Context? Really? Not normal football jargon.

Nope. But we've got a guy that started following Jabrill on the recruiting trail, watched every college snap he took, and saw him in person multiple times

Vs a few guys that think they're elite NFL scouts

Vs even more guys that made their evaluation as soon as the word "Michigan" came up

    Just saying. Context

Woody, I have to admit my dislike for the Woverines is far less than my disgust for the Golden Domers. I wouldn't hate you guys 1\2 as bad if you could do something about those horribly ugly helmets. Topped only by Maryland's. 🙂

  • Wow, the nay sayers crack me up.

I like the picks so far!! The browns are putting together a team first and then will plug in a Qb to finish it next year.

Why draft a Qb and have him get destroyed or end up gun shy this upcoming season?

Peppers is going to be the next polomalu and totally rejuvenate the defense.

I have no problems with what they have done and until the season starts not a single one of you can predict what is going to happen. Let it play out and then reserve judgement.

    Go Browns!!!!

    Oh and Fuck Off Ghoolie!!

I wish I could laugh like you!

It's the local media I blame for it though, they whip the fans up into a frenzy. For the likes of Grossi it's better for his career for the browns to suck and no matter where they go or what they do, he'll peddle that

  • I don't really think Grossi is that bad. Goldhammer is the one who needs the Browns to suck so he can continue his heel routine. He is such a weak radio personality that he needs a gimmick like trolling browns fans and nepotism.

At least our helmets are money in the bank. Just look closely at the letters in the order they appear left to right. 😁 Get it?

But they are playoff caliber QBs who have been there a time or two.

The Browns need Jimmy Garrapolo yesterday. Drafting a QB now is another hope and see approach. Chicago did not screw around even after signing Glennon.

Don't get all butt hurt because we didn't trade for Wonder Boy. Don't single out the Browns either. The Chiefs and Texans traded away first round picks to move up and take qbs- but passed on offering their first rounders to the Patriots for Jimmy. Meaning they liked Mahomes and Watson better. Repeat after me- overrated.... Yeah, the Browns probably Browns it up taking Kizer, I would have traded a couple thirds too- to take Trubisky- But to move up from #12 would have been a sell the ranch move. The Bears not only screwed the Browns, but the Titans on top of it taking Mitch that early. I'd bet some heavy coin Cleveland and Tennessee had a trade worked out for the #5 pick. The Titans wound up having to take a WR @ #5 that they were planning on taking at #12.

One man's "screwed" is another man's "saved"...

Consider your examples of teams moving up for QBs... what does that tell you about the so-called, consensus, best QB in the draft?

Back later.... gotta go say hello to an old friend I haven't seen in a while...

    @boo-fagley said:

Its better for the Pats to keep Jimmy for insurance. Brisett can do the job, but Jimmy is ready to step in now like Brady was for Bledsoe.

boo... welcome back buddy... was hoping you'd have had some fresh material for your return, but I guess not...

  • My favorite line for the entire draft so far with a bit of paraphrase from memory, "The 49ers set out the old bait under a box with a stick and a string trap and caught themselves a Bear."

Now that there is funny, I don't care who you are. 😁

  • Lynch picked up a second rounder next year from the Saints he's impressing in his first draft

  • Pretty good article on the draft so far: https://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl-draft-winners-losers-believe-browns-things-smart-way-044250536.html

"Then the Browns – who everyone figured would get crazy and take a quarterback, maybe even trading up, in a draft class that wasn’t deep at quarterback – had a moment of zen. They were the sellers, not the buyers."

I don't fit any of those..... and still love the pick. 😎

The Browns defense has the potential to be lights out, but you cannot have an offense that puts them on the field all game long.

The Browns defense was like 31st or 32d last year. It is going to take more than a single DE to improve that.......and even adding a DB won't do it all. Two things could: the guys taken in past years really step up: Ogbah/Nassib/Schobert/Orchard etc. ....or they get really, really lucky with these lower round picks and find a couple of defensive studs that everyone else missed on.

  • The Draft it's like kissing girls in the dark. you don't know who you are kissing.

but grown men are paid 6 figure wages to do so. great work if you get it.

  • I'm very excited about the additions to the team. They are the incremental increases in talent that we needed.

The Defense is getting a huge upgrade and the offense will improve with the addition of Josh Gordon, Goodell willing.

    Good

  • I know it's a bit of state sponsored propaganda and it has a long 43min run time, but man, I dug watching all of this.

(The highlights of our 7th round RB made me giggle a bit - dude looks snappy.... and our TE is just ridiculous)

A point they made at the end really hit home with me. To paraphrase, they said had Kizer come out last year he would have been on par with Wentz based on his 2015 season. Earlier they made the point that ND coach Kelly didn't do him any favors this past year, something I totally agree with. Kelly sucks and will not last much longer @ ND IMO.

    Sorry all positions filled ...lol

  • This draft was brilliant. And having scouts and staff and coaches...who look at the players who have character, love the game,

are well spoken (not thug attitudes and english)...have the work ethic, ...this draft turns this team around.

The only way it was possible was making the trade down. Our three first round draft picks alone, are a greater value

than staying and taking Carson Wentz, who really was my pick if they stayed where they were.

Biggest new takeaway from the video - is Njoku mentioning that "well, you DID something".... the Browns had said

they were going to do something to get him in the first round...they did. And that is right in front of the squealers,

who were poised to draft him, by all accounts.

Haven't heard much from the squealers, our third pick in the first round was probably going on the next pick.

    Just brilliant.

  • The draft COULD be brilliant. I'm definitely not upset with the results, but the success of the draft will come down to several factors:

    1. Trading down from 12 and not taking Hooker when we DESPERATELY needed a free safety. Add in the fact that he played for OSU, and it really hurts. If Pepper busts, and Hooker jams out...

    2. QB's taken in the first round. If Mitch Trubisky and/or Deshawn Watson turn into "franchise QB's", or even "decent starting QB's", this draft is a failure unless Cody completely steps up or Kizer develops quickly. Also, if Carson Wentz makes big strides and turns into a stud, our regime will have passed on multiple players that could've ended our pain on the one position that has tortured us for an entire generation. Our coaches and GM have repeatedly stated that job #1 is to "find our QB", and we're now in year two without having any idea. Could it be Kizer? Osweiler? Kessler? Yeah, it could be, and for the careers of everyone involved in our team's decision making...I hope so.

Your relentless, "character" drum-beat certainly seems to have played out. Clearly a focus of this FO...

The one "flyer" we took on Brantley was low cost and apparently after a fair amount of due diligence. Here's a related article...

Browns owner Dee Haslam says she trusts football personnel group on decision to draft Caleb Brantley

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns owner Dee Haslam said on Tuesday the decision to draft Florida defensive lineman Caleb Brantley came down to a simple factor: trusting the people in charge of the football side of things.

"We really trust our football personnel group to make these decisions and they vet every situation very carefully," Haslam said following a groundbreaking ceremony at John Adams High School for the installation of a new, turf football field. "They do their research. We trusted that, and we have to trust in that."
