Stockton Shorts Discusses Brian Hoyer
-
It's not as if our staff does not get to compare our QB options week in and week out.
Then certain folks are incredulous when they opt for the guy who's leading the team and has command of the playbook over the one who Tweets out his phone number...
Our staff has the same blindness in their eyes as you do "Ohhh we could make the Playoffs....."
The minute thats over, Hoyer is over.
Youre too small time to understand big pictures. Yes, Pettine too. He's a high school coach learning on the job right now.
You only have the ability to live in the immediate and don't understand context of future. Like a dog.
Like a dog with his tail wagging loving being in the car without the ability to understand he's on his way to the vet to be put down.
You have no concept of the big picture. I know, we're 4-3 and I know that means we're WAY better then we've been recently, but this team is not a playoff team, isn't playing like a playoff team and the farther you go down the fantasy road of the playoffs the more you damage the big picture.
We chased the playoffs in 2007 with Anderson, did that help us for the future? Or did we stick with DA a year longer then we should because we didn't pay attention to the big picture and found out Quinn was crap a year too late?
I've said it over and over, when I talk about Hoyer, history will be kind to me. Remember when I told you you were all idiots for thinking he was the next Kurt Warner? Well don't see a lot of that anymore do we. History has been kind to me for saying Hoyer isn't the next Warner. It will be kind to me again saying this team isn't a playoff team and the Browns are only wasting their time and hurting the big picture.
Your brain isn't big enough to understand. So I don't blame you Tour. Go back to licking your balls and I'll take you out to shit later.
So big picture is start Manziel now?Our staff has the same blindness in their eyes as you do "Ohhh we could make the Playoffs....."

So we shouldn't win unless Manziels playing. And everybody who disagrees is an idiot. Got it.

Retard daddy must be Stuckin Shorts, cause the best part of Stockton must have ran down his daddies leg and got stuck in his shorts. What an obnoxious, self centered, egotistical, ill mannered, pessimistic dolt.

History will be kind to your statement, Darkside.

FWIW, take out the Jacksonville game and Hoyer's stats this season are:
61.6 % comp, 8 TD, 1 INT, 0 fumbles, 250 ypg (and team +7 turnover margin)
editorial note - "quarterback rating" is a joint CIA-communist plot.
The 2nd Steeler game hurts, too, but the Browns could run the single wing with the QB lead blocking the whole game, complete 0 passes, and quick kicks on third downs, and if it's Browns 31, Steelers 10, it's all good. (Basically the same argument as "Hoyer's 7-3, all other QBs since '99 are 74-161" - which shouldn't automatically mean, "Hoyer's the man for the next 5 years! Sign him for $80 million!" but I'm happy with, "let's see if it keeps going.")
About every NFL team can make the same argument, but the Browns could be anywhere from 6-1 to 2-5. Pittsburgh week 1 and vs. Baltimore were more on the defense than Hoyer, so with that spin, Hoyer was crap vs. Jacksonville and done enough to win the other six games.
Specifically, if we're 6-3 and 1st in the division after Thursday, who thinks we should make a switch at that point? So hum the Brian Hoyer/Hallelujah song and just watch the fucking games for at least the next two games.

As bad as Hoyer has been on thrid down, Johnny is still his back-up.
What does that say about Johnny?

Only Stocky is allowed to cherry-pick his data...

It's not what it says about JM. It's what it says about you insisting to bring performance into a conversation that is really about "vision"...

Most Browns fans are tired of rebuilding. It's always "wait until next year....". The Browns are finally in a position to win NOW. Why push the reset button yet again with a new starting QB? They had a QB competition and Hoyer won, Hoyer puts the Browns in the best position to win RIGHT NOW instead of waiting for next year.
Remember all the other rookie QBs the Browns drafted that were supposed to save the team? It's refreshing to actually have a rookie learn before throwing him in the AFC north and hoping for the best. It'd be one thing if Johnny lit it up during preseason and was shown to be NFL ready, but he hasn't. Even in the few "Johnny packages" the Browns ran with him he didn't do anything spectacular that screamed FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK. Relax, let him learn under Hoyer, enjoy the wins and let's not ruin another QB.

jerry jones will be calling soon when he realized weeden is a dolt with a strong arm and romo's days are numbered.

+1 on that.
For a long time, all people talked about was how we ruined Couch, McCoy & Weeden by rushing them in before they were ready and playing them before we had the right talent around them.
But, NOW, we're hearing how we should rush JFF in, so he can learn under fire. Makes zero sense. It's just more stupid shit swirling around and around the bowl.

Did Brian Hoyer just get criticized on Tailgate for NOT going to the Cavs game Thursday?!? Some people really need to get a grasp on reality.
-
Hoyer had a good game. Demonstrated his mobility, One bad throw to benji early that was incomplete, the first pick was flat out bad, and the 2nd pick was more or less a bad play call by shanny - but not a bad throw.
-
Keep wagging your tails in the car.
This is not a playoff team, Browns are wasting their time.
Hoyer struggles with a TB secondary that gave up what 5 TDs to Flacco in the first half? Atlanta dropped 59 on them? Browns need missed FG, Blocked FG, Blocked Punt, INT in the endzone to hold on to beat TB.
The fact you see today as a positive only shows how small you think.
