I don't understand what amazing talent people see in Johnny Douchebag. What have you seen on the field that is just so much better than other QBs?/
Yeah, he runs around and buys time. Yeah, he has "moxy" (he's an arrogant prick). What else exactly?
Mike Evans made JF

On a related subject, what time does everyone plan to start drinking on Thursday?
I'm off on Friday, so I plan on breaking the seal on a bottle of Myers' rum no later than 5:15pm.
I realize I'll be getting a late start (yes Mik, I'm looking at you) so I'll have to supplement my
alcohol intake with various natural substances to get the proper party face in place for the draft.
Our pick should come up at 9:00 and I'll be looking forward to many a drunken rant from my
fellow Browns board members. Cheers, everyone!

I have some Breckenridge Vanilla Porter and Boulder Choc Shake Porter chilling for Thursday .....Friday will get something else .....

meyers' is my fave dark rum. quite a bite to it. but not as bad as some of the other's like gosling and appleton.
i think i'm going to start with a couple of cold ones in late afternoon and break out the stoli around 7 and have a couple of pops. don't want to be shit-faced when they call out manziel at pick 4. i want to know exactly what i was doing and where i was at when that little shit burger event changes the face of browns football to a three ring circus.

Um.... I said Manziel has the ability to be a good NFL QB, and the Browns haven't had one of those in 'forever' -- hyperbole, sorry. So nowhere did I say anything close to what you thought.
And yes, I think if they draft Derek Carr or Garoppolo, they are making a mistake and it would lead to more poor finishes in the AFCN.
I'm not calling you on hyperbole. As a matter of fact I only specified the years since the team has returned.
Anyway we will find out in a couple days and for sure in a year or two when hundreds of people who get paid huge amounts of money will have either guessed correctly or look like chumps.

Who did Calvin Johnson make?
No one cuz he was in GT's offense, lol. Though he still produced.
The "Mike Evans made JF" thing is pretty much tongue in cheek. But if you watch some highlight/film on JF, you see Evans coming down with great catches in coverage that JF just threw up for grabs. He helped make him look better.

isnt that his job? If you watch film instead of highlights you'd know those balls he "threw up for grabs" mostly came on third and longs, and he was punting if he didnt make a play. Is it a bad thing that he took advantage of his 6'5 reciever? Hes pretty smart with the football. No one cuz he was in GT's offense, lol. Though he still produced.

I love how polarizing Johnny Douchebag is. You either love him, or hate him.
More of us hate him, but those that love him are louder about it.
He is Hillary Clinton
He is Hillary Clinton
I guess that means the Browns get Johnny Football, and we all get Hillary for President then.
So it is written, so it shall be: Ramses, Pharoah of Egypt.

Right now? Obviously Gordon.
Pretty sure the point here was that if Mike Evans can make Johnny Football look as good as he does, Gordon can make him look just as good, if not better.
I'm not worried about "Mike Evans made JF" when we have guys like Gordon and Cameron on the roster. I'm more worried about whether or not JF can dial back the scrambling and trying to fight for extra yards while still keeping the intensity and leadership on the field.

Blah Blah Blah, that's the most chicken shit tip toe on eggshell pussy nonsense I've ever heard.
signed,
Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan, Andy Dalton, Cam Newton, Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger, etc.
You start the best QB on the roster, regardless if it's a rookie or not.
Yes, and there is a list of QBs that sat originally and then played very well. There is also a list of QBs that started immediately and failed.
I don't believe the best QB on the roster come week one will be the rookie. I also think you risk messing the guy up if you start him too soon.

I would be so pissed at 4.

Paul Johnson didn't introduce the triple option at GT until 2008, Megatron was drafted in 2007. GT has still produced a few WR prospects with the triple option though in Demarius (sp) Thomas and Stephan Hill. You need a big, fast (aka prototype) WR when you do decide to toss the ball down field.

No that's not the major question about JF. NFL defenses are great at taking away what you do best. Example: when the defenses took away Derek Anderson's ability to beat them deep, he was toast. You can bet serious money teams will set up outside contain to keep Johnny Scramble in the pocket, to see if he he can go through his progressions and beat them that way. Although the point has already been made- JF won't be able to get away with chucking the ball up into triple coverage jump ball situations in the big boy league- those Evans miracles will nine times out of ten be interceptions in the NFL.

Yup, Couch & Carr were ruined when the team wasn't ready.

Yeah, there have been some WRs that came from the triple option.
I'm not saying all great WRs are made by QBs or all good QBs are made by WRs or anything. I just think JF really benefitted from Mike Evans to the point it detracts from JF some.

If M. Vick could be contain in the NFL, JF will certainly be too.
The odds are stacked against JF like it or not. He's not NFL ready like A. Luck and being drafted at 4 would require him to START right away.
Why do we have to draft a QB THIS Year? The notion that we must have a complete team AFTER this draft is pure bullchit. A superbowl team take time to build.

And the Browns Super Bowl competition loaded up- all in. The Broncos and Pats spent like crazy bringing in top FAs. Do we mesure up to those guys yet?

Nope. Not a chance.
But then it brings up the question, if we can get a rookie QB some experience this year and he plays pretty well, wouldn't we be set up great for next year? (Yeah, I know it's Cleveland's motto...)
With Denver and NE being full of older vets now, and with Seattle potentially losing significant impact players due to all of their experiring rookie contracts, 2016 is looking a little better than 2015, right?
