  • Why are you guys fighting over if he should have taken a hit or the smart move being sliding???

The fact that he ran at all shows he doesn't know how to play QB. THROW THE DAMN BALL PAST THE STICKS ON FOURTH DOWN AND MORE THAN 2 YARDS. It doesn't matter if your receiver is covered by 4 guys. Give yourself a chance to covert. If they pick it, who cares... The game is over if you don't get the first. And if you aren't playing to win, GTFO. Your a damn QB. If you want to be a running back, change your number and switch positions. Christ, it's not rocket science. It's just like when we had to watch Weeden throw the ball in the stands on fourth down "because nobody was open..."

Nothing between the ears but a place to put a helmet.

  • Really . . . if he gets killed and fumbles we'd be bitching about that . . . They've probably been beating it into his head to slide so I looked at it as a positive and that he's listening to coaching.

The team's a hot pile of garbage . . . McCown is not that good . . . Every time we see a QB have a few good performances they are instantly considered the next whoever they most closely resemble. His passes are all over the place accuracy wise and he hangs onto the ball too long plus he's 36 . . . He's clearly not the future and I really don't think Manziel is either, but guys have played well when everyone counted them out. If nothing else he might bring his trade value up a bit.

Just don't see the team gaining anything from keeping McCown out there.

  • Every QB in the history of the league down 18 with a minute left would slide on a 4th and 6 run to avoid injury. The game was over. Hating Manziel is fine. Dude gets knocked for being reckless and playing it safe.

  • @clevfan4life said:

was manziel supposed to get himself helicopter'd and promptly protocoled on a meaningless play in a game that was lost by the end of the 3rd quarter? I don't understand why he's a coward for sliding in the face of about 4 defensive players all aiming for a helmet spear kill shot on him. Had he gone in helmet first on that play we'd be down to 1 quarterback and we'd all be pissing about what a moron he is for putting himself out like that for no fucking reason.

    Yes, you take the shot.

I take the shot, you take the shot, Josh takes the shot, Tom Brady takes the shot ... it is about comittment to your teammates.

If you miss practice, lie about sobriety, throw your chick under the bus to cops ... you are probably not the guy that helicopters down 18 in a meaningless game. Call me crazy, but I think the guy that saves this franchise helicopters himself down 18 in a meaningless game.

yeah i'm calling you crazy. It's the wrong call. Tom Brady doesn't go head first in a meaningless game, you know that. Brady's not a dumbass. Brady does that play when it necessary, not when the game is already over. Brady makes that play in the playoffs and/or SB, of course....so probably would JM. I actually commend him for being smart there. If he takes that shot and goes down, then what?

Dude gets knocked for being a QB and NOT throwing the football past the marker on 4th down and gotta have it.

Tom Brady doesn't run at all. He is a QB and knows his job is to THROW the football.

  • McCown has the injuries but is a great QB when healthy. Manziel just can't keep his off the field incidents either to a minimum or to staying out of trouble.

  • Riggins was a booze hound and thrived in D.C. Maybe Manziel could too. RG3 was Rookie of the Year over Luck and Russell Wilson. Him throwing to his ex-teammate Josh Gordon next year might work. Or not. Fuck.

  • No. Rg3 might be available next year. We might have both.

  • No. RG3 is broken down. At least Johnny hasn't been bitten by the injury bug.

The guys has played 75 to 100 career snaps. Give him the fucking rest of the season to see what he can do, if he sucks then you move on.

    RG3 is toast

  • Some of you fuckers are just plain Retarded. McCown has put up plenty of points the majority of games.

He's not elite but he's good enough if our defense want soft as baby shit.

Offense/mccown is not the problem with this team.

McCown donated enough points to the Rams to win (fumble). The rest of the offense playd like crap granted.

    @tacosman said:

Usf- we scored SIX points on offense today and the offense gave up 10 in the first quarter. Last week, our defense for a zillion ints in critical spots and kept handing the game on a platter to the offense to win, and they couldn't....

Maybe in the Sam Diego game the offense was good and defense terrible, but the last two games it has been other way around. Big-time....

When you guys going to figure out McCown is who he is? Around 2-14 in his last starts? You happy getting shit shoveled at you? I'm calling a spade a spade. You don't like Johnny- fine. Spurgon Wynn is available I hear.

  • This whole board is fucked up. Like the Browns. Please fucking ban me.

Ban you ? Why should you get off so easy ?
  • The great quarterbacks would still be winning. As close as some of these games have been, a tom brady would have a considerably different record.

Archie Manning was the suckiest suck who ever sucked.

I agree, Philip Rivers is pathetic!

Arian Foster has been healthy for about 8 games the last 3 years.. and here he is once again out for the season. Is he still the starter? This game isn't won on the trainers' table.. unfortunately durability must be a consideration.

wasn't Sammy Baugh another boozer in DC?

    So was Sonny Jurgensen.

  • RG3 will be cut and will not be signed by anyone.

He is as great of a teammate as Hoyer was.

McCown's internal clock apparently got him clocked again. BTW, on one of his sacks- he could easily have tossed the ball into the middle of the field- there wasn't anyone within 20 yards of the target area.

McCown gets stuck after his second read. You can see it in his face. He looks like a kid lost in the woods after about 3 seconds.
