    We know how college works.

    Look what happened to you.

Conservatives wouldn't qualify as being part of these so called disenfranchised or disadvantaged groups.

    Black and Latino Americans

    Indigenous Americans

    LBGTXYZ+

    Those with disabilities

    Women in male dominated fields

    Veterans

These mandates are aimed at benefiting the student, not the purveyors of opposing viewpoints.

Not even in your article does it even imply that it's similar to a DEI mandate. Just something you thought of to be cute.

Are you just not able to comprehend the connection or are you looking for the wording to literally be "this is DEI for conservatives" in the order?

What does the Trump admin mean by viewpoint diversity? Can we agree they mean conservatives?

Or are we doing the thing again where you redefine words and reject the basics building blocks of reality?

    lol

A liberal finger wagging about redefining words.

Staffing is ultimately based on needs of the students. If you want to liken mandating a school to provide staffing that ensures a student becomes well rounded rather than indoctrinated in order to receive funding as “conservative dei” knock yourself out, cuz that’s actually a good thing.

What you are unwittingly doing by calling it “dei for Conservatives” is giving DEI the bad name it deserves.

I don't care whether you think it is good or not (which, fyi, you calling it good gives DEI a good name, at least how you all interpret it... I'm very aware of the point I'm making).

It's mandating the hiring of conservatives and the admittance of conservative students. Do you disagree with that?

  • I heard about this on the radio and just read the article in the OP from Harvard’s paper. This is a weird fight for Trump to pick.

Ever since l’ve been alive universities tend to skew liberal, and there’s something to be said about picking your battles and maybe this isn’t the best battle to pick? The article makes it sound like squashing pro-Palestinian stuff is a big motivator for Trump, so l’m guessing some really powerful Jews have been in touch with him.

It seems evident to me that Trump is focusing on Harvard because things he didn’t like happened there and it’s Harvard, which is arguably the top of the American University food chain, so if he can get them to budge it may cause a ripple effect.

I get the approach but l’m not seeing the benefit. At the end of the day we need opposing view points. It’s actually healthy to hear and understand them.

And Harvard already has conservatives. They have a young republicans club (they approve Trump’s actions) and other conservative influences, but it’s safe to say they’re in the minority.

Harvard became Harvard for a reason by doing whatever it is for however long. You can’t even say the word “Hahhrvard” without holding your pinkie in the air like a douchebag.

If Trump is looking to grow the conservative base, focus on the campaign promises that benefit regular folks. What’s happening with the “no tax on tips” reform? THAT’s the kinda thing that will grow the conservative base.

Harvard has a $53B+ endowment.. Why are they receiving federal tax dollars? THAT resonates with Trump's base. It should resonate with every American tax payer. A large percentage of that huge endowment comes from offshore money.. A significant percentage of Harvard's student populace is, take a guess..

When one talks about the American educational system being more of a far left indoctrination system, Harvard would be 1A on that list..

    Revoke their tax exempt status

  • - most of Trump's base also doesn't understand why research exists or better their lives

    - most of Trump's base doesn't understand that taxes fund public services they use

    - does higher education indoctrinate folks to liberalism or are more educated people with more exposure to diversity more likely to hold liberal ideals?

    - if universities are losing tax exempt status then I image churches and other religious institutions are next, right?

I imagine Harvard gets federal tax dollars because that’s a thing we invest in here in America, we want the best and brightest.

I’m not aware of Harvard’s student populace, but if you are telling me that a significant portion of them are foreign born, then that’s great. We want the best and brightest from other nations too.

I don't care whether you think it is good or not (which, fyi, you calling it good gives DEI a good name, at least how you all interpret it... I'm very aware of the point I'm making).

yes, I disagree - it's mandating FAIRNESS and TALENT/ACHIEVEMENT is what needs to be the hiring standard. Harvard has VIOLATED THAT. Did you go to school in backwards land?

Only the churches that receive a $53 billion dollar endowment.

    Hahahaha

Ok so Cal is pro DEI. Good to know

    Mandating hiring of "diverse viewpoints"

Obviously you morons are never going to understand the blatant hypocrisy here, or at the very least you'll never admit it, but it's always fun watching you squirm

  • you lefties, woodpecker, LOVE reverse discrimination. THAT is what the Pres Trump admin is talking about. Reverse discrimination is WRONG. but it buys votes for the democommie party, so, you go with it.

But since then, nine states have also banned race-conscious admissions: Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire,

  • The fact you're even using the term "reverse discrimination" is hilarious. It lets anyone know where you're at.

And based on your other links, you're still not following along here. I can't make it any clearer. Oh well

Now that was funny… you think you make people squirm.

How can you say you’re having fun when you’re this angry?

  • If you have a problem with this maybe you ought to think about whether DEI was ever a good practice to begin with.

You're getting closer to the hypocrisy I'm pointing out that's getting completely ignored by some on here

  • woodpecker redefines "dei" as hiring/promotions based on being gay/trans/birdbrains regardless of ability or accomplishment.

just more perverted definitions from birdie:

What you're calling hypocrisy is just something the left created by ranking who should be hired in a heiarchy and putting the actual most desirable candidates at the bottom. I'm full time management now and I can tell you 100% that I'm not hiring a black, trans, neuroqueer leftist to represent my company to clients. It would not give any of them an ounce of confidence that we would accomplish the job we're being contracted for.
