Basic deal:    anything you rank like 9-10  should be a spot addressed with our first round picks.

Positions ranked  8-7  with 2d round picks.    5-6  third rounders....and the rest.

I just hope that the BROWNS FO does as good of a job on their list. And thank goodness they have a ton of picks.

GO BUCKEYES, BROWNS, INDIANS, CAVS, YSU, NAVY and yes I like ND!

Which positions do you think need to be addressed in FA instead of the draft ......I think a vet at tackle is better than taking one in the draft at the moment...... if we can address the D in FA, Corner, Safety OLB then use the draft for some flyers on offense

I pretty much agree with your assessments, so I'm not going to try and reinvent the wheel.  🙂

Since Free Agency is days away, and the draft is upcoming....Lets look at the Browns Depth Chart as it stands right now,   and then let's do a "needs" analysis.   Lets do it this way:  Do a 1-10 scale, one being low need, 10 being high need....for what the Browns should do in either FA or the draft:

So...1-10 say what our need is at these spots  (and feel free to suggest solutions to positions of greatest need)

                    Offense

QBs:  Kizer,  Hogan, Kessler:  Need: 8  (Many QBs in FA and the draft, perhaps someone already on the roster steps up in our new scheme, we should let Haley pick the QB to run his offense)

RBs: Duke Johnson,  Matthew Dayes, Marquez Williams  (Crowell...FA)    Need: 8 ( Saquon Barkley is the best offensive player in the draft. Duke and Dayes are support role players and not feature backs in the traditional sense IMO)

Fullback:  Dan Vitale.   Need: 4 (There are a couple good FBs in the draft this year that both bring a little something different to the table, mid to late rounds)

Center: JC Tretter,  Austin Reiter.   Need: 4  (not a tremendous need but Tretter could be replaced, similar situation as RT)

LG:   Bitonio, Chris Baker    Need: 1 (Bito is good for a while here, unless you're going BPA and adding depth, there are more pressing concerns)

RG: Zeitler, Geoff Gray, Joe Cheek  Need: 1 (Same as LG)

RT:  Sean Coleman, Zach Banner Need: 4 (Not saying Coleman isn't the answer but RT has been a swinging gate for some years, hope Coleman solidifies the position though.)

LT:  Joe Thomas (assuming he does not retire)  Drango, Rod Johnson   Need: 6 (Even healthy, Joe is on borrowed time, time to start preparing for father time)

TE: Njoku, Devalve, Telfer, Gavin Escobar   Need: 1 (Young and developing, this group is pretty good)

WR1: Gordon, Ricardo Louis, Kasen Williams  Need: 3 (Gordon is an All-Pro but behind him there's a oceanic drop off- The only reason this has a need rating at all is because we lose everything if we lose Gordon again. Equiminious St. Brown is a player that could develop into a top talent in time)

WR2:  Coleman, Higgins, Coates Need: 5 (All these guys are young like the rest of WR1's group. Great young WR group with lots of potential, you could actually be okay with these guys. There's 6 young and developing receivers adding a big playmaker here would round out a smooth 7)

                    Defense

DE1:  Garrett, Orchard, Colin Bevins  Need: 1   (We've got an early second rounder backing up a #1 Overall, if this isn't good for a 1, I don't know what is)

DE2: Ogbah,  Nassib,  Lavar Edwards (who is a FA and not expected back)   Need: 1 (I like both of these players a lot, early picks that are still filling out, patience)

DT1: Trevon Coley,  Ogunjobi  Need: 3 (Ogunjobi is going to make a huge leap this year, I've got a feeling. Coley did well)

DT2:  Shelton,  Brantley, Meder  Need: 2  (Shelton still hasn't peaked, Brantley was a steal in last years draft and has untapped potential, Meder's always solid.)

SLB: Jamie Collins, James Burgess, Jeremy Cash  Need: 1 (Jamie was the Browns' most feared player on defense before he was injured, it's a shame we never got to see Collins, Ogbah, Shelton, Ogunjobi and Garrett play much together, if at all because of injuries throughout the season. I expect this front seven to be dominant as is if healthy, depth is a concern but only marginally as we have some decent backups. Okay in a pinch but suspect with injuries at multiple spots at the same time, but the same could be said of any team)

MLB: Schobert, Tank Carder, BJ Bello, Max Bullough Need: 3 (This one is hard, Tank was the starter and injured before the season and Show earned a ProBowl. Tough to call a Need.)

WLB: Kirksey,  Dom. Alexander, Jack Keys Need: 2 (Leader of the defense and a homegrown talent, can't much put a need on his head either.)

LCB:  McCourty, Michael Jordan, CJ Smith Need: 6 (Starter's getting older, need a young guy to groom for the future, but for now McCourty balled out last year.)

RCB:  Jamar Taylor, Briean Boddy-Calhoun,  Howard Wilson  Need: 4 (I like these guys a lot, mostly the latter two but Taylor is a decent player)

S1:  Peppers, Kindred, Derron Smith  Need: 2 (Peppers and Kindred played different positions last year correct? With them listed together now, there is little need here.)

S2: Kai Nacua, Justin Currie  Need: 8 ... (Why has this position been so hard to fill for so long? Who was the last great player that we had at FS?)

                    Special Teams:

                    P  Colquitt

                    K Zane Gonzales

We are all set at QB and WR.

                      Shouldn't need to draft either.

We are all set at QB and WR.

                          Shouldn't need to draft either.

S2: Kai Nacua, Justin Currie  Need: 8 ... (Why has this position been so hard to fill for so long? Who was the last great player that we had at FS?)

Not sure about "great"   but both Tashaun Gipson and TJ Ward were Pro Bowlers if I recall.

Even with the Dawgs....it was the Cornerbacks Dixon and Minniefield who drove that bus. Who was the FS with that bunch?  Felix Wright?

You may have to go back to Thom Darden....FS  who is the all time Browns leader in Ints.

Good point.  Bito top notch when healthy...but as I noted....I am not sure we have a quality backup at either LG or RG....do we?
