That is another Greg Lloyd right? Not the former Steeler LB?
That is another Greg Lloyd right? Not the former Steeler LB?
It's actually Greg Lloyd, Jr. - the son of former Steeler LB Greg Lloyd.

I guess since they have had the most players in the NFL and the HOF, somebody should do a USC roster:
QB - Bill Nelsen (1 X Pro Bowler), barely beats out Pat Haden b/c of longer career and better QB Rating
RB - Marcus Allen (HOF)
RB - OJ Simpson (HOF)
WR - Keyshawn Johnson (3X Pro bowler, 10,500 career receiving yards)
WR - Lynn Swann (HOF)
OFS - Frank Gifford (HOF)
TE - Morris (Red) Badgro (HOF)
OL - Bruce Matthews (HOF)
OL - Anthony Munoz (HOF)
OL - Ron Mix (HOF)
OL - Ron Yary (HOF)
OL - Ryan Kalil (4X Pro Bowler, and counting)
DL - Darrell Russell (2X Pro Bowler)
DL - Mike Patterson
DL - Willie McGinest (2X Pro Bowler)
LB - Junior Seau (HOF)
LB - Clay Matthews (4X Pro Bowler, HOF semi-finalist)
LB - Rod Martin (2X Pro Bowler)
LB - Chip Banks (4X Pro Bowler)
DB - Ronnie Lott (HOF)
DB - Willie Wood (HOF)
DB - Tim McDonald (6X Pro Bowler)
DB - Dennis Smith (6X Pro Bowler)
DB - Troy Polamalu (8X Pro Bowler)

Yea, pretty darn good. But would not perhaps Carson Palmer get the nod as best QB that school has produced? I am obviously a Bill Nelsen guy....but Palmer may have had the more productive career.

OK, but would either John Brockington or Matt Snell be considered Fullbacks? Brockington has a slightly higher CA than Pete. Snell not far behind.

There really isn't all "all star" WR in the group, but we could run 5 wide sets up and down the field.
The OL would be great. Hopefully elite enough to get the average HBs going.
It would really be all on Brady.
-
QB: 1st - Tom Brady (2000-Present)
2nd - Jim Harbaugh (1987-2000)
3rd - Brian Griese (1998-2008)

Actually, Friedman should probably be second. He is in the Hall of Fame....and won NFL titles. Harbaugh and Griese hold neither distinction. But Friedman played long long ago, so people don't remember. (plus, he is like you Woody....born/aised in Cleveland)
WR: 1st - Anthony Carter (1985-1995)
2nd - Amani Toomer (1996-2008)
3rd - Derrick Alexander (1994-2002)
4th - Braylon Edwards (2005-2012)

Honorable Mention: Elroy Hirsch (1946-1957)
And again....Hirsch perhaps should be #1....as he too is in the PFHOF...where the others didn't come close (only if you include Anthony Carter's USFL years does he match up)
Again...an issue of him playing long ago.
I see you made similar choices....leaving out the proven player.....Hall of Fame players...simply because they played long ago. OK, your choice....even if they are flawed

A little disappointed in your offensive weapons for a team of your historical stature.

I think he did about as good with what he had to work with. Choosing Hirsch would have helped him.
(but, I guess that thing that Z is saying between the lines is: except at QB...compare the OSU vs. Mich. offensive skill players....OSU comes pretty far out ahead.....but....Quarterbacks matter.....now more than in Benny Friedman's day likely....so it hard to get around Brady....but then almos NONE of the other schools that ever played football have produced a QB as good as him. Arguable about Northwestern, Notre Dame, Tennessee or Louisville...but that's about it.)

FWIW, about the only link between Imperial College and the NFL...

QB: 1st - Tom Brady (2000-Present)
2nd - Jim Harbaugh (1987-2000)
3rd - Brian Griese (1998-2008)
Honorable Mention: Benny Friedman (1927-1934) - Learned today he helped revolutionize football and was considered one of the first great passers.
Actually, Friedman should probably be second. He is in the Hall of Fame....and won NFL titles. Harbaugh and Griese hold neither distinction. But Friedman played long long ago, so people don't remember. (plus, he is like you Woody....born/aised in Cleveland)
WR: 1st - Anthony Carter (1985-1995)
2nd - Amani Toomer (1996-2008)
3rd - Derrick Alexander (1994-2002)
4th - Braylon Edwards (2005-2012)
5th - Jason Avant (2006-2014)
6th - Mario Manningham (2008-Present)
Honorable Mention: Elroy Hirsch (1946-1957)
And again....Hirsch perhaps should be #1....as he too is in the PFHOF...where the others didn't come close (only if you include Anthony Carter's USFL years does he match up)
Again...an issue of him playing long ago.
I see you made similar choices....leaving out the proven player.....Hall of Fame players...simply because they played long ago. OK, your choice....even if they are flawed

I told you already, I weighted my choices some based on when they played. Also, Hirsch transferred to Michigan after some time at Wisconsin. But hey, they were honorable mentions

That is true about Hirsch. He was sort of the Russell Wilson of his day. Two different schools are give credit for sending him to the pros.
