Jameis Winston declares.

Locked The Browns Board

  • does anyone have ANY faith that Winston would be a more studious rookie than Manziel? Not gonna happen. I'd rather give JM one more year to prove himself than to go through this again with Winston. Manziel has "problems"....with Winston you have serious concerns whether he's a good dude. I think Manziel is a good dude who has the potential to turn into something. Winston gives me the pre Fed Pen Vick vibes. It took federal pound me in the ass penitentiary for Vick to turn it around....you think a stint in Browns training camp is gonna turn Winston around?

It's not that I have more faith in Winston being better off the field. It's that I have more faith in Winston being better on the field.

Winston's ceiling is about 7 inches higher than Manziel's.

Yeah but he's not gonna stay on the field that's the point. Dude has shown every red flag "and then some". That little act he put on in the student commissary clearly shows he feels he's above everything and can do what he wants when he wants....that and the "these are my crab legs nigga" incident pretty say all you needed to know about him and we're not even broaching the rapey stuff yet.

  • I'm not the least bit concerned with the "fuck her right in the pussy" incident. You can go to YouTube and find literally hundreds of people saying the exact same thing over a live news broadcast. Who hasn't yelled out something vulgar whilst with college buddies? The rape and theft in the other hand....that's some serious shit.

I get that. What I'm saying is that we're taking the same risk with Manziel as we are with Winston. So, if we have to have an off-the-field concern at QB, I'd rather it be the 6'5", 230 pocket passer who has all of the potential in the world, as well as the production to prove it.

I can't believe that I'm saying this...but Cleveland may the place to provide structure for that idiot. Especially if we dump both Gordon and Manziel. It shows that Pettine and Farmer will cut anyone, regardless of their star status.

Honestly, if it were me, I'd package Manziel and Gordon for whatever I could, then use whatever ammunition available (as long as it's less than 3 first round picks) to move up and take Winston at #2.

-If we keep Manziel, we're already going into the season with a question mark at QB.

-If they've decided to dump Manziel then, at this point, we're still going into the season with a question mark at QB.

-The only way we don't go into the season with a question mark at QB is if we decide to keep Hoyer...and then we're going into the season with essentially just a game manager while full-on admitting that we're drafting a QB in 2016.

So, fuck it. Go for the big idiot. At this point, why the hell not?

  • Bottom Line: If Winston were available when it was Browns turn to draft......I would take him.

  • If the Browns were smart they would take this kid. He is smart, already reads defenses, he is a leader, and he has everything you want in a QB.

  • If the Browns were smart they would take this kid. He is smart, already reads defenses, he is a leader, and he has everything you want in a QB.

They draft 12th. They won't get a chance to get him. Of the 11 teams that draft before them like 8-9 need a QB.

    Have two picks trade up.

    12 and 19 wouldn't do it I don't believe.

This is that age-old question, though.

If, as you say, you would take him at 12, do you believe that he is franchise QB material?

Then, if you do believe he has franchise potential, where do you draw the line on trading up to get him?

If a franchise QB can really change a franchise by himself, wouldn't you do anything to get him?

These are all hypothetical. I am in no way saying that Winston is a franchise-changing quarterback. My questions are purely based on thought processes.

  • I would also like to point out that the first mention of Jameis Winston on TheBrownsBoard was from yours truly:

Richardson wasn't leading Cleveland to the playoffs any time soon. No runningback will be leading their team to the playoffs any time soon.

Adrian Peterson had an absolutely stellar season, where exactly did the Vikings end up?

If they use that draft pick and get a fantastic #2 CB or a wideout to pair with Gordon, this trade will have been great for us.

If they package two first round picks to move up two spots and take a QB, this trade will have been awful.
We should be picking top 3 next year. There are, at this point, two very solid college QB's (Boyd, Bridgewater) and a beast DE (Clowney) that will be in the 2014 draft. There may also be a couple other good QB's available as well (Manziel, Hundley).

If we can't get a QB in that scenario, it's time to finally give up. Move the team to France and become the Baguettes.

Or we just trade back again and again and again and play for Jameis Winston, whenever he decides to come out. Could be three years from now.

Also, check out that bolded text.
I'll continue in my role as the most forward-thinker on this forum.

Here's hoping that MKC is the first to go.

The team that does draft him will still need a QB.

    GO BROWNS !

  • Cleveland would have to give up both #1's and next years for Tampa's pick.

Don't see 11-5 in 2015 with the current roster and Winston

For a criminal rapist scumbag? No thanks.

+1. Id rather continue to have losing seasons than have a piece of shit leading my team.

I'd take jameis winston. It cannot be worse than what we're facing now.

oh yes it can. Winston makes Manziel look like a Viennese choir boy.

The difference is he also makes manziel look like the equipment manager. Because jameis can play.

we already have a piece of shit that will lead this team next season, might as well get a bigger piece of shit to lead us. Anyway not going to happen, the bounty will be too high to get to #1 unless JFF + Gordon + 2 #1's = this years #1.
