  • Agree on the Cardale psyche... when he was the only option he flourished. This year as one of at least two options... not so much. Very Hoyer-esque... and that is not a good thing.

Could he grow out of it? Could he gain unshakable confidence? Maybe... but at a minimum it sure sounds suited to be a backup...

I also think you can't underestimate how good Tom Herman was as an OC last year. He really played to the strengths of Cardale while it doesn't seem that way this year. Barrett is just days better at running the offense the way it's intended, whereas it was catered to Cardale last year.

  • Spend a #1 on a back up?

and the crowd who was cheering 'FAIL FOR CARDALE' has suddenly been quiet.

Don't have to Fail for him anymore... or any more...

Id say he surely isnt another Clowney....its pretty clear that he's a player who loves the game and has football in his blood.....

Also not another Watt... As discussed last year he does not have JJ's explosive burst. Even without that as a 4-3 DE... absolutely have to consider taking him.

i'm not so sure. I think his technique is usually to come off the line slow, read the play...than explode. But there have been situations where he had it in his mind to get around the corner from the get go. And the tackles are diving out to the edge for their lives. I think he's deceptively fast because of how smooth he is.

  • Watching Joey force Illinois into double teaming him with a TE, the. Chopping him with a back and on two occasions a triple team.

For all you Retards that think box stats are everything, forcing an offenses hand like that in their blocking scheme means more than you know.

Teams do exactly the same thing against A&M's Miles Garrett. Both will be top 3 draft choices, Bosa 2016 and Garrett 2017.

  • Joey was literally schemed to be triple teamed today, that's dominance on the field.

This was your quote in the JT Barrett got arrested thread about those stats: "I don't have to pretend, there are stats to quantify my argument about Joey." Then of course I brought you the bad news that his first 5 games shook out like this:

Va Tech (suspended) + Hawaii + Northern Illinois + Western Michigan + Indiana = a sum of a half a sack.

Before joining you in ordaining him as the next Reggie White - I felt there were red flags to discuss. Most adults in the first Bosa thread felt the same way with the biggest hurdle looking to be the inner chest. I've never questioned Joey's talent once I got my powerful first impression his Freshman year. I DO question how often he brings his A game - which comes from a fan that his witnessed first round draft picks here like Phil Taylor and Gerrard Warren. When he started the year suspended, it showed some people football wasn't prioritized enough to make the sacrifice.

The match-up today against the Sorority of the Big 10 doesn't surprise me they needed to chip with a TE and had a RB in to help out if needed. That's not only showing respect for Bosa but it's also a confession he's not facing an NFL caliber opponent. Reggie White got that all the time in the NFL and still tallied up tons of sacks so let's try not to confuse that with Illinois.

Joey Bosa definitely has the talent to be a top 5 pick. Does he have the inner chest to be a great one? We shall see.

  • Screw it, go Bosa. Then go Nassib.

not a huge fan of Nassib. He's the prototype college player that does well because he's physically better than his talent, his rushing skills though look to be normal. He doesn't have the toolset that Bosa does, not even close. Nassib is a guy who will struggle initially in the NFL, he has more to develop. Bosa has NFL technique right now. You can make the argument he hasnt' faced top tier talent, that is true....but i'm judging him purely off his skillset/fundamentals. He's as pure a football player as I've ever seen. The way he holds guys off him to analyze the play and react to it, it's amazing. Forget whether he makes the play or not, it's the fact that he does it. None of the other guys on the Buckeyes line do it like him and there's some seriously talented players on that entire defensive front.

Too long? Tiam - that was a pitiful, feeble excuse for ignoring the fact that

there are red flags. Doesn't mean he won't be the next star in the NFL... but

more and more - we need to start looking at the HEART of the player.

Enough with all the "Wow, he's a MAN, look how good he does vs inferior competition !!!"

Bosa may end up being all that.. or not.

The love for the game is the main key. If player loves the game, he always brings his "A" game.

Or, he can be just another guy who coulda been, regardless of the excellent talent, physical abilities and stats.

If I were drafting, and I had doubts about Bosa loving the game, I'd look at a few other players in a NY second.
  • Ya know what Im sick of? Drafting all these guys from crap colleges. Lets follow the Bungles recipe and draft primarily from the SEC and Big 10. I saw a stat line from their roster that said like 51 of their 53 is from the Big 10 and SEC. Lets stop thinking were smarter than everyone else and drafting RBs from Towson in the 3rd round....

  • if we have 2 picks they'd be bosa and elliot.

    enough said.

And if Elliot is gone, grab Henry. Oh, and just pray that our premier WR is back on track (and stays there) when he returns in 2016.

Hahaha....you obviously haven't looked up our most recent picks from the SEC, eh?......

West was a 3rd.....Richardson was THE third....Mingo ....Manziel.....

  • no bama rbs ever again pleez. no big 12 qbs ever again pleez. obviously never a kicker from the south cuz......

SEC linemen, sure. big 10 cbs and Ss pleez.

the franchise picks are the ones you gamble on and they can come from anywhere BUT when you whiff on them THAT costs you your job.

good luck next year mr. farmer.

So you asked for a fight and let 3 paragraphs and 1 line be the reason you chickened out. You never let my expectations of you down. Most of my replies to your ignorant statements are meant more for adults I know can't pull any muscles reading about 3 paragraphs.

Someone tried to tell me I was wrong about you another time you didn't read anything you overreacted to. The last 2 times we've crossed paths in debate you were defending under-aged drinking and driving with a tirade of F-bombs because it was an Ohio State QB. I made sure I used cut and paste from your double-standards JT Barrett Got Arrested thread so when you sobered up - you could see what it's like to be trying to extract an ounce of adult conversation out of you. That was the same thread you wanted to see stats of the first 5 games all the way up until you got to see them. And now you're not only confusing talent with inner chest but you're insulting a group of people that weren't confused about it during the first 5 weeks of the OSU football schedule.

The problem with you is you chest pound "I'll watch film with anybody here" and in the next breath you tell us how much you need PFF as your eyeballs. In 1 breath, the inventory of sacks for Nate Orchard ignited a further curiosity of Nate Orchard (like some of us) - in the next, you're full go on stats are for Retards. Most Browns fans already saw guys like Phil Taylor and Gerrard Warren brought to us by our Rent-A-Wrecks in the Front Office here endorsing the football investment equivalent of a Porsche. Unfortunately, OUR fans got to see both guys only had the engines of a Dodge Dart (except for 1 or 2 plays vrs Cincy). Josh Gordon is talented; but what does not caring enough to know the playbook, taking plays off and being suspended for missing meetings forecast for his success on the field? Ohio State has had a few defensive linemen that dominated the Big 10 competition like Big Daddy Wilkinson, Gholston and Alonzo Spellman but never come close to that level of play at the next level. Hopefully the first 5 games of 2015 don't mean as much as Bosa making himself #1 at Ohio State in sacks. Ooops, those are stats and we've already been told how little those mean.

Good points as usual; but be careful there's a know-it-all in here that says stats are for people wearing Retard.
