So, narrow it down to possible? Browns picks:

      1 Teddy BridgewaterQB 1 Louisville Jr 6-3,205

      3 Anthony Barr OLB 1 UCLA Sr 6-4 248 1

      5 Sammy Watkins WR 1 Clemson Jr 6-1 205 1

      6 Khalil Mack OLB 2 Buffalo rSr 6-3 248 1

      8 Mike Evans WR 2 Texas A&M rSo 6-5 225

10 Derek Carr QB 2 Fresno State rSr 6-3 215

      12 Johnny Manziel QB 3 Texas A&M rSo 5-11 210

      14 C.J. Mosley OLB 3 Alabama Sr 6-2 232 1

The ones in red are where I wouldn't mind seeing them go, though I am not sure about the CB.

They have Shazier listed as an OLB....but he has played primarily inside all year long.

Knowing Lombardi, he will probably draft some guy that is projected to be a 4th-5th rounder in the Top Ten just to try to prove how smart he is.....that he knows more than everyone else. (and yet that pick will be come a complete bust....like so many of his in history)

I'll puke if Manziel gets picked that high.

Right now the Browns would be slated into the 22d or 23rd slot with the Colts pick. It is possible that the likes of Lee, Yanke, Shazier could be gone. Where do you go then?

BPA. If it ends up being a TE then fine, another receiver is something we're lacking. If it's a pass rusher, fine. If it's a tackle, fine.

Schwartz has had good days, and bad days. He isn't

a Joe Thomas. He has the feet, and can get the strength. I wonder

if he has been playing banged up...

He has shoved back to the qb...but a -smart- qb would see the field, and make a decision,

and get rid of the ball. So, a bad qb will make the line look a lot worse than it is, relating

a bit to what Shep has said about it. Without Hoyer in there, that is the case, more than anything else. But Lauvao... he isn't agile enough to be a good pass defender, regardless of who the qb is.

Referring to Gip's question - here's the next set of the list, which again, is just a list

for the sake of discussion. Nobody is going to think this IS the list:

For that second first, with the players the Browns would want to pick.. gone,

they would "reach" for another player they know will be a great fit, and

the second round pick would probly also be from this list. Maybe.

                      26 Justin Gilbert CB 3 Oklahoma State Sr 6-0 200 1-2

                      28 Cedric Ogbuehi OT 5 Texas A&M rJr 6-5 300 1-2

I think The Schwartz will be OK. He has had somewhat of a sophomore slump, but that position is one of the least of our worries. Obviously QB/RB/OG/ILB maybe WR are more priority.

One other concern to think about: Who might the Browns lose in FA? According to USA Today sports the Browns don't have a single FA coming up this offseason. I find that a bit hard to believe.

Does anyone know differently? I though both Mack and Ward were potentially up.

It would be hell to try to replace those guys in the draft with all the Browns other concerns.

                              Standing pat:

I'd like Derek Carr (1a) & Eric Ebron or Davonte Adams (1b)

(Or even better Jace Amaro or Marquise Lee if our Colts pick was a little higher than I'm thinking)

Yep, Ward & Mack are FAs at the end of this year, along with some other scrubs. Since they were both draft picks, maybe they're ERFA? Not sure how that all works.

Yep, Ward & Mack are FAs at the end of this year, along with some other scrubs. Since they were both draft picks, maybe they're ERFA? Not sure how that all works.

Ward & Mack will be unrestricted FAs, so we will re-sign one, and possible franchise the other... I could see re-signing Ward and tagging Mack for one year.

Robertson is also a FA, but he is a ERFA meaning we can offer him a veteran minimum and he can either accept it or retire...

The rest of our FAs can leave resulting in no additional holes on our roster b/c none of them are irreplaceable. Biggest one is maybe Lauvao, but not really concerned with him leaving as he needs upgraded anyway.
