yeah i'm calling you crazy. It's the wrong call. Tom Brady doesn't go head first in a meaningless game, you know that. Brady's not a dumbass. Brady does that play when it necessary, not when the game is already over. Brady makes that play in the playoffs and/or SB, of course....so probably would JM. I actually commend him for being smart there. If he takes that shot and goes down, then what?

Tom Brady doesn't run at all. He is a QB and knows his job is to THROW the football.

Cam Newton runs a good bit and his team is undefeated and has been to the playoffs two years in a row. Russell Wilson runs a good bit too and he's been in two straight super Bowls. That isn't an endorsement for Manziel, but it's not 1982 anymore either. Mobile QB's are gaining ground in the NFL.

  • should have been a late hit on the QB giving himself up for an automatic first down. The refs fucked us in every way possible this game. They are solely responsible. There should be serious repercussions for their actions, or lack there of.

    4 fumbles didn't help either.

But we had a nice looking drive on offense that was slaughtered by a whistle every play in the 3rd quarter I think - very frustrating.

  • A thread suggesting we go after RG3?

Some of you fuckers are just plain Retard. McCown has put up plenty of points the majority of games.

He's not elite but he's good enough if our defense want soft as baby shit.

Offense/mccown is not the problem with this team.

McCown donated enough points to the Rams to win (fumble). The rest of the offense playd like crap granted.

    @tacosman said:

Usf- we scored SIX points on offense today and the offense gave up 10 in the first quarter. Last week, our defense for a zillion ints in critical spots and kept handing the game on a platter to the offense to win, and they couldn't....

Maybe in the Sam Diego game the offense was good and defense terrible, but the last two games it has been other way around. Big-time....

When you guys going to figure out McCown is who he is? Around 2-14 in his last starts? You happy getting shit shoveled at you? I'm calling a spade a spade. You don't like Johnny- fine. Spurgon Wynn is available I hear.

i agree that mccown ain't taking this team to the sb or playoffs. But what the fuck, he has 1 tall reciever to throw to...all the rest are midgets that are not going to the hof. He didn't get any help when our fucking gm got hartline and bowe as free agents...We have no running game, so all the defenses line up and attack josh. Our ol sucks big time. No kidding, any qb in the nfl today would donate points to the opposition with this talent level..

  • bs. Our oline does not suck. But the lack of blue chip wr's....

    or at least one...

does exactly what Hoorta said. The defenses crunch the los,

and go after the run on the way in to get Josh...

and all the heroics by Barnidge - he gets double covered

    and still makes plays...

The little quick guys aren't big enough to block downfield, and

Travis is the wr they have to worry a bit about.

AND, the running on first down. Nearly all the time. WTF ?

    I don't get it.

It sets up pressure on the qb to throw when the defense knows

    he has to throw.

  • The only person on the OL sucking this year is Mack.

Having crappy WR's doesn't stop a team - but continuing to run even when the opponents DL shuts it down is lunacy. We should have used the gameplan by the Pats against the Jets -- they ran the ball 9 times all game, and 4 of those were QB runs when the play was called as a pass.

But even Brady doesn't have remotely useful receivers outside of Gronk... someone named LaFell had 8 targets.

  • Lafell is third string... yes, Brady doesn't have any great receivers....

except for Gronk. But look at how much Gronk means to their offense.

It's like Peyton Manning in the Denver game - he can get rid of the ball,

    often, to quick open wr's.

You go after Brady, and he simply throws it to Gronk.

Mccown had Barnidge - but watch how many times the Patriots run on first down.

Mack has been getting a little better as the seasons gone on - he could still get back to his pro-bowl form.

  • Wouldn't matter either way....but, like Ghoolie said....get rid of that fat ass primadonna, Joe Thomas

  • You guys are all trippin. This is on Pett and Flip. Remember Pettine's game plan for the Ravens.....to throw all day if we have to? Well that worked out with 457 passing yards or some shit and a win.

So why not keep doing that. Flip excelled. However Pettine wants to be a running team so bad I'm sure Flip has to comply. Stupid stats during the game: 17 pass plays 17 running plays. Who

give a crap?! Other teams aren't scared or fooled. We are forcing the run and get stuffed time and time again. Pettine needs to let the air attack resume then Flip rocks it. Otherwise we are running

just to run for Stubborn Pettine. Equal throws and runs. Good for you chromedome. No one cares.

As was said elsewhere- the Pats ran 9 times the entire game and won. I was just watching some of the ESPN commentary on the Pats Jets game. Funny how Brady can get a pass off when the Jets sent 10, but McCown takes sacks in similar circumstances. OK- he's not Brady- no one is, but I expect better out of our quarterback. FWIW, that's why no one else wanted Josh as a starter.

I called RG3 a bust before he ever took a snap. Quarterbacks who run first and pass second are shit. RG is pure shit. Manziel is pure shit.

The Browns need to find a QB with heart; one who wants to play, one who wants to win. People are so intoxicated with meaningless shit like height, weight, speed, etc..... completely overlook the things that are really important. Browns players have no character, no heart, no personal responsibility.

    Fire the entire team.

Trade who has value, Joe THomas is a guy who should have been traded 5 years ago.

    How about Austin Davis?

  • While I basically agree with Z.....I suggest the opposite........make Johnny earn his money. Make him prove himself the rest of the year. Make him play.......and if he confirms what Z says.....ditch him at the end of the year.

It would not make me unhappy to go into next year with Davis and McCown in as the backups.....in whatever order.....and bring in either a rookie of some other high prospect to play.

Fair enough.......75% of the problems may be coaching. I know it is on the defense. There is talent that that this DC cannot get to play.

What? You don't think it is perfectly reasonable to suggest trading a hall of a famer?

  • no, the defense was awesome last week. The 80 yard td pass given up was bad, but the THREE ints(including one pick 6) more than made up for it. Had the offense even been a C- against the broncos(granted an excellent defense), we win going away.....

The defense gave the offense that game on a silver platter TWICE late in 4th qtr and OT when it was tied. Once Mccown threw a dreadful pick in opponents territory(where he just wildly threw it up) and once he took a terrible sack to take us out of fg range after we picked manning off....again.

It was an outstanding defensive performance against Denver.....completely wasted by the o.

  • cause our O line is so good we can just trade the best one away right?

    Of course it's reasonable.

To dumbasses who don't understand a single thing about football. Absolutely, 100% reasonable to them.
