Jadaveon Clowney out 9 months.

The Browns Board

  • They made the pick knowing it could be an issue down the road. Draft is a crap shoot.

  • Skip Bayless is a moron who always used to argue that RG3 is better than Andrew Luck.

  • well skip being the puss that he is said JF should've started from the beginning of the season, saying if they had they'd be cemented in a playoff spot. yet when told that hoyer blows and the browns are looking to change it up skip bayless says i don't like it, they're throwing him in at a bad time blah blah blah.........

tell me when is a good time to throw in a rookie QB? first game? game #7? i mean, you can't have it both ways.

  • Next year Clowney and Watt will be one of the most ridiculous defensive tandems in the game....in a few years they will be thought of as possibly the most dominant defensive pair in history. Mark it.

six pack says clowney is out half the year next year, if not more.

  • Nah...I will say though that he wouldn't have fit in Cleveland. Would rather we took Mack tbh if we went defense. I can't believe Mack, who was projected as a 3-4 OLB'er or 4-3 DE, is playing 4-3 OLB'er....and beasting. Means he could have easily performed all the coverage duties expected out of him as a 3-4 ILB'er and probably still be a better run stopper than anyone we currently have. That one actually irritates me more than not taking a WR'er cause I'm a defense guy. I have zero doubt that mack would have been team cpt in 2-3 years and be one of the best 3-4 ILB'ers since Ray Lewis. He's being completely underutilized as a 4-3 OLB'er, but I suspect Oakland is grooming him to be the Mike in a few years.

  • Skip Bayless looks like Earnest Angley's Retarded nephew and is a Brandon Weeden apologist.

Thank God that creepy little eunuch didn't reproduce.

Did they recently ask him? I know last week he didnt want Johnny to start. Doesnt like the situation he is being thrown into. I do understand his point. Skip also knows if Johnny has any blemishes, Stephen A will give him hell, lol

Skip also thought Tebow was great.

  • I'm sure the biggest hope for the Texans is that this year humbled him a lot. The number 1 pick this year was a tough call and I completely understand why they went with Clowney.

  • Jake Matthews should have been #1

  • Clowney needs to have surgery on his labia. He will NEVER be a factor for the Texans.

  • You think the Texans would still have drafted him?

Texans LB Jadeveon Clowney underwent microfracture knee surgery on Monday and is expected to be sidelined nine months, per sources.

    Hell no!

They were dumb to draft him the first time.

Microfracture surgery?.......he's done.....I give him 2 or 3 injury riddled years and then he'll be out of the league....

Final career tally will be something like 4 seasons.....30 games played.....45 tackles.....and 3 sacks.....

  • @everlastingxxx said:

Isnt it a degenerative type knee surgery? I know Anthony Spencer of the Cowboys had it done, missed almost 2 seasons and he is now a shell of his former self. Could be career ending. Texans didnt do their due diligence? I didnt like the pick, i would have drafted Manziel #1. Texans are fuckin idiots.

Sure is, Courtney Brown, Greg Oden in the NBA. Not positive, but think Kellen Winslow Jr. Not good.

And Courtney Brown was a MUCH better prospect....and player....than Clowney.....stat wise, they're not even close....

I think Brown would have been great, if not for all the injuries. It seems like the physical freaks always come apart at the seams....

Like the human body cant take the extreme strength, speed, etc...the frame, ligaments, tendons, binding materials are just too weak....cant contain the explosiveness ....and then break up....

  • Just because I cant stand Clowney...and am tired of hearing how he's a freak and the "first" guy ever like this...blah blah blah....a total media creation. ...dude doesnt even like football.....so, I got the numbers for anyone that doesnt remember our own Courtney Brown....who was a Jadevion Clowney who could ACTUALLY play....til he broke....here are their predraft/pro day #....and remember, they are all saying there has NEVER been a guy like JC.......

    Clowney:

    • 6'- 6" 266 lbs
    • 37.5 vertical leap
    • 4.53 sec - 40 yds
    • Bench 225# x 21 reps
    • 3 yrs college : 130 tackles, 47 TFL, 24 sacks

    Brown:

    • 6'-5" 270 lbs
    • 37" vertical leap
    • 4.52 sec - 40 yds
    • Bench 225# x 26 reps
    • 3 yrs college : 191 tackles, 70 TFL(NCAA record), 33 sacks(NCAA record)

So...technically....Brown was STRONGER.....and Brown was FASTER....and Brown slayed him stat wise....

Imagine what the media would create if Brown came along today....so to clarify, Clowney aint a "once in a lifetime prospect"....he was here just a few years ago.....

  • called it from day one.

where's all the "we shoulda drafted watkins" guys who also wanted clowney?

step up to the plate now you little fudges.

hope you're not talking about me cause I wanted Mack even if Clowney was available....and mostly because we already have a lot of money tied up at OLB'er. If we didn't have either Sheard or Kruger, yeah I would probably have been quite fine with taking CLowney if he was there, even with this injury. He's still going to be an unblockable freak when he's 100% healthy. I reject all comparisons to Courtney Brown....there's no comparison between the two's skillset. And if CLowney would have been in Cleveland he probably would be playing still cause First Energy is a professional stadium that takes it's field conditions seriously. NRG is a covered stadium and it still has some of the worst turf problems in the NFL. Apparently the field is contructed of pallets of turf, like 1500 of em or something like that. So there's seams between all those pallets. I don't know if Clowney stepped into a seam or whatever but look up NRG turf issues. Why a stadium that literally overlooks lake erie has better turf throughout the cold season than a stadium in freekin Texas is beyond me.

    Clowney will be fine.

i was kinda thinking you and a couple other people but i'm not here to rub one's nose in shit. i know you're just as passionate as me as a brown's fan and i respect that.

i agree with you on mack. i also agree with people on evans. BUT i think farmer did the right thing drafting gilbert. another CB to compliment haden was necessary. who knew that skrine would step up like he did as well as some UDFA? farmer and pettine are defensive minded guys. farmer is also a former DB so when haden said he liked gilbert out of all the DBs in the draft i knew if farmer was serious about helping that part of the team out he would make a move.....and he did. would i have liked to seen them somehow pull out an evans and gilbert deal? hell yeah. but that would've have cost us the entire draft thereafter and the guy starting at QB sunday would prob be playing for minnesota.

will clowney be alright? doubt it. the stats are stacked against him with that type of surgery.
