Do you see a guy on the list above that is worthy of such a contract? By anybody?

I didn't say 1 guy. One guy isn't going to help that much, unless he's a coach or QB. For the Browns to get much better they will need 1 guy from each positon list you have. That will add up to big money

Well with a first and third round pick coming from the above list, a couple of slots should be filled. And with a FA or two you do the rest.

I think if we can get either a killer OLB we can perhaps live with the DEs we have. Or vice versa.

And I also think that we could live with the OGs we have.

The primary slots are that CB, and FS and either a DE or OLB.

    Three defenders. Need them.

  • That list doesn't look good. I'd rather draft a top-tier CB, and try to draft an quality 3rd round OLB. We really need a FS, so we might be able to get one of the guys on the list (Goldson, LaRon Landry, or Jarius Byrd).

Overall, I'd like to see Welker or Amendola to come in and fill a veteran need at WR, along with Goldson, Landry, or Byrd to fill in at FS. Then, draft CB Millner and maybe trade up for a guy like Chase Thomas. Use the rest of the picks on depth on o-line, secondary, TE, and maybe another FB.

  • Jammer

  • Jammer sucks... he's been run out of San Diego. We don't want him and he's old.

That's what they said about Woodson before coming to the Packers.

You can't compare woodson to jammer..

Woodson was a stud up to the final two years in oakland when he was injured.

Woodson was selected by the Oakland Raiders with the fourth pick in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft. In his first season with Oakland, Woodson was selected as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press. He was named to the Pro Bowl and earned All-Pro recognition three consecutive times (1999–2001). In a memorable 2002 AFC playoff match against the New England Patriots, Woodson seemed to have clinched the game by laying a hit on quarterback Tom Brady and forcing a fumble, but the ruling was controversially overturned. Woodson later battled several nagging injuries in consecutive seasons in Oakland, leading to his departure and becoming a free agent after the 2005 NFL season.[3]

Yea, but he is an Ohio guy that went to Michigan....so he sucks just for that....though maybe not for all the other things you mention.

    OLB Daryl Smith

    Saftey Jariuos Byrd

    CB Derek Cox

  • How is this for a plan:

If the Browns have the #4-5 overall pick, they trade it down to say 10-12 with the Arizona Cardinals who will be desperate for a QB. Only KC is more in need of one. The Browns get back at least the Cardinals #2 and #3 round picks which should be about #42 and #75

With 10-12 they pick Barkevious Mingo or Sam Montgomery to fill their OLB/DE need.

With #42 they take either David Amerson or Jordan Pryor at CB

With their own 3rd round pick they take OG Larry Warford.

With about #75 they take either of the FS Kenny Vaccaro or Tony Jefferson

Thus they have filled all their primary needs in the first 3 rounds of the draft.

This of course is predicated on the continued policy of not obtaining top FAs, but that is a big assumption.

Or...would all y'all just prefer to say "Take either Jarvis Jones or Dee Milliner and forget the trade?

Woodson is pretty much a butt ugly looking dude. But maybe a chick like you sees things from a different perspective.

It all sounds good, but haven't we learned, a young, inexperienced team, like the one we have now, isn't going to win many games?

They keep saying "Build through the draft" Well when you have 27 rookies or 2nd year players, and VERY few veterans + an aweful coach = 3-13.

Let's get some veterans, a better coach and see what we can do. Rookies are fine until you have to rely on them to play a lot. Holmgren NEEDED all these young guys, to justify his 5 year plan. Now that he's leaving, lets get some experience and winners here. And the young guys can learn from them

Well here is the key.. If the new owner goes the college route like chip kelly or someone with no NFL experience my quess is we will keep the young guys and not sign any veterans.

No i don't think we will. I am betting 7-9 next year but my prediction is tied to the coach they hire.

A young team with no veteran leadership and a college coach is NOT going to win 7 games.IMO

    Cornerbacks:

    Brent Grimes ATL: Will resign

    Sean Smith MIA: Will resign

Quentin Jammer SD: Over the hill

    Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie PHIL: Will resign

    Derek Cox JAX: Will resign

Aqib Talib NE: Based on how he's playing, i see him getting a longer term deal. He's a head case but his talent has never been a question and bellicheat has a way with those players.

    Safeties:

William Moore ATL: He may hit the market

Dashon Golsdon SF: Same as moore

LaRon Landry NYJ: You don't want him his play is no where what it used to be. He's a gym rat and that's about it.

Jarius Byrd BUFF: He's going to resign, vital to their operation

Louis Delmas DET: I expect him to also resign

    Linebackers:

Shaun Phillips SD OLB: No idea

Michael Johnson CIN: I expect him to resign

Glen Dorsey KC: High draft pick, can't exactly stay healthy and I don't see him helping

    Offensive Guards:

    Brandon Moore NYJ: No idea

    Dwayne Bowe KC: He'll resign

    Wes Welker NE: Resign

    Danny Amendola STL: resign

    Kevin Ogletree DAL: no idea

Are any of these guys worth considering for the Browns future?

All speculation on my part but most of the guys you mentioned likely aren't going to hit the market. I obviously added my portion to all the above players.
