAIN.

Unfortunately for the haters, the Pats' footballs were EXACTLY what ideal gas law predicts.

The Wells report did not show their data because it was incorrect -- note that the transient analysis in the Wells report had wet and dry balls heating at the same rate, which makes no sense even to type. [ you have to heat the water off the wet ball first... Of course it takes longer to heat a ball that's wet to the same ambient inside temp vs a ball that's dry ]

Then there was the question of the TIME at which the pats' and colts' balls were measured. Guess what: Colts balls were measured second... AFTER THEY HAD TIME TO RISE IN PSI.

There was no deflating - it didn't exist.

  • My first desire is for the Cleveland Browns to go to the Superbowl, if that doesn't happen I hope it's the Patriots.

Just to shut some of these whiners up.

    🙂

Close, but since the a football's volume is not fixed there's another variable to consider. So a fudge factor in addition to "z" is required. Probably not significant, but if we're being rigorous...

... and their "volume" with altitude.

  • All of you have this whole thing bass ackwards. This has not bee so much about whether or not the footballs here were inflated.....or whether or not Brady knew about it. He probably did. It is about 2 other things:

    1. The other teams and owners being tired of the Patriots attempts to take advantage of loopholes in the rules...or to go beyond the rules....i.e. Their Cheating. This was just the last straw for a lot of the rest of the NFL ownership tolerating the cheating. So the harsh punishment they were doled out were because of their pattern of abuse, and not just this one incident.

    2. It is also about the Powers Invested in the Commissioner by the Collective Bargaining agreement to mete out what he deems, in his sole discretion, to be appropriate punishment to transgressors. The court ruled that they will not substitute their judgment for that of the NFL Commissioner. This appellate court said that it is NOT their job to hear the facts of the case de novo. It was their job to determine if the Union, or Brady had the right to challenge his decision. They court held that they do not. Only if there was gross abuse would they have done something.....and they felt that there was no gross abuse in the punishment. They said....IF the Commish determined that there was a violation....they would not second guess his conclusions. They also affirmed his unfettered right to mete out the punishment for these transgressions. And they would not second guess that as well if it were anything short of a lifetime ban or the like.

The courts said: if the union does not like the fact that the Commissioner has these powers...powers THEY granted him in their CBA, their remedy is to not challenge the powers he weilds at this point.....but to renegotiate those powers as part of the future Collective Bargaining agreement.

And you know why this issue isn't all that important to the Union? Because it really only affects a handful of guys. Out of thousands of players who have been in the league since 2006...when a lot of this began , only about 80 people in all that time have come under discipline. And fyi..... most of the players in the league probably agreed with most of the punishment dealt......for domestic abuse/drugs etc. This one incident of discipline for cheating on the rules isn't going to make the union want to go to war over cheaters/abusers/drug users.

The players are interested in their salaries, benefits, retirement, health care...etc. etc. They are not going to go stiff backed because some Ray Rice wifebeater, Adrian Peterson childabuser, Josh Gordon drug user gets what some may think is harsh discipline.

They will let the punishment of these guys ride as long as they get their money and benefits.
