And it happened like a week ago. He's inactive because he's on the non football injury list.

We should draft who ever falls into out lap, no way should we trade up. I start the season with Hoyer as #1, and go with whom ever we get in the draft as our backup.

thanks for the double threads. maybe start one again in march 2014.

@the-gipper said: I guess if we could get an Eric Steinbach type, a FA pickup that played well for us for several years, that would be fine. But here is the list of OF FAs that will be available at the end of the season. Do you see an Eric Steinbach in this group? (or a David Yankey?): Kevin Boothe, Giants (31) - Willie Colon, Jets ( 31) - Matt Slauson, Bears (27) - Wade Smith, Texans (32) - Chris Spencer, Titans (31) - Brian Waters, Cowboys (36) Except for Incognito.....who should have stayed In Cognito, there are no names you really recognize... I edited out all the ones I did not recognize and... plus Uncogtouchable. Added ages to those left. Boothe and Colon stand out to me. I was pissed when the 'Boys talked Waters out of retirement for only $1.5mm while we were struggling with Cousins. But he prolly doesn't come to us for twice the price. @shep said:Not sure I agree here. I don't think the Browns lack for individual talent on the OL and have committed a TON of resources to it over the past few years. Watch the line play... It's not simply a matter of opposing D's stacking the box against to stop our run. Does not seem to matter whether we zone or drive block, it is rare that at least one of our O-line is not defeated. Remained surprisingly true even after Cousins was mercifully returned to the bench.

Robertson wasn't awesome last year either. If he makes one play [regardless of how good the "make" is] and whiffs on seven others... that's not awesome, that's 0.125

@shep said:Just watched Alo's cut-up of Carr V. Wyoming at Draft Breakdown. Interesting site that I had not come across before.

@shep said: - Browns are #1 in the NFL in Defensive YPA at 6.0. It's one of the most important stats in football on both sides of the ball. It tells you what happens when a team passes in a passing league. - But what about expanding that to, "What happens when a team TRIES to pass?" Well, the Browns are 2nd in sacks with 31 (to KC). So either you get sacked or you pass unproductively when you play the Browns. POINT: The Browns can't do much better with their pass defense to create more wins. They're just about the best in the league. - The Browns are 4th in the league in Defensive YPC (in a cluster right near the top). Teams don't get much when they run on the Browns. OVERALL POINT: The Browns defense can't do a helluva lot better, this year or next, to affect the bottom line. That doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement, or for upgrading parts of the defense. Sure, maybe they will concentrate on offense in next years FA and draft periods, but getting even nastier on defense wouldn't hurt. I mean, what is wrong with trying to be the 1985 Bears or 2000 Ravens? Nothing at all. (but, yes, QB/RB could/should be priorities)

@shep said: Funny. Are you not a Johnny Cash lover? No...I'm not sure that I could like a player less than Johnny Cash. I don't like his attitude and I think he's too small and will flame out in the NFL.

@sisky-fringo said: with Haden no longer predictably lining up at LCB every snap and now following the opponents 1WR wherever they are the scheme requires his opposite to do the same. it's an advantage for Joe, who is athletically talented enough to play anywhere...guys like Chris Owens, Sheldon Brown, even blast from the past Leigh Bodden...all solid guys but only great on one side. when you have tendencies, you become predictable. when you become predictable your opponent can gain competitive advantage and exploit you. nowadays Joe knows who he's facing all year long, barring injury. he could study for his week 16 opponent today if he felt the need. it's an advantage for him, and an advantage for the Browns. but with that philosophy you need others capable of the same. with Buster, they just may have that. Perhaps a slight positive from him not having played college ball at all, if there are any.

I want to see a whole season of this new Buster skrine.

@reginabrownsfan said: So I had made a bet on the game yesterday with a co-worker who is a Bills fan. The loser had to wear the winner's jersey to work on Friday. Well today I cashed in. I sent this picture on him and I to my entire project encouraging them to congratulate him on the big Browns win yesterday and someone printed it and posted it on our front door. Winning this bet was better than winning money! lol. i had to shave my head, pay $100, and wear a michigan jersey on a lost bet on the steelers/cheifs monday night game last year with a michigan fan. wearing the michigan jersey was alot easier than giving up cash and shaving my head. i looked awful for 2 months.

@gftchris said:Or premature speculation? With TCPO it is often the same thing!

That one stat that is most important: Hoyer's winning percentage - 100!!!

That's my point: He's from Akron, he sits there watching the game... and the Browns beat the Bengals behind their new unlikely hero (Hoyer). The team is 2-2 in a winnable conference. Excitement is high. He's like 38, which is crazy for a CB... but he had 101 tackles and 12 PDs last year. He's a freak.

I'd take less than 150 from my people here... but not 50 each or anything like that.

Mangina may have tucked but Shurmur has a full blown vagina.... packed with sand
