Luckily, Farmer gets to make the decision and not you.

People are harping on the wrong stuff. Manziel has the talent to be a good NFL QB. That's something Cleveland hasn't had in forever.

But let's draft Derek Carr or Garoppolo instead -- lol. That logic will continue to see this team in the basement of the AFCN.

Farmer needa to play his draft board the way he has the players ranked for the most part. If Manziel is #20 on your board picking him at 4 would be a bad move in my opinion. If he was ranked something like 6 or 7 on your board then drafting him a few slots early isnt that a big a deal.

  • Who would you rather have woody? Teddy spaghetti, the noodle man who can't throw a spiral or hit his own receiver when no one is playing defense? No thanks.

So you are on record is claiming Johnny football (should we draft him) will be the best quarterback since the Browns returned to the league.

Further that if we don't take him we will be relegated to the cellar for many more years.

    Strong words Mike.

It's pretty sad that "good NFL QB" means "best quarterback since the Browns returned to the league".

I love how polarizing Johnny Douchebag is. You either love him, or hate him.

More of us hate him, but those that love him are louder about it.

    He is Hillary Clinton

So does that make Brandon Weeden Sarah Palin ......always screwing things up ? 🙂

I don't want any QB at 4. But yeah, I'd rather have Teddy than Johnny Douchebag.

if the bar is Couch/Holcomb/Anderson...it's sad but true.

i'd be ok w JF at 26. or BB. or DC. but none at 4.

anyone ie evans/gilbert/robinson/mathews > the QBs.

  • not in recent history will there be sooooo many people to each soooo much shit when all the dust has cleared although it might take a couple of years. (either pro or con JF).

the guy isn't even on a team yet (let alone the browns) and everyone is ready to kill each other.

it must be the '666' tattooed underneath his hairline.

  • This time next week, most of us will finally be able to discuss who we picked, while a few of us will still complain about Johnny Scramble. At least it will finally be over one way or the other. I don't want JS, but if we pick him I hope he succeeds because I hate saying I told you so (but will).

  • @mike-h said:

People read what they want to apparently.

I think he's a lot better than most here want to give him credit for, for whatever motive.

I like Blake B and Manziel, I'm pretty sure that's understood by now.

I don't see how else I could have read it. But I'm not picking on you sir. Just getting your take. There must have been some thing recently to change your mind since, if I'm not mistaken you started out in the Bridgewater camp.

  • If we take Manziel it will make it almost impossible for Hoyer to be the starter... While many of us would understand the concept of sitting Manziel for a year - I can't say the same for Joe Blow casual fan.

That said... if we take a QB at #4 I think you need to start him regardless of who it is (Bortles, Manziel, Carr, etc) out of principle. Otherwise it is a waste of a pick on an immediate starter.

  • If we see Manziel get picked at #4, it is going to be because Haslam does what he has promised not to do and that is pull rank on the guy he hired to run the team.

which is why they shouldn't take a QB at 4....none of them are ready to play outta the gate, if one feels they should start outta principle (which I highly disagree with).

I disagree with that fully. There is no head coach who has ever preferred to start a rookie QB, regardless of draft position. Play the best option on the roster. If thats Hoyer, so be it. Ignore the pressure to play him, and focus on getting him ready to play.
  • I think a QB should be taken with the 2nd 1st rounder whether it's 26 or we trade up. I like Mike Evans, Khalil Mack, Watkins, and of course if we took Teddy I would not be that mad.

  • I'm going to cheer for every single freakin draft pick Farmer and Pettine and co. make.

At least for the first 3 or 4 rounds...

Btw, I'll bet I can't take my newly found FROSTIE ROOTBEER (Thanks to Canton Mike for the info)...

    into the draft party.

Well, I'm just going to call them tomorrow about having at least some kind of root beer at the

draft party, because Canton Mike is holding me to my promise about putting some of his beer

in my rootbeer and drinking it all.

Yeah, he runs around and buys time. Yeah, he has "moxy" (he's an arrogant prick). What else exactly?

I think the fact that he finds ways to win football games. I see why people like him, I am on the fence about him. I think he will either be a big time bust or big time star, wont be any middle ground with him.

If he's available. On his twitter.

Good Lord, my fingers are crossed.

Gee, you're behind the times WW- They've only had Johnny Scramble going to the Browns for the last 10 days or so. And if it makes you feel even better, so has Walter Football. Better put on one of those man-diapers Thursday so you don't make a mess when you cream your pants should the Browns actually take him.

    @mike-h said:

Get ready for two years at least of nothing but Manziel talk.

That will be regardless of which team takes him Mike. It's one of the reasons I don't want the Johnny Circus in Cleveland- gonna be one huge distraction. LOL, you actually think Manziel is going to tell ESPN and NFLN to get lost?

Yup, I understand why people like him- and real easy to see why a bunch of people don't.

I iz in the process of composing a song Steve. the young 'uns won't remember Shelly Fabares 1962 #1 hit "Johnny Angel" but you certainly do. To the tune of that- "Johnny Football, how I hate you, It's your antics that I just don't trust. And you're going to be a big time bust."

You'll see the Manziel humpers screaming for JF the first time Hoyer throws a pick.

That was a good old song.

I heard that Johnny Football was going to refuse to sign with the Browns if they drafted him,

until he found out about Racino.... 🙂

  • Any rookie QB we take shouldn't be the starter immediately. Let him sit and learn first. You don't want to put him out there too early and break him.
