Here's a nice article on Barkley, Penn State's Pro Day and becoming a Father. He's truly a rare prospect. Fingers crossed that Dorsey recognizes the importance.Ā

ĀSTATE COLLEGE ā Saquon Barkley is nervous about next monthās NFL Draft in Dallas ā about how heāll react when his name is called, whether heāll cry when he hugs his mother and, sure, which team selects him.
Thereās something else, too: whether he might be called home for the birth of his first child.
ĀLast weekend, Barkley and his girlfriend, Anna Congdon, announced on social media that they are expecting a baby. At Penn Stateās Pro Day in State College on Tuesday, Barkley said their baby is due April 14.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 26-28. So, what if
ĀBarkley paused and smiled before answering.
āWhat happens if the babyās delivered the same day as draft day? Thatās a great question,ā Barkley said. āThatās something that weāre actually worried about. But I can tell you that, if that is the case, Iām taking the first plane back to Scranton [where Congdon lives].ā
The announcement added another layer to an already fascinating story regarding the 21-year-old running back from Whitehall High. Barkleyās public stock skyrocketed after the recent NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, where he became one of the most-discussed players in the upcoming draft.
NFL scouts and analysts debate daily whether Barkley could be the overall No. 1 pick, whether Cleveland or the New York Giants or an under-the-radar team might select Barkley in the first round. Barkley could become the first running back selected No. 1 overall since Ki-Jana Carter, another former Penn State back, in 1995.
ĀMeanwhile, Barkley played last season, and spent the winter training, knowing that fatherhood awaited this spring. He had not spoken publicly before Tuesday about becoming a father, placing the focus squarely on football, but called the process a āblessing.ā
āNow youāre not just training for yourself and training trying to be great,ā Barkley said. āThis is how you provide for your family. You also have to look at football as a business. Obviously you want to play the sport and have fun with it, but now itās bigger than you. You have a family to provide for. As I said, Iām super excited. Everything Iām doing is obviously for myself and for my kid.ā
Barkley further talked about his father Alibay, who has been open about the ābad choicesā he made in New York when he was younger. Alibay Barkley had an admitted drug problem and served time in Rikers Island because of a gun charge that violated his probation at the time.
That prompted Tonya Johnson, Barkleyās mother, to moved the family from the Bronx to the Lehigh Valley. Last week, Barkleyās parents watched in Harrisburg as dozens of House representatives and staffers paraded through the Capitol to get a moment with the running back on āSaquon Barkley Dayā in Pennsylvania.
āThe thing Iām looking forward to most about being a dad is trying to be a great role model,ā Barkley said. āI know Iām going to make mistakes in my life and I know that my father made mistakes in his life. Iām looking forward to being open and honest about the mistakes that he made and the decisions he made.
ā⦠You have to respect him as a man. A lot of people canāt look their kids in the face and tell them the decisions that they made were awful and the mistakes they made were bad. That helped me. You guys every single day talk about how good I am, how good my character is. Thatās not because of me. Thatās because of my family. Itās my mom and my dad.ā
Barkley did not participate in drills at Penn Stateās Pro Day. He planned to, but because no NFL running backs coaches attended, opted out of running pass routes for the remaining personnel representing the leagueās 32 teams.
Barkley spoke informally with scouts from several teams and has visits planned for early next month. Heās also declared himself finished with combine training but will entertain private workouts from teams that request them.
On Monday, Penn State coach James Franklin said that, raves aside, he thought Barkley had a āvery averageā performance at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Barkley agreed, saying he expected to run a faster 40-yard dash, clear a higher vertical jump and perform more reps on the bench press.
Those days are behind him, though. āIām not a combine guy,ā Barkley said. āI want you to throw on the film and I want to show that Iām a football player.ā
On Saturday, Barkley will be in Coplay for a parade organized by the Borough Council and Whitehall High. Then heās off to his future.
āAprilās going to be a big month for me,ā Barkley said. āI tweeted out the other day that big blessings were coming my way. A lot of people thought I was just talking about the draft but I was not only talking about the draft but also my future kid. Iām truly excited.ā

That bolded statement is the very reason that The Incredible Saquon Barkley is #1.
His combine performance was very average?
One of the most dominant combine performances in recent memory was merely an average day for Barkley. If that is what you can expect on a day to day basis, what are you going to get from him when the game is on the line?Ā

Ahh, what happened to that perfect character? Child out of wedlock tsk ran.
While never done, in some states (maybe all) it is actually illegal to have relations outside of wedlock.

And I see recently you have now compared Saquon to Jim Brown.
Well let's compare:
Career RushingĀ
Jim Brown- 12,312 5.2 avg 106 TDSĀ
Saquon Barkley- 000000000000
Until proven otherwise please shut up about comparing your cousin to NFL greats.Ā
Until he has proven something, he is Curtis Ennis or Ki Jana Carter.
I think you made a mistake, it's not PoeticG, it's PatheticG

You don'tĀ bark? lol
Ā I wonder ifĀ Barkevious Mingo ever barked.
Whimpered, perhaps.Ā

Just to humor Po-Ā
Ā here'sĀ some actual Barkley news- wimpy excuse not to run another 40 at his pro day.... Resting on his combine numbers...Ā Ā Ā

It sure reads in my mind when saying he could have done better, and has before, that pressure and bright lights might have gotten to him. Not a good sign ?
-
Hmm, you must have missed this.
Yea, let's not answer ANY negative about Charles Barkley, let's try to change subject to make him look good.
Obviously you don't know much about football, but scoring 2 TD's doesn't matter (maybe it does in fantasy, which I presume is all you know) when the other team scores more. You see, the object is to win the game, not have amazing stats. But of course you don't like stats when they don't favor you. One great thing about a dominant running back is the ability to keep the chains and clock moving at the end of game to keep other team off the field. How did that work against Buckeyes?Ā
But go ahead and show another highlight film of Charles. We anticipate it PatheticG
-
Can you imagine if we everĀ picked a RB at #1 overall?Ā With all of the QB position problems we've had since our return?Ā The store with the names on the jersey...that was getting all the publicity from it...they took the shirt down because it's just too painful to Browns fans.Ā And some think we should just take the one that falls to us.
