Seriously....Why? Insider info is all welcome!
  • I like to look at a QB like Troy Aikman when talking QBs and winning. Aikman starts career with a crap line, and limited weapons (Irvin) team stinks. Aikman gets an incredible O-line, Smith, Johnston, etc. team wins like crazy. Aikman's team gets old and broken down team stinks. All equals Hall of Fame.

  • I think we should take a good long look at Mallett....seriously. maybe give em like a 2nd and 4th for him and we could draft another guy late.

What has Mallet ever done do warrant a 2nd OR a 4th? What evidence is there of him being any good? If he is so good, then do you really think an organization like the Patriots are going to dump him when Brady is just a couple years from retiring?

I watched him play in college. He was a first round talent with a huge arm that had an incident and dropped. He only has one year left on his contract so New England will want to trade him before they lose him for nothing. I highly doubt he resigns with them because He'll be 29-30 when Brady retires. I was guesstimating the picks it would take.

Not trying to be a jerk but are you seriously basing the possible future of the Browns on how a kid played in college? The Browns have already bet on those stats for the last 14 years.
  • For all you Carr lovers.

Manziel's completion percentage on throws of 6 yards or more is 65%

    Carr's is 54%

Manziel plays against MUCH better competition.

As if facts matter when frantic fans whipped to a frenzy by "experts" go on a QB hunt with their blood up.

    You're being modest... it's at least 90%... 😉

  • It's almost impossible to overrate the impact of a quarterback on today's NFL, much by design and rules changes.

With Aaron Rodgers, Super Bowl contenders. Without? Worse than the Browns. With Manning or Luck, Super Bowl contenders. Without either? Worse than the Browns. With Stafford? Playoffs. Without? Garbage. Before Russell Wilson, great defense and a shot at the 6th seed! With him, best team in the NFL.

Eagles before Foles, Dream Team Losers. With him? 8-5 and hot as hell. Goes on and on. It's undeniable.

Yet it doesn't really work the other way. No matter who plays on defense, or even receiver, Brady and Manning just keep winning.

  • There's no denying Brady, Manning or Rodgers but other than that I wouldn't say that any one QB is better than the next as far as being able to win until you get to the twentyish range if u rank em. Ask Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Pig Pen, Rivers etc.. how much a supporting cast matter. So unless you're lucky enough to tab an all time great, I'd say its obvious you can win with competent QB play and a great team around em.

True, but it is still possible to overrate prospects... especially if you conflate the two.
